Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
Update, I forgot to say I put the silicone back in my vip2. I don't really notice a difference but it is home lol.

I want to say it seems safe... but I am a bit cautious about that stuff myself.
I have an adapter, but to date have only charged my unit from the keyboard of my computer.

Ok so maybe ill just order the adaptor and charge on computer until it arrives.

So I got my vip in the mail today. Im sort of confused about one the parts that came in a small plastic bag. I have taken a picture of it. Also there was never a ceramic screen included right?

No ceramic screen. That's for the herb attachment which is still in the works due to not working very well.

There is not supposed to be a ceramic screen... that was printed in error.
The piece you have in that image is not any part of the VIP1 or 2 that I recognize, and I have had them completely apart.

That's what I thought about the ceramic screen. It just listed it in the owner manual. Also I'm pretty sure the piece im concerned about just sits below the rubber mouthpiece to hold the spring down.

Does your spring stay in place vitolo? I put this piece below the rubber piece on top of the spring. Otherwise the spring will go up into the connecting chamber when tipped mouth piece down

I don't like that spring or screen type piece that holds the spring. I take them right out. Useless as far as I'm concerned.

Since day one I haven't had a spring in there. I toss a chunk of wax right on the coil and go to town.

Well good to know that at least. I actually called 7th floor to ask em about it and they told me to indeed put my mystery metal piece ontop of the spring to hold it in place. They also said the spring can be removed as well though this would be better for herbs.

The spring acts as two things....
it is a wick to carry and drip your waxes back down to coil... and when you draw it forms a tube of the melting wax that helps direct the hit.
My spring stays in place held by a flat plate and a ceramic filter (NOT the ceramic filter that was hoped wpould help vape weed in this device)
DSC02612.jpg

The plate I mentioned is on the end of the screen.
Note:
The sring and the ceramic plug that people remove for a better hit, is there as a spill guard, so that all of your fluids do not run into the mouthpiece...
...if you turn your back for a second, while a friend is doing a hit...
..and you forgot to watch for him to not hold the unit "Groucho Style" (like a cigar)

Yes, my ceramic mouthpiece filter stays in place, but I found the spring was more trouble than it was worth and without the spring the plate wasn't necessary. I was having a problem with a lot of wax sticking to the spring and never making its was back down toward the coil.

Perhaps so...
It does not appear to be of same proportions,
and you could check by asking them in email or by phone.
It could be an accidental placement by an overly exhausted assembly line worker!

Yeah I did notice my mouthpiece looks different than yours and I did call and ask them about the piece and that's where they said it goes. It seems to work fine

Hey guys so I picked up a VIP1 while at waka this year. I fell in love with this pen instantly. i've used it for about a month now and i only have one issue with it. The heating chamber is beginning to smell like plastic/chemicals when my oils reach a "low" level. I've been in contact with chris from 7th floor and hopefully he can sooth my nerves over this issue. Especially as i do not want to pay 30$ a month for a new chamber.

I have a question for Vito or anyone else who has direct experience with the VIP1. I read earlier in the thread that it is 510 threading on the VIP and that it should fit other 510 threadings say to change out carts. Can anyone tell me if this is true and/or what else i could put on it. Thanks guys - Love and Light

the vip by ssv battery does not have a 510 threading. I haven't checked the other components but i believe someone stated earlier that the VIP has 510 threading. I didnt want anyone wasting money on parts that wont work with this pen like i almost did

We're here to fuck shit up.
The heater uses EGO threading. The battery itself can take on any kind of cartridge that uses either EGO threading or 510 threading.

I use my 510 drip atomizers or a 510 cartomizer and tank every day with my battery. They screw right in with no issue.
