Yeah.. F* Combustion..
For all of those who doubt the Pax.. I don't know what you are thinking! My Pax has paid for itself and now I am saving money (making a 1/16 last 1-2 weeks). I get perfect, crisp, clear highs. I feel very productive and clean, not groggy and nasty like from combustion. I am also very acceptable in public, and not paranoid in the least. Users talk about stealth in public, what an underestimated statement. I walked across my college campus using the Pax. It was during winter time so my breath concealed the visual of the vapor cloud, as this beauty hits like prime time boxer. The odor of your material is very minimal in both overall heating (aurora of the unit) and exhaling. Plus during the winter smells are not your primary concern. There is a saying about the Pax, "A clean Pax is a happy Pax" which is the truth. Almost all issues related to my Pax were to my neglect to keep the Pax clean. I have no issues cleaning this when it needs it as it keeps me happy, so why not return the favor? All in all, I would give this a 10/10 and I see Apple or Samsung picking up Ploom designs in the future.

This was my description of the Pax, I am planning on sending it to Pax as my testimonial.

Thought I would share with you guys. Cheers.

We're here to fuck shit up.
The only thing I disagree with is the smell. When mine has an oven full with a few hits taken out of it, the unit stinks like raw buds. It has to be in some sort of cover in my pocket.

I agree somewhat, I have noticed if my material is really dry it does not smell as much maybe 40% of the smell when I have.. not so dry material.

But I didn't really want to drop a possible negative in on all the good

anyone see the new product on plooms website? Model two- dont think these are green friendly though :(

It only works with their own 'Pods' that you purchase from them. So unless they are going to make THC 'Pods', it won't be green friendly :\

Maybe they will produce some empty pods that could be filled with our own plant product. That might be cool.

I wish this was a pen for errl :) perhaps they will work with some slight modifications :)

Mr.Krinkle,
Quoted from 2 Paces :

When you take the screen out, you will notice the air tube hole on one side of the oven. The screen is actually bigger (a little longer) than the oven. So it will not fit flat against the floor of the oven, one end will be sticking up a bit when it is in place. So when you place the screen, place the end that is NOT over the hole first and makes sure it rests against the floor of the oven. Then press it down gently so that the other end seats itself just above the air tube hole, but is as far down as it will go.

This will leave a little bit of air space between the screen and the air tube hole. If the screen is placed the opposite way, the screen can constrict the airflow to the tube if it is flush against the hole.

Thanks a lot for responding!

I did seem to have fitted the screen a little deeper during that time. I tried readjusting based on your recommendation but it seems I'm still not getting the right hits I used to have. I can barely get visible vapor with the green temp setting! :\ I do see the screen sticking up a bit more on one side this time when I place it back.

Right now I tried cleaning it a bit more tried blowing thru and inhaling thru to see if air flows and it seems it does, but more constricted with the screen in place.

I hope it gets better tomorrow, otherwise I'm really inclined to say there's something wrong with the way it heats up or something. Will update soon.

I'm still loving mine. In fact it's become my go-to device. I feel so good after using it for a couple of months, I've started lifting and running again. Love the clean clear high and on the middle setting I get the terpene Pinel, so strong, it's incredible. Love the taste all over my mouth, I just like to lick my lips and taste that resiny goodness.

I need to read through this thread and practice a bit more, as the PAX seems to have its idiosyncrasies. I am getting inconsistent results so far but seem to be getting the hang of it after a couple of days. It seems like my vape batch is most efficient when I start slowly and cool down the same way, kind of like a bell curve of heat intensity.

I am not getting the recommended yield, and compared to a plug-in unit like my SSV the doses aren't as satisfying, but the PAX is still a cool little device that seems to work pretty efficiently.

And it will be a great little hand warmer this winter :D

I find the Pax to be inefficient in general, so that's a drawback for many people. I can't understand how ANYBODY is getting 10+ hits, even on the lowest setting, unless they are serious sippers. I got the nickname The Crusher years ago because of my ability to crush bong hits, so I feel if I get 4 or possibly 5 hits on the medium setting on a packed oven I'm good. That caches my Pax to a popcorn taste and the next hit gets you the vape choke. I'm a long slow draw guy, it's not a draw like through a pipe or joint, there's way more resistance but it's not enough to implode my head. I feel that holding in vape hits for as long as you can really affects the effects.

I hit heavy and hard... and always at mid level temperature.
I get a dozen thick heavy hits along with a multitude of lighter hits every time, no exception.

A session alone I can easily get 25-20 hits on low and about 15 on medium without stirring or repacking. It is an art to use this device. I do agree it has a learning curve as well.

Trying it out on low I can see the appeal as the taste improves. I rarely feel like I am getting a full dose anyways even when I crank it up but I usually feel medicated when it's over.

This will never substitute for a decent home unit but it's still a great little portable :2c:

I must be hitting this like a red-headed step child. My weed is perfect for vaping, not too moist or dry, it's a nice dank.

So, just out of curiousity, how long, in seconds, do most of you consider a "hit"?

I normally hit for about 7-10, then let it cook for about 10-20 sometimes 30 seconds.

Simple solution if your mouthpiece gets stuck:

Small amounts of ISO around the mouthpiece, lots of clicking.

The key to this is to lean the Pax back in order to make sure the ISO doesn't get into the temp button area, also have a fresh q-tip next to you to soak up all the extra ISO when you get done.
