Vaporbrothers Dabbler & Eleven Pen

I get light puffs from the dabbler but I load it like once a week now!
@Mr. Dabs: I'd get a less expensive pen vape at first. Even THCS recommends not to get a Persei as a first pen vape but an Ophos/Omi. I'm really satisfied with the Dabbler. If I think I'd have to get carts, load them etc. Lose some product.. This is a Wax melter! I keep loading it time after time and the flavour and smell of the vapor is awesome, starting off a good product to vape.
@pakaloko: you said you loaded with kief without any mess after all. Did it just melt completely? I have some bubble or kief but I'm unsure if it's a good idea..

Yeah, I'm real happy I decided to go with the Dabbler, at least as my "starter pen". I think, ultimately, the Persei might be the way I'll end up going, but it really sounds like they are in such rapid R&D mode, that unless someone is wanting to play "product tester", that might not be the best route to take. Back in the day, when I had less responsibilities, I'd love to play with that Persei and get involved with the cutting edge stuff.

Now, I just want to load some wax, take a hit, and go about my business. I think for that sort of attitude, the Dabbler will be hard to beat.

On a slightly different note, though, I see there are a bunch of new and improved skillet heaters being offered by the various ecig companies. Some are directly Dabbler clones, but some offer what appears to be a round winding of the coil (like an electric stove), another has a deeper bowl and there is even a rebuildable one available which has two coils in it.

My Dabbler should be here before the weekend...and my local dispensary has a great selection of shatter and budder in, so I will be testing this weekend :D

The first load of good oil in this thing really lasted. My original assessment (2-3 hits) was sooo wrong. I lost count but I got up to around 15 or so. I should caution that the last half dozen or so have been spaced apart by several hours, during which I stored the Dabbler standing on end. I think this causes oil to collect a bit so you can get a few extra hits that you wouldn't get if you were chain-hitting. Nevertheless, based on the last load I'd guess a reasonable amount of oil (about .05g, not an overload) will yield at least 10 hits and probably more. Given that these are oil hits, that should be enough for anyone.

Wow that's a lot of hits of .05. Thinking I'ma pick up a dabbler cart at least and see what its about.

Well you know I'm a light hitter. Heavier hits might mean fewer.

Careful with trying a different battery. Check the thread, there's a caution back there that this might not work and might cause damage:
Vape-Pen replies: "Since our temperature control is dependent on thermal characteristics of the heater, proper operation requires the proper resistance and thermal curve. While you can use 510 cartridges on the battery, the heater may not work properly on other batteries."

My take is that it's risky to match a Dabbler heater with a bare battery from someone else. Dabbler's battery is microprocessor controlled and matched to the heater. Blowing up your heater on another battery is not covered by our warranty. Vice versa with the battery. I've already killed a Dabbler battery by hooking it to a 710 coil.

I just had a great PM conversation with vaporbros. I couldnt be happier with the responses and honesty I received. Clearly great customer service and a great company overall. I just ordered a dabbler as a result and can not wait (i almost paid the $35 for overnight shipping lol)

Wow! I ended up using the dabfuk $10 off dabbler coupon. I tried using the $5 off dabbler heater coupon as well but it wouldnt take both of them so I just ordered anyway. Vaporbros said if i contacted them after my order they would probably still take the $5 off anyway. It was only $5 so i didnt want to waste their time.

Woke up this morning and received a $5 refund on paypal and an email from vaporwarehouse telling me that you cant use both codes but they were happy to refund me the $5 anyway! And i never even contacted them about it!

Love FC, Love Vaporbros and now i love vaporwarehouse. If i didnt have a vivape, id probably buy a vaporbros box just based off my positive experience so far!

Just ordered my Dabbler from Vaporwarehouse just in time for the 710 holidays. If this thing is half as good as you guys have been making it seem, then I shall be very, very stoned, and in many different places.

Can't beat $89.99!

I just answered a question in P.M....
that I felt I would add a note about here.
The question was about how often to clean the coil.
My answer emphasizes the fact that if you refresh the dab before it is exhausted you will stay clean longer~

I clean my coils when I notice any caking of residue in between the wires of my coils.
During cleaning procedure...
After a good number of "dips" and "blots" I then use a toothpick to scrape the stuck residues off. They look very good when I am done... the fibers are never bright white, but more golden after a correct and good cleaning.
The "how often" part depends on use.
the more you "drain" every hit from your dab.... without rejuvenating it with fresh oil... naturally the faster the residue sludge can develop... touch up the dab more often, and you prevent buildup of "bottomed out" wax.

Dabbler charged and ready to go! Man was that a painful 45 minutes...will report back later.

Initial impressions: im the opposite of everyone else i guess, because its a little bigger than i thought it would be but its not too big. Reminds me of the size of the atmos raw(maybe a little smaller in length). But its not too big. Plus im going from a microG so thats probably another reason it seemed bigger. I love the case its so small and slim i cant believe it fits everything. The coil seems like a huge improvement though, it actually covers the whole glass rods/wick thing, unlike the microG which had the coil only on the center of the wick.

Do you guys keep the glass rod in the case? I tried closing it with the glass rod next to the mouthpiece and i can hear it rattling around...also is there a low battery indicator, Or should i not let it get to that point?

EDIT: I love this thing so far! It seems like its built way better than my old microG. I think it would be better if the cone and heater were one piece and you just load down through the cone. seems like it would hold a little more and wouldnt have to worry about getting the threads dirty. but im sure it can be coeaned easily. Hopefully it lives up to long term use. We will see...either way ive been passed out for 4 hours so mission accomplished

Roll the glass dabber in a small square of cloth;... material of your choosing.
Use the unit as you will, and charge it when you have used it and have time.
There is no indicator... and there really is no "point" (re: let it get to that point)...
the unit can be charged when half used.. or dead empty...
The best way is subjective and what fits your lifestyle is what will create the "Ӎұҧдӎєїѕӎџԁ Methodology" of Dabbling.

Hi Mynameismud,

How's the microG compares to the dabbler? I plan to get both, the dabbler for home and the MicroG for travel. But not sure about the MicroG.

On a side note, has anyone travel through airport security with any of these devices?

Thanks,

I would rank the Dabbler above most oil pens right now, short of the VIP1 and 2/Omicron/Persei/Revolution/Cera. It's not better or worse than them, they're all solid oil pen options with their ups and downs, but the ones I listed I hold in higher regard than the GPen. Just me.

On the side note, no I haven't gone through airports with my stuff yet. No need to, really, considering cannabis isn't the only thing I have in terms of medication (the rest being prescriptions), but I wouldn't do it. You gotta remember this shit is illegal in most places, and the ones that are med-friendly have their own rules. If you really want to take it with you, I would recommend cleaning up everything and putting a new heating core on it, that way the entire unit is "clean" and can actually be considered an electronic cigarette (which are legal 18+ considering nicotine content of most juices). I just wouldn't risk it with a dirty core.

The microG used to be my go to portable. After using the dabbler for a few days, i cant believe i waited this long to get one.
The dabbler is on a whole nother level compared to the microG. I could take 4-5 hits off the microG and still not get the same results ive been getting with the Dabbler. And im using the same oil.

the cartridges for the dabbler are around the same price so if your worried about traveling just order a few spare cartridges. I ordered one with my dabbler but plan on ordering a few more just in case

I cant speak for longevity of the dabbler cartridges yet, but according to other members they last a long time, i believe vitolo still uses his original one from back around march? My microG cartridges only lasted a couple weeks with heavy use.

You like the VIP more than the dabbler? I was between those two and ended up with the dabbler...now you have me thinking of getting both!

Haha no, no, I meant in terms of build quality/who is behind them. The Dabbler seems to have a stronger following. Haven't tried VIP yet.

Ok whew.....

The VIP seems to be very similar to the atmos raw, based on the pictures. and the dabbler also reminds me of the atmos so i would probably say they are of comparable quality.

At least i wont be spending anymore money

I am very impressed so far. I think i overloaded the coil, so i decided to put it through a stress test. I tried vitolos Iso technique. Im impatient, so i ended up just boiling the cartridge in hot water(not sure if thats okay but the coil is still working) , poked and prodded the coil and its back to hitting like a champ! A microG/cloud coil definitely would not have survived that process
