That stand is great!! Any chance you'd be making more for sale? Or any interest in making at least one more?? I'm willing to pay you well for it.

What is the best tube available for direct draw? Looks like it is the "14mm Plain End All Glass Roasting Tube". Will I need a silicone mouthpiece for that due to glass getting heatsoaked?

Also, is it possible to use this unit from a 12v car/boat cigerrete lighter adapter?

Will have one of these vapes very soon.

Can we pass the 14 mm Plain End through a 14 mm downstem or is another tube recommended? I used to vape bong with my PD like that.

Got on the waiting list in 10/2012 so I still haven't coursed through this thread yet. TIA

How long have you been on the list? You mention that will have this vape soon and I'm curious. Some people have been waiting since Reagan was in office! Alan takes his time with his art. I for one can appreciate that.

Rrose - Thanks. I have no choice but to modify.

deadheadbill - Hope it turns out well for you. I bored the hole about 1.5" deep so the knob is still above the wood. Would love to see someone that is good with clay make a ceramic LSV holder. So nice to keep them vertical when not in use. More of an art piece this way.

way2 - Glad you like the stand. I am willing to make more for sale. Send me an email so we can discuss.

Doug - You never know what will appear in the wood. That is part of the fun. There is usually a nice surprise.

Nytron - The 14mm plain end glass tube has an inside diameter of 9.6mm which is about 3/8". The screen is 10mm in diameter. It allows the most air flow as physically possible. Best is a very subjective term. Some might like a bit more restriction. I use the Turbo Tube more than the 14mm tube for direct draw because I like the feel of the 10mm glass tube on my lips better than the 14mm glass tube. I use the Vapor Lung most of the time so air flow restriction is not that big of a deal. I just let the VL do all the hard work and I get the easy draw every time. The glass tube only gets hot about 1.5" from the end of the glass tube. There is 2" of glass on the tube than does not get hot. It is possible to put a silicone tube on the end of 14mm plain end glass tube, but the silicon end will be almost 14mm anyhow. It will allow you to insert it into a 14mm glass joint for vapor bonging. The Turbo Tube will allow this as well.
It will work from a cigarette lighter power cord. Be aware that the voltage will run closer to 14 when the engine in running to charge the battery. The HI will be ready to use in about 2 minutes with 14 volts applied, but will soon make the air too hot. It is also stressful for the heating element. I just use a small 300 watt inverter and my regular power supply.

abhs - The plain end 14mm tube can be adapted to a 14mm down stem by using a silicone sleeve. Thanks for your patience.

mvapes - Glad you like my art. Wish I could make it faster. The wait might still be long at this point, but the better product will make it worth the wait. Discovering so many great things along the way that will benefit everyone.

So if I use an inverter, am I safe? Or will I still be at risk of going over 13volts?

It had to have been over a year ago? I signed up so long ago, I forgot that I signed up! Since then, I've bought an Arizer solo and haven't used my Arizer Extreme once since.

My solo battery is shot though, I used it as a pass around piece with buddies. The HI will be the vape of choice for when I am near an outlet. I hope it rips harder than a solo (less hits to cache bowl).

My fellow JedHIs, I was in attendance at the 2013 Cannabis Cup held in San Francisco this weekend. If you go to the Hightimes site it will tell all the entries, but I will say I was able to take home gram samples of most. Some I paid for, but when I did it was for a small amount. Hightimes had an area where it was free dabs everywhere all day long. Location was right on the ocean. I stopped by Blindpack pins booth after seeing they had an entry for high CBD. It was Jedi Kush. The grower hooked me up with a nice nug, and he ultimately took the cup for that category.

Umm yeah, so I did a couple bowls so far on my new HI. This vape has probably like 25% more airflow than my arizer solo with PVHES shorty turbo stem. The heat is higher than a solo turned to 7, which allows you to take a fast hit and still get a thick rip.

One thing I'm not sure is how to load the bowl (for direct draw). I assume you pack it like a solo stem. But when the silicone gets hot the bowl will slide down and load the herb onto the heater screen. Should I just pack the bowl on said screen where the heater is instead of the tube?

Nytron - Glad to hear you are getting some thick rips from your HI. Think of the HI as an electric lighter and the silicone bowl is your cigarette. The screen can be positioned about anywhere in the silicone, but I like to have it in the middle and then only fill about 1/4" above the screen. This will ensure that you will have good air flow and should give you two very big hits. I don't mind filling more often since it gives me more fresh hits. Keep the HI and roasting tube both as horizontal as possible and remove the silicone from the HI between hits.

mvapes - very nice setup there.

Pappy Woody - Thanks for posting the videos. Have some nice wood for you. Will get it turned shortly.

Here is a video a friend made recently.

Just for those folks waiting and watching... the list is now up to 5/19/12. Got my notice that it's my turn to be "turned"... :)

Oh Hanukkah just came early! My turn must be coming soon!

Hey Rrose - yeah I like using the recycler to vape. I almost feel like it give you that extra little kick in the ass. That recycler was custom made with an 18 mm female to marry with the cloud. But don't be fooled, it did the Hi justice. I would never disrespect my saber with bad glass.

So much better than....

Wow this vape is amazing. Super good build quality, warms up in just 5 mins. The moment you put the tube onto the heater, you can draw and get thick rips. No need to wait for tube to get heatsoaked. The temperature is perfect, hotter than a solo turned to 7/7, but not hot enough to combust (at least with the herbs I tried).

If you're in line for a HI, definitely order one with the bottom cap, the unit would otherwise tip over since it's so light and small.

Does anyone pack herb down into the recessed screen on the unit itself? Or pack herb into the tube? One thing with the solo is that the herb actually touches the metal if you fully pack the stem, resulting in much darker brown cached herb. The bowls I cache with the HI are not super dark brown like they can be with a solo+pvhes. But perhaps the HI extracts all the active ingredients more efficiently before herb even starts to turn dark brown?

No man, just pack the glass tube. Otherwise there is TOO MUCH conduction, you'll lose the flavours and half the herb is gone by the second hit.

If you keep hitting the HI, it will eventually turn brown... or you're just hitting it too hard.. slow your draw to increase temps. What tubes did you get?

Yeah Nytron - pack the tube bro! (or Sis) You'll blow your load (giggidy) way to early and potentially jam up the core. Glad your liking it though as much I am. Such a sweet device.
