Thanks. That explains it. I guess most guys have the cords, but we should add that warning to the advice. I'm also thinking that 4 feet is a little short for an output. IIRC they have a two dollar 3 foot extension cord with the correct connectors, I think I'll try to dig those numbers out and post them for folks.

Hopefully a couple months from now Pipes will make this PA idea obsolete. As of a day or two back he had a pile of parts on order for the main part, and a few different supplies, cables, car cords and so on coming so he can put the entire package together. For those who didn't know, he did a similar project for the T1 early on (made a PA and sold several dozen copies to Members). Such experience is, of course, gold. A couple of other fellows have contacted me for some of the details with grand plans for making them, I'm not holding my breath...... I'm happy to help anyone who whats to bring this (or any other useful) product to the market for us of course. But, much as I think competition is good, my money's on Pipes.

I used a power cord from one of my dated PC's.
I use mine as a daily driver.

"OF" makes some good recommendations!

Thanks, Bro. Not to put too much stock in that, try enough stuff, sooner or later you have to hit one. What I used to describe to the students as "the Columbus Method of Troubleshooting"......you stumble on it and claim you got there on purpose......

Just wanted to drop in for the benefit of future people researching which vape to buy...I love my Arizer Solo. I use it most of all my vapes, every day. If it's charged, I'm likely using it. If you're on the fence about buying one of these, just do it!

I use the PVHES straight stem, which turned my incredible love of the Solo into intense devotion. I can honestly say that the Solo is an incredible value for the money.

Hi, I'm looking for help with a charging problem. I bought my first Solo (M1B1) a few days ago, the battery arrived completely empty, so I put it on to charge overnight but in the morning - 15 hours later - it was still charging as if it hadn't detect that the battery was charged. It seems the battery was charged though. I've now gone through 3 charge/discharge cycles and it is the same, initially charging, but it gets to some point and then slowly jumps between 2 and 6 while the green charge LED keeps flashing. I have read on this thread that you should just leave it charging, but I've left it for 15,8,5 hours each time so far which should be enough.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Never stops charging with charge LEDs jumping between 2 and 6? I'm in the UK, so 240V mains if that matters. I've read about the battery reset but don't have such a small screwdriver so unfortunately will probably just have to send it back :(

I am after one as well. Not sure where about in Europe your based dude but the cheapest I can find them in the UK is on Amazon for £40. Would love to find it cheaper. Waiting for more info from OF with his custom power supply setup. Looks to be very cool and much cheaper but not sure if I can get the parts over here.

I haven't seen the never ending charging thing, but the flashing lights part is one of the things I've seen a fair bit as I was playing around with the 'weak charger' issue. I think that's the symptom of very marginal voltage output, the unit slipping into and out of undervoltage....although I'd expect it to be the other way around?? That is shutting down charging would raise the voltage I'd think off hand? One thing I can't do is force the factory charger to default.

What I'm saying is I'd bet it's an issue with the charger itself, not the unit or battery.

Probably have to send it in, bummer. Good luck.

The two key parts you need should be available. The first (and hardest to find probably) is a mains powered DC supply of about 8 Volts. 7.0 to 9.0 will work, but no higher or lower. The current capacity has to be 2.5 Amps or more. These are not as common as the 12 Volt versions, but they do exist. If someone can PM me a couple of EU suppliers of such stuff, I'll see if I can locate the right part (if it's in English, of course....).

The only other issue then is EIAJ-02 connector to match Solo. It's available buy hard to find. However, there's an easy work around. Cut the cord on the charger and insert a plug/jack pair. I use the 2.1 X 5.5 connector commonly used on small supplies and in the Closed Circuit TV trade like these:

Any connector pair will work of course, including terminal strips or even twisting the wires together. You just need the connector with negative on the body, plus 8 on the pin.

No soldering, just cut, strip and screw the wires in. You'll need 3, two males and a female (sounds like an Italian movie....). My first PA efforts worked this way until I found the proper connector for sale and repaired my charger (which now has a sort cord.....). The regulator ('full function charge/PA') prototypes use those same screw connectors.

So, if some clever soul 'in the old country' can find a suitable low cost 7 to 9 Volt, 2.5 Amp (or more) supply I think you're in business. Otherwise, Brother Pipes will be building systems with funny plugs and selling them out of Canada soon enough.....and from here that's half way there.

It showed the vapors funneled down to a pinpoint disperse , and making it more denser .
Allowing the user to inhale more volume into their lungs with ease .

Tried something different today, a Solo stem reclaim/hit method using a cheap torch lighter. This stem had accumulated only a little vapor resin/oil (not enough for a hot chocolate run) and wondered how it would hit by just heating up the glass stem directly. Took 2 long draws for my first session and was totally blown away. Had a 3rd (long) hit for my 2nd session with good results again. Decided to make a video of taking the 4th hit even though the stem was almost done at that point:
This stem has been good to me all day, actually got a 5th and 6th hit from it before deciding the stem was cashed. Can't wait to try this with the other stem that has been used with a finer screen (resulting in less plant particles stuck in the stem oil, figuring it should taste even cleaner/better).

EDIT: Thanks Stu, surprisingly the draws were not harsh however I must now try your suggestion with the next stem, should be easier/safer to apply the heat, great pro tip.

Yup, It's exactly what I wish my CRZ's were. This thing is beautiful, getting me just as medicated if not more than combustion for 1/2.5 the amount used. :)

A question, Is it okay if when I'm not home to leave it plugged in charging? I don't want to get home and have to wait a couple hours every time to vape.

I've had my Solo plugged into the charger virtually 24/7 since October 2011 with absolutely no problems. The only time its off the charger is when I'm using it. As soon as I get home I plug it in. If I'm home and do a quick load I plug it back in as soon as I'm done.
