SOLO Vaporized Cannabis is my Best Medicine
Instead of throwing away the diffuser dish I had my local glassblower make this 14mm GonG along with a new matching downstem for my old school bong. He had to punch a hole in the bowl where I put a screen. The "bowl" where the herb is loaded is twice the size of a normal one, so it lasts a long time. If not vaped completely, the bud can be turned around and vaped again. I recycle and Mcguiver everything I can, so this is just normal stuff for me. An "O" ring inside will hold it secure and will also enable air flow ajustment by pulling out the GonG just a tad. Funny, it doesn't get very hot and if I add a piece of tubing and an EQ balloon mouthpiece, I can switch from water to no water in no time.
Sorry to keep posting this idea, but it was suggested earlier in the thread(yes, I read it all) that we utilize local glass blowers as much as possible. The $20 price for the Gong was at par with what is out there minus the shipping charge. Doing this also keeps $$$ closer to home in your local economy.

Cleaning: I soak the stem in ISO 93% or higher
Dish soap and warm water
Cold water rinse
You can use it different ways.
Let the unit reach temperature with empty stem engaged.
Or just load and go.
There is not a right way or a wrong way.
Do the way you like.
I load & go and sometimes I pre-heat the stem.
Different however both effective!
Thanks for the tips. The ISO keeps the steam clear right ? I think it looks too filthy when it's all golden

and Im currently using it now...for some reason the "CHARGE" LED keeps lighting up then going back to "HEAT" ..why is that? Im pretty sure I have enough battery as this is only my 4th session since the last full charge

Check out qwiso it's a great way to reclaim. Basically use high 91-99% higher the better extract and evap isopropyl alcohol. I put a bit in a container and then drop in stems and shake gently. Sometimes a scrape helps the goo come off the glass then repeat til clean. Dump iso remnants in Pyrex, evap completely, scrape and enjoy...

right, i agree...what i meant was that
- i turn it on & set the temp while i vacuum up a stem
- then try to let the stem heat up w the vape (pretty much so i dont have to hold onto the stem any longer)
- i let the stem heat up for at the very least 30 sec before i start a very short "priming" of the stem
- then its good to go...i pretty much keep the stem plugged for the whole session & save the rest for a higher temp or dump it if its done
- if i was taking it out for the day/night, id just pack a stem (or a few), cap them with the mflb battery caps, & try to use it as stealth as possible. its pretty much an error-proof vape - i dont see how anyone could use it wrong. obviously, if its not vaping, turn up the temp!
since im currently always low, i always keep some abv handy to use as a bed for kif & that really helps when otherwise dry for whatever reasons...
to clean u can just use iso or even iso & salt if u r too lazy to scrub.

I'm looking for some input on how the Solo compares to the Buddha in terms of efficient use of herbs. I love my Buddha, but it just blows through my green like crazy. With the Buddha, I can blow through a gram in one evening easily and be grinding again before the night is over. By comparison, with my Hammer, a gram will last all evening and into the next day.
I don't expect the Solo to be as efficient as the Hammer, but I am hoping it will be more efficient than the Buddha. Anyone?

I know my LSV seems to get me higher than my solo does and gets my ABV much darker but I can see how easy it is to blow through herb with it because of the larger bowl. I was able to compare side by side by measuring out loads for my LSV with a solo stem. That being said I definitely use less when I use my solo for an entire evening. the small bowl size and need to repack it gives you a minute for the full high to hit you so I think that's why I end up using less even though I think I can get more out of the same amount in my LSV.
I definitely go through much more in one night with my LSV when I don't use the solo stem to measure (I don't weigh though because my scale only goes to tenths and isn't very accurate within a tenth of a gram)

I owned the ssv and currently own a solo as my primary vape. I also own and love the vapor genie coil. The solo doesn't combust and thus keeps the glass cleaner therefore I use the solo. Plus the taste on 3 is incredible and on bubbler at 5-7 wow what a bonus when the flavor stops! The efficiency part seems to depend more on your knowledge of vaping than the instruments used. To clarify sometimes with my ssv I could get the greatest rips by just covering the screens. With the right heat and setup your Buddha can be just as efficient it's up to you bc you are experienced. But speaking straight out the box for a noob the solo is top shelf IMO!

Perfect. That's exactly the feedback was hoping to receive. It sounds like, in terms of usage, the Solo would fall somewhere between the Hammer and the Buddha, which is exactly what I was thinking.
I hear what you're saying, but I judge mostly on how high I get, and I can get high as hell using my Hammer with half of what it takes on my Buddha. On the other hand, the Buddha will blaze my ass much more quickly and with less work than my Hammer but at the cost of my jar. It could be my method, though, as I use my Buddha as my "heavy hitter" when I am flush (set it on 12-ish, full bowl, with a bubbler usually). But when I'm trying to conserve, I store my Buddha and use my Hammer, and it's amazing how much more I can stretch the herbs. What I'm hoping is that a Solo would be a good middle-of-the-road choice, so to speak.
thought i would finally post! probs a bit over a year ago, this forum convinced me to get the solo (m-106). i love it! and actually just broke my first angled stem two days ago =( guess it will be easier to reclaim now.
i have found better results with sativas and generally combust my indicas. i set it at 5 and take slow, long draws (basically like a yoga breath) and found that if you "breathe normally" but take each inhale from the solo, it gets you pretty ripped. sometimes ill forget to finish a bowl, even though im still holding the solo in my hand!
also, i load a nice size pinch into the stem (maybe a good size hit from a normal bubbler?). i have a concave metal screen in there (didnt have one when i first started using the solo and got so much plant matter in the stem!) so it looks like its only about half full/loaded.
i am currently looking for a smaller bubbler to insert the straight stem into (it will swap out with a 12mm downstem) because just putting the solo stem up to the bowl of one of my bubblers doesnt give a nice seal, obviously.
i also just got one of those gentlemans espionage pens for on-the-go vaping. had it for about a week but still testing. (have a post in their forum thread about this)

So I just got my 2nd solo in today from puffitup, I ordered it saturday 6/15 and I got it today!!!! Amazing shipping, customer service, price and everything.
Its the silver color, my first was black, I have to say i like the silver better. Anyway, the point of this post is that my first solo I ordered about a month ago is a M1A4 serial number. This new one is a M1B1 im not sure if this has been talked about already but the 4 holes are now smaller in the M1B1. Other than that I could not find any differences.
Im curious as to why the hole are smaller. I know that with my first one some material would fall through the holes. I know this because i would pull are through the crucible with my mouth and get little pieces of plant material in my mouth.

If you get bits in your mouth, it would be through the holes in the glass stem, not the holes on the bottom of the stainless bowl.

I guess you misunderstood what I was saying. I would pull from the crucible with my mouth, no stem attatched. The crucible would look clean and have no plantmaterial inside it. But when I would pull little pieces of plant material would go into my mouth. Try it out on yours, you will see lol.
Also, I called puffitup to ask exactly what the PA does and they didnt know forsure. I know that it lets your solo be powered by AC power but does it it charge the battery and pull from the battery at the same time? Or Does it charge the battery and then the heating element is directly powered from the AC charger? or does it just power the heating element from AC power? I know that its converted to DC im just trying to make it easier to understand my question.

I have my first vape the solo for a week or so, hitting it dry with original stem no screen, mostly on temp 5 and i end on 6, i fill the bowl like 3/4
The first days i used the solo on 5 it was irrititating my lungs were peeping really bad it was like i had asthma
Now the last days i used it, it's gone no more peeping, but the high/effect is not the same anymore it's like i need more every time

I mean it can only be coming out of those little holes. The question is if the material thats stuck there is getting burned by the heating element. But its interesting the newer models have smaller holes.
