Has anyone had the problem that if you use it too often that on the higher settings it is #1. Untouchable on the bottom due to heat and/or #2. When sucking, it mostly tastes like plastic?

It just seems that mine is overheating. Is this a common problem?

If it's too hot to touch or tastes like plastic, stop using it and send it back. I'm not a Pax technician or trained in vaporization mechanics but I do have a Pax and it NEVER tastes like plastic and NEVER gets to hot to touch and I use it hard sometimes.

I just got my PAX yesterday and was a little disappointed my first use. The mouthpiece gets so hot that I can no longer draw. I am unsure how hard I should draw. I used 3 bowls and got a somewhat baked but nothing special. HELP!

Also, where can I find these SliM videos everyone talks about? I can't find them anywhere.

Thanks in advance :leaf:

Finally able to get my hands on the Pax again.. this was my first actual vape and it brought me to FC.
we have a love hate relationship lol. But I am enjoying the session I am having now. My real reason for getting it is for sandwhiching dabs in it..I miss that! The xp seemed a little too fragile for oil(dripping into heater).

The mouthpiece part is one of the problems I have when it starts to overheat.

Ploom's website says that they don't warranty illegal uses. I think my herbal blend of choice has voided the warranty... is this true?

So I love my pax. But since my cloud is inop, I've been putting some miles on my pax. Well it's been getting very hard to draw. Even after a thorough alcohol and pipe cleaner session it only fixes the issue slightly. I know it's not the tube, as I clean that constantly and can clearly see daylight through the other side and minimal build up. I've also soaked/cleabed the mouthpiece with soapy water. I even gave it an alcohol rinse after having this problem. The draw on the mouthpiece is a little tight but nothing like when the unit is fully assembled. After some trouble shooting it appears the draw is only tight with the oven lid attached. If I remove the kid the draw is perfect, just like the day I got it. I've cleaned the sides of the kid and the oven and it does make a difference but its nothing like the first couple of uses. Last time I used it (after a cleaning) the draw was do tight I was getting lightheaded. Any suggestions? It does appear the plastic in the oven is slightly separating from the metal outer casing. Is it possible the plastic is tightening around the lid and causing this?

have you washed the oven "hole " ?

try moving the magnets around the oven caps too.

They didnt give a fuck on the 4 i returned... just clean it really good to the point where theres not any visible residue. The oven was the hardest to clean, I used toothpicks and let the oven heat up, then scraped the walls. Then after scrapping, I used a wet qtip and work it around. I mention this every time, but be sure not to use cheap qtips (there is such a thing) the cheap ones have flimsy plastic stems (which will melt onto your oven and make you sad), you want the ones with the stems like lolipops, (cardboardish?) or the hobby ones if you're a baller, they have wood stems.

Its always important to wash your pax-hole.

I believe so. The hole that the metal plate covers so the flower doesn't go up the path into the mouthpiece is clean and clear of buildup. I did use your advice with the magnets. Right now doing some empty pulls don't seem as bad as the last time I used it, but not as easy as the first few times. I'll update the next time I use it. Thx

in all seriousness, the mouth piece has a really narrow hole at the top that has been clogged with debris on mine more than once. I run hot water through the opening both directions. You may have some blockage up inside the plastic part of the mouthpiece beyond where the metal stem sits. I had one plug on me so bad the first time cleaning it, that I had to remove the metal stem to get up in there. If this is your case be careful not to loose the slider ring on your mouthpiece stem as without it your pax will lock shut permanently. Once the stem is removed I can get a pipe cleaner to poke out the top, thats how I know 100% that its clear of anything. Qtips work great too. Side note, I just cleaned my screens with nothing but running hot water, interesting! :) One was especially dirty and it cleaned up just fine, just rubbed my fingers on it a bit while hot water was running over it. Up til now, I get pretty aggressive with cleaning these things.

Appreciate the member that suggested the Mentos lids. Worked well for me and no smell.

I bought for $150 and stickers come off man. It probably won't even stay on there with the cleaning solution and heat, but I thought I'd give it a try.

I run my pipe cleaner through it once a week and use a bottle of propylene glycerol I bought on ebay. All that care and it just overheated and the little rubber band near the oven just popped out.

So I email Ploom and same day I get return pre paid postage. So I waited for a few weeks cause it was sorta working so I decided to keep using. But on Wednesday, I decided to use the label and send it. Just now, 48 hours later, I get not only a receipt of old product, but a new product already sent with tracking number. I'll have by Monday.

PLOOOOOOOM, you are sick, just sick. Just love my pax. The customer service is the best.

Agreed. I had to send one of mine back for warranty, and I had the replacement in hand less than a week later. Amazing considering I live across the country from their offices.

Anyone else find the Pax lubrication packets messy and annoying to use? I had more on me than the mouthpiece but, i solved the problem. I took an old eye medication bottle , took the tip off and rinsed it out throughly and squeezed a few packets into the bottle. Now i just get one drop exactly where i need it.

I highly recommend using foodsafe PG (lifetime supply for $10) rather than buying the packets from Ploom, since it is just marked up.

A month ago, my spring started getting sticky and there was a lot of drag on the mouthpiece when I tried to engage it. I decided to finally fiddle with the spring mechanism.

Firstly, I took the denta-pick and attempted to get the spring out so I could clean it. I failed, miserably. I ended up just jabbing the spring around. I then took the dentapick, dipped it in some ISO and delicately went into the spring area, jabbing the spring around. I then did the same with a small amount of PG.

Afterwards, I noticed that the spring was moving like it was when it was brand new. I let it sit on red-partymode for a good 15 minutes, just in case the ISO/PG fumes needed to dry out. Even now, a month later, the spring is moving very nicely and my MP hasn't dragged at all.

Do you have a link for Foodsafe PG? I didn't buy the packets, they sent me 10 of them and over the course of the last year, 3 new mouthpieces. Love their CS. I also emailed them and told them how expensive those packets are considering what's in them and how easy it would be to put some lube in a bottle like mine;)

I got some PG from a ecig seller TotallyWicked. I have ordered a few things from them now and everything has shipped very fast and shipping is cheap. They also sell cheap 10ml bottles that work perfect or a small stainless flask, it's nice with a blunt needle tip all pocket friendly. I'm sure any ecig seller will have similar stuff. Look in the eliquid mixing section.
