mvapes - Love the new avatar. Glad to hear your HIsaber arrived and you are wielding it so well. I might sometimes use bamboo skewer tip to pick out any large chunks that might get stuck. Everything else will just get completely toasted and pulled away when you draw on a roasting tube. Did you get the tool for removing the heating element if you really need to clean it out? If you are always using it with water tools or horizontally, not much debris will get into the center tube.

Ed - Glad you like the GTV. I just have the one prototype yet as the Heat Islands are keeping me crazy busy. Need to figure out a way to clone myself to get more done. I know you probably feel the same way.

PDwasmy1st - Send me an email and we will see what we can figure out. I have started providing a DC extension cord with my power supplies since it is always the plug end that fails. The extension cord is much cheaper to replace than the power supply. The HI is newer than the Toasty Top. Although, I have a new core for the Heat Island and Toasty Tops will be getting the old HI cores. That way the Toasty Top can use all the same roasting tubes as the HI.

Jeppy - Thanks for the great music videos as always.

bOObs - Good to see you back in action. Thanks for posting the video. The background is up to par.

I did not get that tool Alan, per our PM please let me know what it would cost to get everything had this been an actual new packaged piece from you. I would be glad to pay whatever it costs.

This thing has been kicking my ass since it got here. The size is so perfect and so small it amazing how this little guy performs! I see detail in every aspect from other logs, it's almost like if Alan just paid attention their short comings and answered every complaint. I could already tell my wife is digging it too, no more complaint's about the purchase and mysteriously I got locked out of the bathroom by her tonight!

Haha, love the new avatar Mvapes, congrats on your premature score

Alan: yeah, he's holding up just fine. I just gave him a thorough cleaning and bathed him in Underbutter so he should be ready for another year. Still waiting for some sunlight for some proper shots though, we've been having some really strange weather here for most of the year so far & I don't do too well with artificial light.

I believe you had some questions about those dimmer switches I used a while back btw?

I gotta keep it short for now but basically I feel they're to unreliable for everyday use. They will work, at least for a little while, but I'm pretty sure you could make something a lot better for just a few bucks more.

If you have an operational log and you've run out of adaptors, why not just buy an adaptor until your time comes up on the list?

If your problem is replacing the power source, then i suggest you find a different vaporizer or a DC power source that ranges higher than 7£. These DC sources are prone to failure after some time, i've gone through 3 in one year.

I would also like to welcome one of our newest members to the jedHI order. There is no greater honor than joining the jedHI ranks. Except perhaps, for the exceptional few that sit on the jedHI Council with the jedHI Master himself .. Alanwankonobi.

mvapes - I sense the force is strong within you. Your HIsaber shall be at your side always ready for action, & your jedHI brothers will help you when needed/if called upon. Remember to wield such a strong force correctly, requires patience & respect. Become one with the force & your HIsaber, through vigilant training. Once mastered, flavorful-dense-delicious clouds of vapor will forever be yours. When in doubt, consult the council. Welcome mvapes, & may the force be with you. :peace: :ninja:

I feel a HIcro session coming on .... I love using my Micro Frothilator + HI!

I can't really advise you in what is best as an alternative since i could lead you in the wrong direction, but there are more elaborate power sources, variable dc power sources and overall bigger units that should have better reliability than these chinese dc power supplies we get for these units.

I must say, the power source is IMO the biggest "flaw" in log vaporizers. Several electrical stores told me that these 10$ power supplies will eventually fail, there is not point in getting too caught up about it.

So, that is why i said that the power source you buy, or the log vape you buy won't influence how many of these things you'll need until the vaporizer reaches the end of its life.

The choice is up to you... to me it's worth it. The one i have now has lasted me 6months already, the other two lasted 6months together... it is a bit unpredictable.

There was a thread about variable power supplies somewhere in FC, search for it, maybe you'll find your answer there.
