I never leave the wand in my DBV.
I remove it whether full or empty...
One hit left or a dozen.
The wand does not stay "plugged in'
I tell people that hands free is for removing your hand to wipe away a tear of joy... or to slide slipping glasses back up your nose.
I never understood the desire to "leave the wand plugged in" if not taking a hit.

Just picked up some nice bubble hash that I'm lookin to vape in my DBV. Is it best to do it without bud at a higher temp or mixed with bud at a normal temp?

You're in for a great treat...

I like a bed of bud well ground...
Bubble hash well crumbled on top....
vape away.
1st few stirs go easy and mostly stir the top...
as third and 4th stir come around, get in there and mix the whole wand top to bottom
as by now the bubble hash will be well blended ("all up in yo shit")

I'm really thinking about getting a Da Buddha but the glass stem that sticks out front worries me. I am a little clumsy and I know I'm going to pull it straight out while using a whip or something. Is it sturdier than it looks?

You must be careful.
I believe:
Hands Free means you can let go of the wand for a second to wipe a bead of
sweat off your brow, or to slide glasses back up your nose.
I use my DBV same as I use my hand held SSV
I remove the wand from the DBV after EACH hit, and stir... and I NEVER leave it sitting in there at 90 degrees like a glass mishap waiting to happen.
I store the wand, (with or without bud in it) rolled up in a bag.. leaning so the wand stays level.

Da Buddha works great with bubble hash. I never vaped hash before and it never tasted so good and smooth on the lungs. Since joining FC 2 weeks ago I've learned so much and have already developed VAS and plan on getting a Cloud and a log soon (even though I like the DBV). I joined FC for tips on using Da Buddha. I wasn't aware of all these other badass vapes out there. It's incredible actually. It's very interesting and I see it become a hobby of some sort. Vaping really enhances the whole experience of medicating.

Ordered my DaBuddha a good few weeks ago from the main site, the wait is killing me(quite literally!) It is going to be my first vape which i am hoping will help me put a stop to my disgusting smoking habbits. Been cutting down on my fags in anticipation!
My DBV landed in the UK on the 4th, and is currently in customs. I am refreshing the tracking info every couple of minutes! When i woke up today it said that it had been processed by customs, which made me jump for joy...but then a couple hours later it went back to saying 'awaiting customs clearance.'
Just got to keep waiting i guess...

Well worth the wait! Your lungs will thank you once you switch over. I used to only vape on occasion, but finally switched to just vaping using my DBV. I've tried combusting through quality glass but it all just tastes like ash now.

i've had my DBV for a few days now, you guys would hate me if you heard the deal i got on it on ebay...

Having my SSV for 6 plus years I always wondered how it's little bro was. I can say now that's it's pretty darn comparable. The hands-free is nice but I find myself wanting to spin it like I do with the SSV regular wand...which doesn't seem as necessary with the DBV.

I thought the DBV angle vs the SSV angle would be problematic but so far the material stays put fine in the DBV.

I don't think anyone looking to spend less and going with the DBV is missing much over the SSV but that's just my two cents.

You will want to stir your dbv bowl after a while for even cooking, as the heat seems to concentrate in the middle. But I have found that if you keep the heat around noon you can cook your herb until you can just about see the screen. How much did you pay for your dbv?

yeah i def stir but i think with the wider end of the heater cover of the DBV

vs the regular heater cover on SSV

that the hot air reaches more of the surface of the material with the DBV without spinning the wand like with the regular cover SSV.

hope this makes sense.

I got it for $50 only used a couple times. now don't hate me!

Thats a good deal.I got mine for $60 but the stem was chipped, albeit functional, and the whip was pretty grotty so I replaced them and bought a bunch of extra silicone tubing as well. Do you notice any difference in vapor density between SSV and DBV?

i need to do some more head to head testing first. my ssv is with a friend keeping him from going back to combusting, but from memory it doesn't seem like there is much difference in density

Does anyone else notice that their Da Buddha gets extremely hot when the oil diffuser is on it? I don't have the real 7th floor oil diffuser, just a small glass dish that sits nicely on top of the unit. works well, but the heat is quite concerning so I have stopped using it.

I wouldn't say EXTREMELY but the whole unit gets fairly warm if I forget to turn it off and leave it running for a while at vape temperatures.

yes... the unit does run hotter with oil diffuser on it.
I can leave it barely on at low temp and the oil diffuser will work..
That is the principle of the oil diffusion..
you can use lower than vape temps and the heat will build up under the dish and still allow it to be warm enough to diffuse oils

Yeah I've definitely been leaving it at vape temps with the diffuser on. will be lower temp significantly from now on. Thanks a lot

Dont get me wrong.. I am one who leaves it on for about 12 hours a day at vape temp with oil diffuser on.

I've had my Buddha a few weeks now and I'm still quite frustrated with it. First of all, I was told I'd get "15-20 thick hits" out of each bowl. For me, it's been either one or the other. I can get 15 hits, but there is barely any vapor on exhale. If I want thicker hits, it'll be about 5-7 per bowl.

The other thing is the consistency. I have a pretty slow draw and I usually connect the hose to my glass waterpipe. I found that the range for vaporization is small - from 10:30 to 11:30. Anything above 12 equals combustion. I usually set DBV to about 10:30. Some nights I get big, thick hits at this setting, and some nights a barely get anything (and of course this is with the same material and the same draw speed). I can turn the temp up slightly to produce thicker hits but the bowl becomes browned within a few hits.

I'd like to continue vaporizing as it is much more enjoyable than smoking (when I get it right) but it's also been very frustrating.

draw rate should be variable, the higher the temp on gauge the faster you should be drawing in. You really shouldn't be combusting past 12...

are you using anything to pack the material down?

i used a tool like this for my ssv and my dbv, helps keep the material down (i've found that if the material can shift when the wand is inserted it can expose the screen and you won't get good hits) :

I think there's some variation in where the zero point is on the Da Buddha. Mine clicks on around 8 o'clock for instance. I end up starting at 10:30 and go a little past 12 to finish. If I hit 1 o'clock it feels like it will char.

i would bet then. Because I don't pack mine at all and I get banging hits. The key is to suck while you put your wand in so that none of your material hits the element, then the heat will compact your bud down for you. But then I stir and bring it all right back out lol

i pack it down enough so it won't move when it is inserted horizontally. you should still be able to pull through it, if you can't then yea prob too packed too tight
