wakeandvape...I don't know about the glass strength, but it has a little wiggle when in use so you won't break it with a tap. and you can spend that extra hundred here:

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapolution-2-0.4940/

munch...however you want to do it is fine. I don't think I will ever use the glass can except for testing. Even when I get the oils I think they will work better in cotton. vaping oils on cotton has been going on for a long time. I think it would be easier to have a couple of small cotton balls already soaked to your preferred level ready to drop in there than dealing with glass cans. when it's spent you can just throw it away.

I just got back from a friends house where I showed him this unit. we pulled off a chunk and I rolled it in a little cotton and threw it in there. in a minute we were hitting it and four minutes later we were both baked. next time i'm not even going to use cotton...just gonna throw the chunk in there and see what happens.

Got my vote too. I think the black+croc would be by far the nicest looking; it would certainly be the one I ordered!
Can anyone confirm if they will make black with croc skin? I could swear I saw it somewhere. If not aw well ill get the black. Beeen waiting for this I got the pax but the mouthpiece and the lid and the way it charged all disappointed me.

Hi realslik,
those black crock models were just computers renderings, or at least that's what I read in this thread.
At release, just these three,

As most of you know I have a strong preference to water filtration. Other then testing a product out... I really only tolerate dry vapor during circumstances I can't use water. I consider myself a whimp when it comes to dry vapor.

This is the first portable I have used that delivers dry vapor I actually enjoy. The dry with the glass mouthpiece extended are so smooth. That really surprises me... I did not expect to enjoy the dry vapor as much as I am.

I am still excited to get to try the GonG stem when they are finished. ;)

An average size load for me is around .27 grams.

I can't wait to pair this sucker with my pn water tool. They are making a 14mm gong adapter right?

Yep both sizes. I will get both when I can. I mostly want the 18mm. The only thing I have that will use the 14mm is the PN Water Tool. I thought I would need it to enjoy the vapor on the go... but I am really enjoying it dry.

"I'm beginning to understand that you can modify the effects of the herb by using lower or higher temperatures. Specifically, can you vape an Indica or an Indica dominant hybrid at lower temperatures and get the effects of a Sativa? ...As if you were using a Sativa? And vice versa, vaping a Sativa @ higher temps to get Indica effects?
To tell you the truth, I've been getting blasted, any way I've cooked it so far: high or low temps. Bag or whip. I probably just can't tell the subtleties yet. But I'd like to hear your opinions."

OK Nesta my opinion is that you may be right. Some posters have experimented with different temps creating different effects.
I mostly bake my herb it at around 188 C and have not experimented with temperature but the Ascent with it's programmable temp curve should be a natural for experimenting. I'd like be able to dial in a "sleepy" high for night time if I'm having trouble sleeping which is not often.

I remember a while back DV talking about whats under the grill, a master switch i believe? Has anyone looked into this? Is the grill easily removed because from pictures it doesn't appear to be. Sorry if this question is redundant but I haven't seen anything about it.

The DV rep said that... a long time ago. I *believe* it was either an old design or mis-spoke about the power button on top, confusing that with the charging port on the bottom.

I have that noted as questionable on the wiki as I hadn't heard back yet from THR, nor do I have a unit to confirm/deny yet.

But it is most likely not correct and the latter of the two.

Nigel I guess DV prefers the cap off for thick oils and the cap'n for thinner ones, this is the boss's take on the glass cans.
I guess we are on our own as to what is our personal preference will be, regardless of glass, caped or not.
Might be using the cotton after all, or not.
Time will tell, time will tell Lol

Yeah, the design of the oil can is much different from what we thought it was. It doesn't sound so much "optimized" as "facilitated."

But as I mentioned before, someone (JRR??) took the original oil can and hacked it for improved performance. I think that'll be the same here.

I do like what sticks is doing with the cotton. For oil, it is a no brainer. But it also sounds like it allows for better heating of smaller loads, so that's a plus too.

EDIT: And midwest is correct. "She." But as you point out, it's all personal preferences, and I'm sure there will be as many ways to use the oil cans as there are users. :)
