Hello Everyone,

I've searched but have not found my answer, I hope someone here can provide one. Last week a friend of mine let me try his vape pen. Very nice. It had a tank on top with a very thin and pretty clear liquid. Much thinner then the oils I've seen.

It was very nice. Can anybody tell me what form that was? I've never seen anything so thin. I think the tank was a cartomizer, the liquid was thinner then olive oil.

He told me there were hundreds of hits in there. He got it from someone else and couldn't id it for me. Is it possible for me to make that juice myself?

Thanks for the info....but it doesn't sound right. That method would leave you with many ounces of liquid. I'm a regular smoker and 3-4 hits of my friends vaporizer and I was feeling very well. Inside the cartridge was about 2-3 ml of liquid. With that lasting a few hundred hits many ounces would equal thousands of hits....all of that from 8 grams of material. Not possible.

Sounds like the tincture I make. Pretty strong hits, and I used a gram of herb for each ounce (liquid ounce) of glycerin. It will open your mind.

That's very interesting Enchantre. If you put some in a ce4 cartomizer how many hits would you get per ml? It sounds like not only a perfect portable method but very economical.

What I'm looking for is something very portable, a pen, that contains many many smooth hits. The material has to be something I can make myself from flowers. Thanks for the info.

I use a VIP2 vape pen, and I use the dropper to fill it... and it only takes about a 1/5th of the dropper to fill it!

I have no accurate way to measure the ml used. I just know that it looks like I have a very abundant supply from my "small batch" of tincture.

How many hits do you get out of that 1/5th of a dropper? This sounds very good. My pen vape should be here on friday. The ce4 cart should be here around the same time. It's still hard for me to believe that this form of thc is going to last longer then flowers. Very exciting.

Soon I'll be at the beach vaping oil!

Um... well, after three days of two of us using it liberally, maybe (doing complicated math in head, cue cool graphics like on Numb3rs) 50 times each per day, so, 300 hits, it was still more than half full.

You can also, depending on where you are, purchase/donate for a high-test glycerin tincture, and give it a shot. If you don't like it, you can always use the tincture sublingually.

That is amazing. It's surprising how long it seems to last in this form. I can't get anything advanced here so I'll have to make my own but that doesn't seem to hard.

I'll come back in a few weeks and let you know how it worked out. I'm sure I'll have to mess with hardware and do a least a batch or two before I'll have any first hand info. That's going to take some time.

Hi Enchantre - amy chance of sharing a recipe or a link? Please :brow:?? I've been looking for a way to make a concentrate safely and this sounds perfect.

I don't think you'll have problem finding tons of them yourself. Do a search for "thc tincture" or anything close to that. Just make sure the word "tincture" is in there. You could also put in the word "glycerin".

It's basically put some stuff that's been broken up into a crock pot with some food grade vegetable glycerin and cook it on low for 8-12 hours. Strain it off by squeezing it through some cheese cloth. That's it. Plenty of people change it up a bit and put in some other steps but those are the constants.

Excellent. I already read that guide, just didn't know it was from you. Thanks for the link.

My plan is to decarb it first and only do the overnight cook. I'm not going to age it a month like you did. Not on the first batch. I'm not that patient.

I think this is exactly what I am looking for. Honestly, 6 months ago I had never dreamed of making an oil or a tincture but now it is heavily on my mind.

Some questions for you Enchantre if you don't mind;

1. Is this safe to make? Can I blow myself up? I really need a safe method.

2. I had I think wrongly assumed tinctures were for taking sublingually and not vaping. Is this glycerine good for vaping? (sorry Enchantre reading your recipe I guess the answer is yes).

3. What is the advantage of making this as oppossed to just vaping buds? Does it increase potency and efficiency? So if you take a 1/4 of buds does it last you longer in a tincture compared to just vaping the buds?

Thanks a lot guys. I am going to definitely make this on Saturday. I have some shooping and research to do before then.

I'll answer that:
1) yes, it is safe. Vegetable glycerin is a standard ingredient in a lot of things. In itself, it is benign and inert. For the water bath simmer, it is important that the bottom of the jar not sit flat on the bottom of the pot/crock pot. I use a silicon hot pad. You can use a table knife in the bottom for it to sit up on. A piece of cloth, like a dishcloth, will work, too. It's covered in water, so it won't burn.

2)Vitolo clued me in to the vaping of tincture, in the SSV VIP thread. Yes, it works.

3) The advantage, is stealth. I vape flowers at home, but if I'm traveling or at work, I cannot do that. This will help me keep going until I can medicate at home.
