Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

The Yugo analogy doesn't work because this isn't the cheapest vape on the market. Most times you get what you pay for, and no one bought the Yugo because it was the best car on the market. The Cloud is the "Bentley" (my words) of vaporizers. When you place yourself in the premium market, you are expected to deliver premium goods and service. While I admit that the VXC team seems friendly and victims of unethical business practices, to the consumer thats out almost $600 this matters very little. The consumer didn't choose their manufacturing partner, but the consumer did give them their money.

I was going to take the path of just demanding my money back, but after talking to the VXL and the vendor, and listening to different members on here, I certainly feel sympathetic to their situation. It's a small company and giving back everyone's money or recalling all units in the field is probably not logistically possible. Plus, its in my best interest for them to succeed or else I just threw out ~$600. However, it would be nice if there was more communication on whats going on. I'd consider buying another one but without knowing if I'm buying a unit that currently has a 30% chance of failing or an 80% chance, I think the saying goes "fool me once..."

I don't know if all of the Cloud+ units are defective, or how long they are going to last, but it would be nice to know if VXL could give us a failure rate, or even an explanation on whats failing. I haven't seen any international units fail yet, so maybe its a power supply issue. I sent them an email asking of any additional info and if I'm supposed to be doing anything with my broken unit (like send it in). It was sent a week ago and I haven't received a response yet. I understand it might take some time to get back to people, but since they are working around the clock, responding to concerned customers should be part of it. Are they fixing units? Building new ones? Perception is someone else's reality and minus the one response I received from VXL acknowledging my defective unit, the only thing I've seen from them is a promotional event, which seems odd considering the situation.

Hindsight is 20-20, and with my experience so far, I would've held on to my money. Once VXL gets this behind them, I'd be more than happy to buy the Cloud, as my short time with it was a great experience. But currently, I'm at the mercy of VXL to fix my unit and it's important for others to know the situation because the consumer is powerless. If stating my experience is slander than the apologists are nothing more than company shills. How many of these apologists have a defective unit collecting dust right now? Also, I hate to be negative, but the realist in me has to consider the possibility of the company failing. If that were to happen, which one of the apologists is going to refund my money?

Pakalolo, you inspected some units and they were functional? My unit was functional for a week before it went tango uniform. It appears mine isn't the only Cloud+ that died in this fashion, so I'm curious how your assessment has bearing on the reliability of the Cloud+ customers. IMO it's akin to someone kicking the tires on new car and telling you the car was going to work fine. When my unit failed, I found out about the production issues, and assumed they knowingly sold me a defective unit. After explaining that to my vendor and VXL, I was assured that they inspected every unit still available, and the scope of the problem was worse than initially assumed. So IMO the issue isn't being detected with the current inspections. If your goal is to put consumers at ease with your inspection of a few Clouds, what are your credentials in electronics and your familiarity with the Cloud+. Please explain to me how a visual inspection (hopefully the unit was opened up for this inspection) is going to identify a problem in a unit that is functional, but is going to fail (for unknown reasons) after a few hours use? If sirurdnotwrex is saying all Cloud+'s are going to fail, that basis is unfounded. But if his "false warning" (your words) is inaccurate based on his personal experience, how are you not engaging in the same conduct by giving "false hope" (my words) based on your inspection of a few units.

VXL should have their failure rate data as warranty work is an expense, and any company that wants to stay a company should be keeping track of that cost. IMO if the number of failed units is as small as some think it is, and the units still out there are functional, then why not recall/buyback some of the good units (to replace or cannibalize for parts) still in vendor stock to square up the current crop of customers that are stuck with defective units.

Sorry for the rant, as I've tried to keep mum about everything, but when I see accusations of slander, it's going to get a response.

Best post yet. 100% correct in every way, shape and form. Thank you.

I just wanted to pop my head in here because of all the activity has been going on. First off, I understand how frustrating it must be for existing owners and the situation they are in right now. There is no denying that it is a shitty situation and one that I completely empathize with. To be honest, it would be much easier to just dissolve this company so that we no longer have be responsible or accountable for any of the units that are out there but instead, we are taking the biggest risk of all, taking loans against our homes to keep this company above water.

Just to back up what Troi was saying, we did indeed test all of the units before we shipped them off. We felt confident that as long as we built our own units, they would be fine. We started noticing some very slight deviation from part to part and once we realized that some of the parts might be faulty, we shut down production altogether. Being that we (VapeXhale, NOT our manufacturer) are responsible for paying for replacement units, TRUST US, it is in our best interest to not sell any units that we thought might be coming back to us because we would be cash flow negative once we replaced it with a new unit.

For those that have had first hand experience with us, I hope we have shown that we have integrity and morals and would never try to intentionally get over on someone or give them a negative experience.

So that brings me to the more exciting part of my update. To let you guys know what has been going on and when we expect to be up and running again. We've learned from the past and want to take extra testing a QA precautions before re-emerging. We are also in the process of looking for our own space where we can assemble our vaporizers. It is no secret the amount of hiccups that we've had over the last year so we want to make sure that we do everything to ensure that every customer has the same, consistent, positive experience with us.

We are going to make some slight changes so that if anything breaks, it will be a modular repair versus having to give out a brand new unit. This includes breaking the bamboo. While this has been a tremendously difficult and stressful time for us, the positive news is that we are able to start off with a clean slate again. With that said, I'd like to give you a sneak peek at the next generation VapeXhale vaporizer. It will be sleeker, lighter, and use a polycarb enclosure to better dissipate heat. It will have all the same positives as the previous versions but will be easier to assemble and repair. Without further ado, here is the next VapeXhale vaporizer:

Do you have any date projections as to when Vapexhales will be back in production and we'll be able to buy? If you don't want to say now, think there is an estimated time when you'll be making an announcement about this? I'm excited. :)

I don't know why anyone gives Vapexhale any crap...

They are a relatively new company and anyone who has bought from them should realize new companies run into growing pains and problems. They still produce a top level vape.

Also, if anyone at vapexhale can even provide a ballpark date for those new clouds, it will be nice. I was getting ready to order a cloud plus but if that is coming out in the next 3 or so months I may hold off.

EDIT: I guess my question is: would it be worth it to wait for the new model? I've wanted a cloud ever since I started vaping and I can buy a plus, but I don't want to buy a unit right before a new model comes out.

Thanks for the update, SM

The Cloud 2.0 looks fantastic! I will definitely be purchasing one even if my Ticking Cloud from last July is still puttering along working perfectly.

Thanks for the update! really exciting news...It would be interesting if existing Cloud+ owners can upgrade to the newest model for a fee or something! or some sort of exchange program? Anyway! now we know how this story is going - Cloud 2.0!!

edit - oops, just saw mnd99's message - same question, just for the ticking version not the Cloud+ (I have two ticking Clouds, the Cloud 2.0 looks great)

You're right, Stu...

SM did say that this is the next generation VapeXhale vape...which "could" be called Cloud 2.0.

But if they are going to have a new name instead of the Cloud, then 2.0 will be incorrect.

What say you SM? Got a name for us...you know we are going to talk about this for months...:)

VXC2.0 could be appropriate name for now. It looks like a cloud, should works like a cloud and it is evolved. For me it is a Cloud 2.0.
Also "Cloud" is awesome name for this vape. Especially combined with the company name. It's ingenious like "MFLB". I like "VXC" name even more. It's so good name they should keep it. :)
If you want adifferent name, then what you would like to exhale after vaping more than a cloud? A cloud on exhale is what we are looking after right? At least on vids, otherwise we hold them.
...
Am I the only one who doesn't like the look of that model?
I love that industrial look of original Clouds.
Is it really going to be colder? It looks even thinner at the top and the heat shield is missing.
The bamboo seems centered in the new model. That means a lot of space in the back.
What is going to be there? Slots for batteries somehow? :mmmm: I remember batteries mentioned in the patent. Yet I don't know how could a Cloud run on them when it need 110V AC now. Would need more circuitry and more batteries...
I am sure guys at VXL know what they are doing, there is probably some different and better insulation under the hood.
Also I would expect the knob being deeper in a new Cloud (therefore safer).
The knob on my Cloud is the big plastic one. and I'm scared if it tipped over to the front on some hard surface it could break the knob. Even when it is installed in that pit it still protrudes out. And in that new pictrire it looks even more protruding.
...
I can see why happy owners are so quiet here - they're just satisfied and floored to complain.
And the vape is too user-friendly to discuss anything about it. No learning or mods needed.
The Cloud is also very powerful VAS medicine, and FC is like VAS hospital. People with faulty medicines visit a hospital.
Maybe my Cloud is not the prettiest (which is sad when i know how pretty they can be) but it is a Cloud. And it kicks ass - already for 2 months. I can see it will be even uglier in the future - the paint goes of really easily, not everywhere. Maybe some day it would be aesthetically better to go silver.
...
It is just outrage what the manufacturer was and is capable of doing to harm such good company as VX. Stealing future plans is one thing - already very malicious. But sabotaging the line and then even spitting on then on-line - that is outrageous hit under the belt. What sick mind could initiate a sabotage like this...:(
