Arizer Solo

Thank you for the response.

I did interrupt the charging, after 3-4 hours, because the green light never went solid. I wanted to turn it on so that it would indicate how far it's charged. It only showed that it reached 6, even after another 4 hours of charging.

Afterwards I turned it on, with heat level 7, and left it on for two separate 12 minute sessions. The battery dropped from 6 to 3. Is this normal, or should it last longer? Because I've contacted the supplier, and they'll send a replacement for just the unit at the start of next week, but I'd only want to do that if the unit I currently have is faulty or less than optimal.

Can anybody conclude if there's a problem with the battery? Or know how I should test if there is a problem? I'm charging it again to see how far it gets this time.

Not sure if you're still having issues or not... when I first charged my solo up i let it charge to like 6 used it once because I was so excited and then let it charge for a while. It got up to 7 and still flashed for a few hours that first charge. I wouldnt worry about it just plug it in and leave it till it goes solid.

Interesting. So why is the Infamous Bubbler so popular? Have people found that it just happens to pair well with the Solo or that it gives the best bang for your buck? How easy is it to clean?

There are 2 important factors with water tools, volume and diffusion. more volume and more diffusion each mean less harsh but less flavor
Does having less flavor affect the high in any way?

Basically, I've been getting a little bit of throat irritation from my Solo (nothing too bad but enough to be annoying) and was hoping to find something to slightly temper the vapor.

Happy accidents are sometimes the mother of invention. I was using my Solo with my old school bong which I had just converted to a standard 14mm fitting, when the whole rig started to fall over.
Of course I made a grab for it ; saved the bong, but broke my straight tube off right where it connects to the Solo.
Well, way back in this thread, I remembered that a member had modified one of these broken in a similar fashion. So I took out a pair of pliers(wear eye protection for this) and broke off the jaggled edges and removed the four hole glass "screen". I then wet sanded with very fine sand paper. The glass was soft and sanded down great. I left one "notch" which was also sanded. When I was done I put a grommet in the top opening of the Solo:

solo1.jpg

The smaller diameter of the stem now fits through the grommet and holds the stem secure.

Looks like this inside:
solo2.jpg

It can't be seen in the picture, but I cut a screen to size and placed it right where the tube narrows.
Loads normally, whole bud or suction method for fine stuff. Just screw the cap on and you are ready to go. This has now become my favorite stem. With a piece of tubing on the end, this can also be used with your water tool. Nice and secure. The larger diameter piece is under the grommet and can't come out even if shaken.

I took the advice of some members and utilized the services of my local glass blower. He made a great downstem with 14mm connection and a Gong:

gong3.jpg

Bet you can't guess where that Gong came from! All I can say is don't be too hasty throwing that oil diffuser that came with your Solo in the trash just yet.
Futher tweeking may be needed though. The diameter may have to be enlarged a bit(although one of those "O" rings everyone else has may work if I could only find one). The bowl size may also be reduced with a glass "screen" if this size is too long. I'll let you know how it goes. Also plan on having better diffussion on the downstem. The bong blurps and chugs so bad my wife complains about the noise.

gong2.jpg

Of couse an air path had to be created by "punching" a hole in the bottom of the bowl.

gong1.jpg

Going this route enabled me to put off buying a new bubbler, though I'd love to get one of those Blackleafs. Really like the smooth, non irritating vapor with water.

it's popular because it is $40, about the cheapest glass you will find with a gong fitting that won't break from normal handling. Less flavor won't affect it at all. more cooling (from duffusion or volume) well allow more vapor to condense on the glass itself but I honestly feel this is offset by allowing you to take bigger hits. I don't know if it's just a mental thing from my combustion days but I swear bigger hits get me higher. also if you use distilled water so there's no calcification in your glass you can easily reclaim any condensate from your pieces

any loss due to additional condensation will be very minimal on a bowl by bowl basis (might add up over the course of a few ounces) but you asked the question so I'm giving full disclosure

Important to rinse with distilled whenever you clean it as well or it'll calcify. That happened to my bong when I let it dry out from tap water its all clouded up and not in the least bit sparkly

For my glass - I learned from a few at VXC and it works great. I bought a big fucking bucket from home depot, I dilute at a 1 to 8 ratio bottled water to simple green. At night before bed I drop my glass in and in the morning that shit looks brand new! I use rezblock between cleanings and with that combo my glass always looks slick.

If it's a piece with lots of percs I do a simple ISO rinse after the soaking. By the way, obviously after the soak in simple green I rinse it with soap and water.

another great method, I personally don't bother with my claim out of my glass (I do save all my stem oil though) I'm too much of a neat freak with my glass. I rinse then with hot hot water every time and clean with iso probably twice a week on average

edit: what's funny to me is back when I was combusting, I used to let my glass get so dirty which is so much more disgusting than it would be to let my vapor pieces get a little dirty

For all you people using the Solo with a water tool, can you tell me how it is? How much of an improvement is it? How much do I have to spend to get a nice setup?
It's fun to mix it up however the standard stock glass straight stems are just fine.
For water use a bubbler.
The larger water pipes kind of weaken the vapor.
I prefere the bubbler as I do not exceed level 4 where some have no problem with a larger water pipe and use a higher setting.
Just saying we all have various needs!

Pipedaddy has a cheap good one.
Another one that I use most is the BLACK LEAF Bubbler from planet vapes.

No hurry really the SOLO is a great device the way it comes and I love the way it vaporizes!

Have you tried the higher temps and just dont like them?
I usually do 4 and 5 in the day and 6 at night

This one's easy. Go get some "CLR", Calcium, Lime and Rust remover. A liquid the hardware store has. Amazing stuff, rinse it inside with some of that and follow it with fresh water. Does a great job on klaged up tea pots and stuff too. And the deposits on the shower door, and the ring around the sink drain, and those water spots on the kitchen faucet....

The junk was dissolved in water in the first place, all you have to do is shift the chemistry a bit and it'll dissolve again.

You know I wonder am I a wuss?
I like flavor way too much so vaporize at lower than most.
High? VERY!

I don't go pass 4.
The flavor is always good.
I can't medicate if the vapor even has a faint burnt pop corn smell!
Doesn't seem to bother most people.
Flavor is pretty important in my case!

The flavor at 5 is still good imo and 6 I don't really notice much of a good or a bad flavor more neutral. But I do 4 5 6 at night to get flavor and then sedating effects. Maybe I'm just used to the taste. You shouldn't be scared to try it tho. I was stuck on temp 5 for ages until someone suggested 6 and I do really enjoy the extra vapour/effects at night. Give it a try if you like it do it. If you don't like it just go back to what you were doing ;) no huge loss for trying new things

Is clr something that's safe to use in a bong though? I hate using chemicals in something that I'm inhaling off of

lol wouldn't that be awesome? i don't know why the other people are taking so damn long to stock up when its so much in demand? two months is a long time to restock!! they wont even answer my emails! smh

FFS, you can use the solo with the infamous as is. I piece of 1/4" tubing right to the extra piece like OF said works perfect and you don't need any hands. I lay it on the bed if I use it that way. You can then just use your hand to lift to clear. You don't need a gong with any bubbler unless you are going to use them a lot. I don't have a gong and more the likely never will. You can also use 1/4" tubing connected to 1/2" tubing to mate without the extra piece. If yours is a bit big then just add another piece to make it wider on the 1/2".

You can also just get the 14" and a reducer although that I am not sure if it works but in my head it does.

already thought about that idea but that would be adding too many glass pieces, i am trying to keep it at minimum. also tried the tubing but couldn't find the tubes at my local home depot store. at the moment i am using a mini bong, requires two hands but it works.

My Pinnacle water tool broke at the gong(glad it wasn't on my solo or nano)
It did fall over in a wooden cabinet.and the ring around the gong broke.

So now the search for something better/safer.
I like bluerap00 blue bubbler, maybe the Infamous....something I. Oils put the solo on top of .

Yes, I think so (or I guess I wouldn't suggest it). It's Lactic Acid (basically) in water. It rinses easily and completely. And it has very minor vapor issue even in concentrated form, it doesn't evaporate or anything like that. Like I said, it's commonly used in food prep items where you'll be drinking the residue (if there was any).

Treat it with due respect. Put a small bit in some water and let is soak a bit then wash it and rinse well. I think you'll be very impressed.

I clean forgot to mention soaking the shower head in it. Even without dismounting it, holding it's little face in a bowl of it for a minute then running the shower makes it run like new again.

Just don't drink it or get it on bare skin full strength.

I'm the same way. I vape at 3 and then up it to 4 near the end to get one or two last hits off it.

Thanks for the informative and speedy responses to my queries, guys!

Is the Infamous Bubbler a limited time deal or is it normally always $40?

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
Always 40 but I think 50 with shipping. It does go out of stock for really long periods of time but has been in stock for about two months now.

Hello everyone! I've been using my solo for about 2 weeks now and I'm loving it. Just had a few quick questions. I ordered a straight stem from planet vape that comes with the o-ring. The problem is my solo cap won't screw all the way down with the o ring in. It seems like the the ring is just a tad too thick. Anyone else have this problem?

Also thinking about getting the infamous bubbler as someone mentioned above since its cheap. Just wondering what kind of gong adapter I need for the infamous and where I should order it from. Thanks

don't force it, you can break the housing. there are 2 different caps so some well screw all the way down some won't. it really only stops about 3/4 of a turn short. my cap is the short one and if you screw until you feel pressure stop right there, the friction holds it in place. mine hasn't moved in months and I'm not exactly gentle with mine. if it really bothers you, you can try to carefully shave it down with a razor blade or try sanding down both sides.

the infamous is 18mm, most get their gongs from PV

Just posting to say my Velleman universal power supply, $20 on amazon, can run at both 12v at 1A and come with a tip that fits the solo :)

I have a 9v 5a PSU for a stereo amp I use to heat the solo if its dead
