I just got mine in the mail :) Pics are coming soon.

I loaded about 1/4 of the bowl as I saw people saying, and it was nice, but I didn't get a lot of hits out of it. I then decided to load it with 0.2g of purple people eater... Set it to about 1:00, took a few hits, I'm high as a dog right now . Giant, giant clouds. I'm very impressed with this thing, and my glass temp control has an awesome swirl in it. Definitely worth the money.

I have to ask though, how do you see how high you can get the temp control without combusting? I don't want to accidentally combust and have to clean it out already D:

Congrats!! :)
as for how high.... I would not go much above where you are getting clouds. Finish a wandfull to no visible vapor, then inspect the ABV if it is deep brown, I would go no higher.. if light tan, maybe a notch up...
You don't have to dial it in first day!... besides all bud vapes a bit different.
Within a few dozen wandfuls, the dial and the variables in different buds will become second nature to you, like driving a stickshift!

Depends on how fast/slow you breath in. I take almost every wand I pack up to full temperature after it stops hitting at lower temps, and have never come close to combustion. On the other hand I've read reports here of people who have combusted from around the 3 or 4 o'clock point. Seems to be the only difference could be that combusters were breathing in extremely slowly to keep the airflow that hot.
Make sure you keep your intake nice and steady and I would say move the wand around to prevent hot spots but I see you don't have the standard connection. Stirring between each hit also helps the load vape evenly.

Nice Surfer by the way, enjoy it, it's a beast!

Thanks for the tips. I went up to about 3:00 and the weed turned dark brown, it didn't combust but I'm pretty sure that's the limit. I'll probably only go up to about 2:30 from now on. I love it so far though, I'd forgotten it was possible to get this high :o

Also, if you feel like you want a few more hits, you can dump out the wand contents when it stops hitting around the 3 o'clock mark, re-grind any remaining nugs with your fingers and return the fine dust-like AVB to the wand, whereupon you will be able to extract at least 3 more good hits on average.

As I said before, the limit is what you make it, you can take it up to full temperature if you like or not move at all past 12/1 o'clock. Like Vitolo said, as the weeks go by you will find your sweet spots for sure.

Btw, got the standard wand and HC and after trying all three kinds, I think that the standard setup is the best. I get thick vapor at just about 1:00 and it's fun twisting and turning the wand to get the best hit. Great recommendation.

That is actually the only way that people are convinced that standard aand hand held gives best control... is to try them all!.
I am glad you're happy! :D

cluffy.. I love all of the wands.. and I don't want to discourage anyone from trying all of them.
I just know what feels good for my use!
I also am happy that DBV and SSV are still pumping strong!

Gentlemen, you've got it all wrong. :/ What are you thinking?

I've tried both, and ground glass is conclusively the best.

:p

Nah, I can't hold my bong, take the whip adaptor from the joint to clear it, and hold the wand with just my two hands. Something would drop. Used to use the standard regularly for a change of scene, but haven't bothered in ages.

Absolutely the best, if you want a hand free or a bong hook up. ;)

Exactly. I like the standard too, for the additional control, but both connections have their advantages. Like auto vs. stick shift, it's all personal preference.

Don't forget that draw speed also affects your temp. You can be lazy at times and adjust your temp just by speeding up or slowing down your draw. The more you use it, the more it'll become 2nd nature to you.

Hihi, OK right I forget I own an AquaVape for moisturized hits on my ssv, and that with my 14' mm bubbler and the standard wand everything is quite easy too. I can totally feel you on the bong complication though.

Lets refine the statement: "FOR DRY HITS Standard HC hands down...What else? :D "

What makes the standard different then the spherical? I know the physical differences, but why is it liked so much more.

I'm going to agree that "accessory" use is simplified with a hands free. I decided I want my cake, and want to eat it too!
I have an order coming from 7th Floor. They were so kind to me, in putting together the perfect dream package.
Fatty Vapor Tamer
MouthPiece
2 waterpipe adapters (so I can alternate downstems)
pvgreen2.jpg

The order should arrive soon, and I have a friend making me a glass bong.
Within the week, I will see how difficult it is to use the SSV with standard HC, Hand held wand, Fatty Vapor Tamer w/Mouthpiece, water adapter, and Bong.
The video should be a blast! ;)

I don't know that it is liked so much more. Many do like them, but if you ask the distributors, they do not sell all that many in comparison to all wands. It has a slightly smaller chamber area. I think perhaps they feel a certain secure feeling when the "ball is in the socket". They may feel like it takes less focus than visually guiding the wand to the HC!
once there, they can do the aiming by feel.

When I got my SSV, it came with the ground glass whip. I like it a lot.

So far I have made some firecrackers with some avb I had saved, but they didn't work. Back to the drawing board I guess.

Accidentally blew a little bud onto the heating element and burned it lol. By what method can I clean the brown stain from off the glass cover?

Also, if I slide off cover, is it as simple to slide back on ?

It happens.
I know of a member here that soaked the glass in bleach overnight. 91% Iso should do it too. It may not require a soak!
Please look at the manual while you do it, so you do not forget....
It is easy to put back on, but pay attention to the way you remove it, so that you put the "spacer" back in in the same way.
Let us know how that worked. :)

Ok, cool. I bought some glass/ceramic/metal cleaner from the head shop and wondered if it would be fine to use. I presume those are normally used for bowls, so I should be good?

I must sound like a total noob lol.

Because its the baddest connection known to man. Its so badass in fact, If I didnt keep my SSV in its protective pouch locked up it would be out cruising the neighborhood getting into fights and impregenating the womens. It would hide my socks and car keys (when it wasnt joyriding) and max out my credit cards.

Yeah, this connection is a bad mofo - its best that we just not question and merely appreciate it for its awesomeness. :brow:
