I was about to make this EXACT POST!!!!! Fucking CRAZY!!!!!!!

Haha well I guess I don't have a dud then. Its to be expected with 2 piece grinders but not to the extent that scs does. Ive had many cheap grinders that are a better fit.

What is this? Can I use chapstick/Burtsbees/vaseline on the sides and how often should I apply it? I also have access to silicone caulk could that be used?
Strange, my biggest complaint from my old grinder was how it would get gunked up with resin and stop turning. I haven't had this issue with my SCS at all.

Okay, well I DO use a small, stiff paintbrush to brush out the bits frequently. I have the black SCS, so it is very easy to see the bits, and I like to get them all when I shred a load.

Maybe that's why mine is still pretty clean.

Yes, medium.

Ah ok. No idea why they perform differently then.

Yeah me too and it still gets gunked up daily. I brush all the stuck bits into my kief box after each use

I should add that it doesnt get gunked up enough to stop turnng but only because I clean i.t Otherwise Id give it a week before it becomes un-usable

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
The only time I had gunking/turning issues with the SCS 2pc I have was when I realized I was putting the nugs in the wrong side which wld mash the goods fitting them together.

It was one of those Duhhh moments I had. Ever since pressing the nugs into the 'inside' piece and slipping the side that fits 'outside' of the grinding action I havn't had an issue at all.

Try to not clean your grinder for a few weeks see what happens. I do this method as well but I get the gunk problem. However, when I notice Its getting harder to grind I know its time to clean my grinder. SO I guess its a good and bad thing.

Cloudy...
It seems like my SCS really enjoyed his bath and has a nice gift for me in form of ISO reclaim:

All the kief still inside, only cleaned teeths and screen parts with ISO + toothbrush.

hey guys time for a new grinder, gave my friend my old one.I have only had cheaper aluminum ones from lhs and have decided it's time to invest in a solid name brand. wondering what you guys think between these 3- Space Case, Mendo Mulcher, and Santa Cruz Shredder.

SC and SCS have the best appearance, as far as no burrs from manufacturing. I've had two Mendo's and they were awful for getting a fine grind. Unless they've changed the tooth design from that 'cutting only' style, I wouldn't consider that brand. The diamond shaped teeth on the SC will cut easier, while the SCS has more cutting edges. Either brand is great in a 2 pc. design, but if you're looking for a 4 pc., they're all overpriced IMO. I'm in the minority for not being on the SC/SCS bandwagon, but I've used way too many different brands to ever be convinced that spending that much for a 4 pc. grinder is worth it. Cheaper brands don't have the same perfection in finish, but a few burrs make no difference in actual use, and all the brand names use high quality aluminum and 100% CNC manufacturing these days. I've been using an under $20 4 pc. for years. The days of having to spend a lot for a good 4 pc. grinder are long gone. OTOH I wouldn't buy one from the local convenience store, and head shop prices are probably not too good either.

SCS or Space Case. I have a Space Case & have had no problems with it for a couple of years now. However, If & when I need to pick up a new one....I will be switching to a Santa Cruz...they are the top of the heap right now.:)

I bought a large SCS from my LHS about a month ago and couldn't be happier. The gunmetal color finish is very nice and the grind is great. The whole thing just feels very solid and well made.
i have the gunmetal color as well. mine is a mini

This was waiting in My Mailbox for me yesterday. I must say, Thank you again to FC for hosting and too the Herbilizer Team for sponsoring a gr8 giveaway

This Shredder is built to very high quality standards. It is heavy in the hand, which is great and it makes my old grinder feels like cheap tin when compared to this one! The overall shredding action is next to effortless. The color is sweet, the picture just does not do it justice!

I love my SC collection
I LOVE my Santa Cruz Shredder
Before I had these, I had two Cosmics.
I loved them and thought none better till I got Space Cases....
I felt the same about Space case until I got the SCS.

I finally gave my Cosmic grinders away to community members.

SCS can even be more expensive if you buy the industrial size model...:)
