I don't think its the charger... a wire was not connected inside when i disassembled. When i put battery in when i had them connected they just sizzled and one burned down slightly.. WTF?

Edit: ill try and post a pic later but its one of the wires within the rubbery clear casing toward the top of the unit, just below heating element and right above the battery chamber. It was coming out of the part of the circuit board labeled T2

I think you may have big troubles here. There are four wires from the heater. Two larger ones are the actual heater element (nichrome as a guess). I think labeled "H"? They have the larger connector and heavier wire leading to the circuits below. The other is the temperature sensor (thermistor I think), very low current, basically zero power. Therefore smaller connectors and wiring. Those wires should not burn up unless something else is wrong. If one overheated and disconnected itself and you reconnect it, it's going to overheat again unless you fix the underlying problem.....which is not a broken wire most likely.

It may be time to send it in?

spouti, if you look back one page I posted pictures of my unit with the heater cover off, the gap in there is pretty small so trying to clean out with iso would be a bitch, you can't even fit a q-tip in there. I would say so a dry burn at 7 but blow through the stem every minute or so while hot, this well force any vaporized bad stuff out of the unit, after that it might still smell a little but should be safe to use and the smell will go away with use, I think mine last maybe a day and a half

Well, it took me 3 charges to get rid of most of the smell. Through the 2nd and third i blew air through it a few times. It mostly smelled like heated steel at the end. I can testify and say planetvape and arizer's kevin have been very patient and professional through the process, because i lost patience after emptying the 2nd charge. Third one's the charm!

Here are my initial thoughts. Stealth seems good. I walked outside vaping i didnt notice heads/eyes looking at my solo when crossing someone. I held like i would hold a redbull with a big straw :D

I had kept leaves over a month ago and got good results with them. But im still not sure on how i prefer pulling the air. It feels like an eternity to fill my lungs! But I think its better to puff it like a joint on the 7 setting when "killing" the bowl. Just a thought, I need more try.

Im not sure whats the best way to save a bowl/stem for an ulterior vaping session. I dont know if i can simply leave it in there. Maybe pull the stem out a min or 2 waiting for cool down and stick it back ready for next session?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That's the way I usually hit it dry no matter what temp I set it at. OF has posted about using caps similar to MFLB battery caps but rated for high temp. You could leave it in there but you will lose some to conduction, to be honest that is my preference but only out of shear laziness

Late night, late to rise for a change. :D

Straight out to the backyard sun with the trusty solo and a couple of GonGs full. Kudos to jam, rcflo, kingofnull, et al for the recommendation, and to flo and kon for patiently addressing my reservations about using the pinnacle wt with the solo.

The performance, convenience and perfect suitability to the solo of this little wt still took me by surprise. It somehow smoothes the solo vape on 7 and delivers nice hits while conveniently held in one hand by many folks. All of our family preconceptions about size/diffusion and their relation to vape smoothness are challenged by this ht. It certainly matches the solo better than any of the limited glass options hereabouts.

It seems to work equally well with all of our PVHEGonGs. The regular 14mm and 18mm (with adapter) GonGs work just as well as the trusty Turbo 18mm. The 18mm versions are actually easier to hold since the adapter increases the space between solo and wt while allowing fingers to avoid the heat of the GonG.

Our solo hasn't been used without the pinnacle wt since we got it a few days ago. The two are a pair from now on and the solo won't be used without this wt for the foreseeable future.

BTW has anyone else noted that their Turbo (not short) versions of the PVHEGonGs have a bowl about 75% as long as the regular PVHE version? They work great, especially with fine screens instead of the standard and packed tighter than the regulars, but it seemed peculiar that they are shorter. The PV description doesn't indicate it.

there is a lot of info in 600 pages, some of which won't apply to the newer models. I would read though the last 20 pages at least though just to get caught up. I would also try searching for a couple different keywords like o-ring, battery, charger, cap. Try filtering posts by just OF, who has posted a lot of useful info on those topics in here. that way you can get to the page that's on topic then read everyone's posts about that subject. You could also look for postings by ataxian for a couple nice water paths or go read through the glass threads, there are just too many variables to point you in any direction for a water tool but there are several suggestions anyone could give you. a lot of people like the $40bubbler from pipesdaddy, there is the VBPN WT that many like to pair with the solo but it's up to you

If anyone has friends that smoke blunts still, the plastic tube that several brands come in now work great for travel tubes also. They may not be as sealed as the travel tubes but they work and can be bought at any gas station instead of having to order then and pay for shipping. If you are already ordering something from PV anyway though I would just go with their tubes.

Next time I order from PLANET VAPES I will add a few with my order.

Hey guys,
Decided to get a Solo and try it out since I am waiting on inh XPs to get sorted out and make sure they are reliable. Only had it about a week but enjoying it so far. I really like the battery life information, it seems well thuoght out and feels solid in my hands.

Definitely a solid little vape. To me it is like a mini cloud :) I need to try out the Planetvape stems. I am curious how much they help the draw, as it is rather restrictive on this vape. But I think more of the restriction comes from the interior airpath than the tubes. I don't really enjoy the solo with a water tool because it seems to make the drag more apparent (usually the opposite.. hrm).

What is maintenance like on these? The only thing I don't like about the design is how easy it is for chunks of ABV to fall into the heater area if you accidentally tap the solo on a table or something. I haven't had mine long enough yet but I can imagine that area eventually getting pretty gross. Is it an isssue? Do people clean it out often?

Well I put a screen and close the chamber so nothing can fall down...but if you have the stock stem and you have no screens I'll cut the herb more roughly and I won't stir (you don't need to) then the herb will be stuck and pieces won't fall down...there's not much to clean apart from the stem itself, if you vape correctly the solo itself should be clean...which makes it so awesome...the dirty stem can be washed with ISO and be used again :)

mOsh you give a lot of good advice!

I do the double screening and it's a flavor enhancer!

Did you have a chance to use your BLACK LEAF?

Hehe! that's awesome I can do that as well with my cyclobowl and LSV wand...
Perhaps I'll get a female PVHES...I will try tomorrow morning solo and wand.

The black leaf was shipped just few days ago as I was waiting for a custom made male to male 18.8m adapter... :)

Planet Vape is thee best

There should be PHVES GoNG Travel Tubes...

Can you elaborate on how to comes to the VX Cloud? As you know, my Cloud is dead and I'm very sad right now. I've been needing a portable vape.

I want one that can get the ABV as dark as the Cloud. My Cloud ABV was almost black, literally one shade away from being black. That's how I like my ABV. Can the Solo do that and can it do it without combusting?

The solo is king of the portables as of right now, yeah? I just want the best. I know "best" is subjective, but you guys know what I mean.

Maybe I should just wait for the Ascent?

It doesn't get as black as the cloud for sure, but I'm glad its not...I think it might start combusting when its near black (236C is the start) ...

But...the solo is very efficient. when its done the herb is 100%
I remember once I get few hits on the highest hitting session after I had done a cloud session so while its not the cloud its just damn good and man for one person I think its just good enough...with the PVHES is just fun...no need to stir, no need for space just light it up wait few minutes and you're ready...the ease along with the superb efficiency is just what make this so special IMO.

Not only are they the best there really low on price!
Have one in your quiver!
agreed, I think the solo is the best of the portables by far, the only category it fails in is complete stealth. For the price though it can't be beat. I know the ascent is getting a lot of attention but I just don't see how it could be $100 better than the solo.

If the SSV isn't cutting it for you I don't think the Solo will. It's a GREAT device and I'd recommend to anyone looking for a solid portable. However it is certainly not on the same field as the cloud in any aspect. If you want a replacement that will satisfy you I'd say keep at it with the SSV and make due till you can replace your Cloud. No portable is gonna do it (maybe minivap but I haven't tried one) if you are looking for a portable get the Solo it's solid but DO NOT expect high end home unit production from it. It can't keep up with my LSV never mind a Cloud. It does get my ABV really dark and produce BIG rips. IMHO It's like a aaa ball player trying to break in to the bigs.

Also I'm sorry for your loss. could you please keep the forum updated on your warranty experience I'm interested to see how VXL handles these "new" units failing so quickly.

Good luck!! I sincerely hope you find what you're looking for.
