Do you have a pic of the bubbler you're talking about? I am going to go to my headshop today or tomorrow and see what I can find there.

There are many styles of bubblers/bongs available that would work fine with the HA, it's more of a personal preference.

I was just trying to convey that the stock mouthpiece is more stable with an 18mm piece, since it fits INSIDE of it. If you go with the gong adaptor instead, it is available for use with either 14 or 18 mm glass.

Hey there! I just discovered that one of my solo pvhes gong stems fit all the way down inside the crucible, I had to add a few of those larger high temp O rings (thermovape) to make a good air seal, but it is working great like this!! I really haven't spent much time using the HA with glass, so I am enjoying the process. I had been thinking of getting the glass HA stem from PV, but for now, this will be a good substitute. :D This is great news for me, as I am considering downsizing my vape collection a bit more, and this just kept the HA in the game a bit longer. I do like this vape, I feel it's one that does not get as much deserved attention, esp. for the price, and versatility. Being able to blow a bag or use whip or glass is a nice combo. It doesn't make super dense thick clouds, but I am getting a very generous amount of vapor none the less, and it is very potent. Also love how durable this vape is, I have very little fear taking this one out to use with a group, or just inexperienced people. Also like how it goes up to 400, I have been running mine around 375, mostly. I blew up a bag around 400 one night before bed, and it put both of us down fast, so I backed it down a bit for day time use. Definitely happy to have this one!

I just added a 2.1 to go along with my solo which I am waiting for very impatiently. thanks for posting that jam, perfect timing for me. If you have a second could you tell me if there is enough clearance for the HA to fit in the pipesdaddy bubbler.

Nice, let us know what you think of it!

@Jam - Thanks for posting pictures of your o-ring setup, that is a great idea.

Nice post, jambandphan03!

Do you grind at all with your HA?

There isn't really a need to, since it penetrates/extracts so amazingly, but if you want/need to see clouds, you can grind fine, and pack it in the crucible tight, and add a screen on top of the herb. The main reason you see more clouds is simply that there's more particulates in the air stream, giving an excess of condensation surfaces.

If you haven't tried already, I suggest you start at ~ 350F or so, to get some great tastes, and then ramp up to 375-400F as you go through a sesh, to change the cannabinoid ratios, and to get a more sedative effect, as well.

Cheers

Thanks for a good reference for a starting point, I have gotten pretty good at dialing in the effects I want with different settings on my solo but have read that the HA runs a little bit hotter, is there any truth to that? Also I was wondering if you can really get a couple of bags out of abv from a solo at 7? I hope so because that is part of the reason I got it, my gf has some pretty bad panic attacks and the CBD & CBN help her while higher amounts of THC actually triggers attacks, also sheprefers bags. My other reason is there have been too many scary moments passing around my solo/ water path in a room full of people used to smoking.

I just popped my HA onto my $40 pipesdaddy bub, and it will work...but...it is a bit top heavy and cumbersome. I would use caution.

I have been using ground herb in the HA, since I just pre-grind my stash for the day, using the solo stem, I just packed it tight, and inserted that into the crucible. When blowing bags, I do use the crucible alone, with a screen on top of a ground load. :D The exhale shows plenty of vapor.

Congrats on your foray into glass vapor path HAbubblin'! When I first started using my Solo GonG adapter with the Herbalaire I would put the crucible over top like you pictured, but later decided it was unnecessary. Now I just plop the HA directly over the bowl of the Solo GonG and it seems to work just as well.

I look forward to hearing more about your continued Herbalaire experience. It's great to see more people using the HA to its full potential rather than simply dismissing it as a low-priced bag blower/whip vape.

I don't have a solo myself, so I cannot speak about it directly, but the HA does have impressive precision/accurate temperature control. That, combined with its' stellar heat retention and unique flow design may give the impression that it runs hotter, but I don't believe that this is so.

From what I've been told, the solo does have very good extraction capabilities itself, just not quite as good overall as the HA. Will it extract more from solo avb at temp 7? If you match that temp 7 with the HA, it might squeeze a bit more out, but only testing will prove that. Perhaps you could vape @ 350-360F, increase the temperature, and let your gf vape at that point?

Remember, its the cannabinoid ratio (in her case, the cbn/cbd to thc ratio), that may make the key difference for her. Since temperatures for vaping are more a ballpark estimate and not exact, and the ratios vary with each strain, I would suggest some trial testing to try to find the sweet spot(s) for the both of you.

Good Luck

that's what I have been doing with her so far, she jumps in at the end of each bowl but we work opposite shifts so I was hoping she could use this on her own with just abv so she can whenever she wants instead of having to rely on me to start one for her. I guess I will just test it out when it arrives, nothing is as much fun as experimenting with a brand new toy

Point of advice to those with a glass on glass adapter; watch that you don't let the cord twist excessively at the point of connection with the herbalaire. It's able to twist around inside of the hole in the housing, and if this happens too much, the wires will break. I now know this from bitter experience.

Other than that, I've been incredibly impressed, especially with the performance and also with the ease of use of the planet vape design, compared to the original crucible. But do be careful with those cords if you're flipping the unit upside down often.

edit: Might have spoken too soon. Opened it up for a look inside (as an aside, it looks much better put together than the extreme does), and the wires were all intact. Not sure what happened; but I am sure I've not got a warranty left.

Thanks for the help guys. Now I need a glass piece that will go very well with the HA, possibly a bubbler. I don't like dry hits. Something under $200 and in stock. Any recommendations?

So my HA finally came and it is amazing! But prior to it arriving I had been going through this entire thread to learn as much as I can.

A bunch of pages back there was a post about drilling into your teflon mouthpeice to fit Arizer glass into it, making it an all glass pathway. Does anyone have any ways of expanding that hole other than drilling (I don't own a power drill and would like to avoid buying one at the moment).

Also, does anyone have the 5 bag adapter, and can you use it with less than 5 bags at a time without vapor going out of the unused holes?

you could use a hand drill instead of a power drill, sorry not trying to be an ass but there really is no substitute for the right tool for the job. I also just got my HA and at first I wasn't a fan because I kept comparing it to my solo. After giving it a fair chance though I think I have my technique down now and am ready to start modding mine.
I was thinking about measuring to see if a MFLB stem will fit right in the mouthpiece. Then I can run a silicone tube to either a glass mouthpiece or an elbow for my bubbler.
If anyone has any input on using aMFLB stem, it would be appreciated.

Yeah I figured a hand drill would be the only other option.

Someone actually posted about that exact idea here with a little tutorial: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/herbalaire-h2-1.276/page-27

I read back about 15 pages, guess I should have gone a little further back. looks like that might be your best option then, no drilling necessary.

What would be the purpose of boring out the stock mouthpiece with a drill?
If you want to use a wider diameter of tubing just stretch it over the top of the stock mouthpiece.

If you own a Solo and want to try a glass vapor path: try putting your Solo tube directly in the HA.
There is a little bit of wiggle room, which results in higher airflow, but it works very well; If you are a cloud chaser you can use a small ring of silicone tubing under the Solo bowl to create an airtight seal in the HA.

The Solo tube goes direct into the Herbalaire. You use it in place of the teflon mouthpiece + crucible.

Ok that makes a lot more sense

You can also get a 3 bag adaptor from HA, if that would meet your needs better.

That is probably what I will get then, I was wondering about the physics of it and why anybody would buy the 3 bag adapter if they could get the 5, but now I understand that the vapor will be pouring out of all holes, regardless of being attached to a bag or not.
