Nope, haven't sold it. That's the fantastic thing about the SSV, reliability. I know Vito has had his on 24/7 for three years straight.
But nothing compares to my Cloud. I don't think I'm going to vape until I either get this one repaired, or a new one.

I remember how it put me to sleep so easy, I would fool myself into thinking it wasnt working well, then 10 minutes later be in bed, with a cheesy smile, then off into Avatarland.
Yes, I am quite sure. I think there was a lot of resin/particulate in the water and that got stuck to the inside of the bamboo. It's not running any more hot than usual. Did your cloud start combusting after a blow back or was the damage caused by something else?

Morning folks. I'm so sorry to hear about all of these dying clouds. Every few months I pop in to report on my old ticker #938 purchased in Aug 12. This Cloud has been running non stop since Hurricane Sandy without a blip (24/7 via WeMo). And prior to Sandy it was running for a few months non stop as well. It appears that units built around this time seem to be extremely reliable.
Now my second Cloud is a Non ticking Pre + with the 90 min shutoff and the rubber ring at the bottom of the bamboo. I have only used it a handful of times but I can tell you that I prefer my old ticker to that one. I think some modifications have happened to the bamboo but on my newer model the draw is more restricted that my ticker. It also appears that the hole on the bottom is a bit smaller.
Whatever the case is I hope that VXL gets its QC issued sorted out as IMO and testing this Vape can be bullet proof when you get a properly built and assembled unit. BTW...I have tipped it over numerous times and also have spilled water down the Bamboo and it recovered with no issues whatsoever.

I'm so sad. My SSV just doesn't cut it. The Cloud gets me so much higher, so much easier.
I want to get another Cloud as a backup for my Cloud, and I would if I knew it also wasn't a faulty one. I'm so sad right now.
After experiencing the awesomeness of the Cloud, using herb in any other manner other than through the Cloud feels like an absolute waste.
God, this fucking sucks.

If you are looking for a cloud backup, this may sound silly at first but I recommend the Vapocane.
I just got one a bit over a week ago and it is pretty amazing. It's possible to even get much darker ABV than the cloud and once you get a feel for it, there's almost no risk of combustion (only combusted the first day from improper technique). I actually prefer the Vapocane for kief over 2capping, although for instant use and ease of use the cloud obviously rules supreme.

I thought the Vapexhale took about 5-10 mins to warm up. That'd be about equal to the Vapocane.

It has been a crazy ride, that's for sure. I'm emotionally-exhausted. In one week I've had one of the best days ever (when I got my Cloud), and one of the worst (when it died).
Today couldn't get much worse (knock on wood). Cloud died. Spilled weed not once, not twice, but three times. And my sandwich fell apart earlier, all over my shirt.

I kinda feel like a jackass now recommending it to you.
I hope you get a good one.But just because mine died in less than a week doesn't change the fact that I was literally excited, like a little kid on Christmas morning, every day I woke up while it was working. It truly is an amazing, and from what I can tell, a revolutionary product... while it's working.

And yes, the withdraw is horrible, but I'm still glad I got it so I can know the difference of what I really truly want in a vaporizer and what I'll settle for.

How dark can the Solo get your herb? I need to get a portable vape. Maybe I should just wait for the Ascent.

It was the water cracking the bamboo and then causing the insulation was damaged ...

I go to hit it, first thing I do I accidentally blow in my whip, blow the entire bowl into the HC. I have a SHC, so a bunch of it got caught on the lip. I think, "oh, good, I can salvage some". Turn my SSV sideways, dump it onto a plate, set the plate down on my bed, plate slides off, all is lost.
Today has been fucking horrible. Somebody... just kill me. Just get it over with.
I'm about to just go sit in a corner and wait for the Sun to burn out.

Shit man I'm really sorry to hear that. Mine was not combusting but I don't know if there was any microscopic damage. When did this happen? Was yours an old generation one?

Oh come on you know what I mean. With the cloud you warm it up then hit whenever you like with no effort. You don't have to pause the movie to hit it. With the vapocane, each hit you need to drop everything and focus on not burning yourself.
Re: ABV, that's just comparing one persons abv... Just depends on how they used the tool on that one occasion.. It can get as hot as you make it but it is most certainly capable of vaping weed much darker than the cloud if you push it. To argue otherwise is like arguing a butane torch isnt hotter than the cloud. There is a unique burnt taste you get right before combustion and I never get that using the cloud. I think the cloud gives more consistent flavorful hits since with the vapocane you tend to exhaust most of the flavor more quickly.
The solo is not as dark as the cloud. It's maybe a shade darker than the volcano abv with a slight gradient of dark at the bottom and lighter at the top of the stem,
What I meant to say is that the vapocane isn't anything close to a cloud competitor or replacement... It's just a manual tool, but its a tool that can get you close to the clouds performance given enough skill and effort. That and the low price makes it a good backup option IMO.
Just got my new ELB's and I have to say I am a bit disappointed in myself. I thought my old one's were in pretty good shape until I saw these. Really, I would say VXC should have like an auto order system that just sends you a new set every 3 months. I would gladly set up an autodraft for that.
