Arizer Solo

I've recently bought the Solo. If I turn the heat up high, say to 7 or something, after a while the top half of the Solo gets so hot I can't touch it - not just by the chamber but the entire top half of the Solo. It's ok if I hold it by the base though. Is it normal for it to get this hot?

I love PA.

Fastest heating than heating from the battery imho and not using battery. I use it to warm up the unit indoor and then i go outside to vaporize and the battery take his duty from a heated unit for example. YOu can use solo as a logvape from a current source too.

I didn't try to plug PA in a car plug but it should be possible.

solo and PA are heavy duty for me. Every day a log vape in my hand to extract goods (almost) entirely throught water.
I'm gonna try using my PA in my car tonight, I mean its worth a shot. I'll report back tomorrow lol.

What do you guys think about a Headford inline triple doughnut bubbler for use with a Solo? I'd be using it to vape flowers through a PVHES GonG stem.

I wonder if this piece is sturdy enough to hold the Solo upside down in the joint without tipping?

Is there anything else I should consider for $200 or less? I'd maybe splurge for a Mobius Ion Matrix if they weren't perpetually sold out.

It looks like it would tip over from the weight of the solo. your best bet is to find something with the joint on the top of the can, dewaar or normal. After that it's a matter of personal preference.

To answer the question in regards to the PA - in short, it's all about the consistency. My m102's ceramic core retains heat very well, add in solid non - disposing power equals a home run. I can go and go and go at high settings which expells maximum cbd and cbn's giving me the highest dosage for my Parkinsons. The less shaking the better unless I'm in the mood for a margarita!

Got a chance to use the SOLO today.

Wow, what a flavor experience, and a very nice high. My friend, that I purchased the SOLO for, loves it!
We ran one stem together then I had to go. She ran another five or six, no coughing or sore throat.

Thanks for all the info.

I've noticed mine gets mildly warm when left on for the whole cycle on 7 unless it's in the sun or something. Nothing that I can't handle.

So hot you can't touch it? No exaggeration? I run my Solos at 7 regularly and they never get anywhere near that hot.

I would contact Arizer or your retailer.

I just unpacked the latest model of the arizer solo. At first I thought I had a short temporary problem when I couldn't fit the glass in: how wrong I was. I have spent hours trying to fit it in, leaving it on 410 temperature in hopes for expansion for not just 10 minutes, but for almost an hour.

I am very dissapointed in the solo for having such a frusterating problem. I am looking for solutions here; any tips? If worst comes to worst I will need to find some sandpaper for the glass or refund it.

edit^ fixed not long after post

Sorry you're having troubles, but if you know to run it full blast to soften the seal you know this is a common problem. I think it's safe to say most of us have had it to some extent?

First off, check both stems, in my case one is slightly bigger than the other. Use the small one, obviously, not the one you necessarily want. Heating it more than about 10 minutes is probably not going to get it any hotter, just waste battery.

I'd also unscrew the top cover, it makes it easier to see what you're doing. I find pushing it in at an angle (say 20 or 30 degrees out of plumb) then holding pressure in as you lever the stem square helps at first. This causes the rim of the stem mouth to hit the seal at 4 and 8 o'clock on the stem, 2 and 10 on the seal at first. Once you make it 3 or 9 o'clock for both the stem slides in.

If that still doesn't do it I'd try lubrication. Ideally would be a drop of VG or PG I'd think (got any e-juice or tinctures handy? Next best choice would be a scant bit of olive or salad oil. Even water or ISO is worth a try? All you need is a thin film on the working edge of the seal in the area we need (say 2 to 4 and 8 to 10 o'clock)?

Good luck, but it can be done.

Looks like a nice piece.
For the price I would get it.
Hurry up because you just exposed it to a lot of vaporist.
Buy it this morning or it's sold out.
I bought some cheap imports to try out water path.
What a waste of money on crap.

Planet Vapes has some cheap ones that do the job:

http://www.planetvape.ca/black-leaf-smoke-shower-micro-circ.html

It's under $175 and I would trust it.

Pipe Daddy has the cheap $40 bubbler that seems to work OK:

http://www.pipesdaddy.com/product-p/vp-0022.htm

Seems like a nice entry piece to WATER WORLD.

With a SOLO there are so many devices that will work!

I like this one as well however Is's at the high end of what is really needed:

Here's my next SOLO water path device: A little over priced however it's the unit I want!

Well, I converted a few more believers last night. I took my solo and shorty stem from Ed to a friends house last nightwho I have not seen for a month or two. I also took my tiny little grommet style bubbler and they were more than impressed with the set-up. A few minutes after I got there they started their preparation of two blunts (which they said to be their normal nightly intake) and as I saw them grinding up more bud than I would use in 2 weeks I offered them the challenge to let me use a quarter of what they ground up and use the solo for the rest of the evening. They mostly gave in but one of then ended up rolling a black and mild spliff (YUCK!)

After a few packs of the solo and maybe 45 mins. later, they were blown away. It was actually pretty funny as one minute we were talking and the next, everyone was silent, just off in their own, overmedicated worlds. :D Needles to say they were totally impressed and completely astonished by how little material we used in the process.

I still stand by my claim that if you can only have one vape, the Solo is the king.

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
I was speaking about the solo this morning. When I was getting into vaping after having my MFLB for a long time I was deciding between a DV and a solo. I chose the DV after asking some questions to the sales person at vapeworld. I think I was turned off by the shape and lack of stealth. I then got to try a solo last year and was impressed. You can find that if you read this thread or in the INH thread which I also got before the solo. It was just a different experience. I am very happy I got to try it or I would never have bought it. I also realized again two days ago it is important for me to switch vapes as they all give us our meds slightly differently. My tolerance is through the roof and I was getting zero relieve so I took out my INH two night ago which I haven't used in about a month and it definitely helped. I doubt for more then a day but it was different.

VAS is not only an addiction but in some ways important.

I just may cry, my solo seems to have crapped on me. When trying to charge or turn it on, the idle blue light flashes and then number 7... this repeats indefinitely when attempting to charge. I think i may have let a drop of fluid in while using before, but im not positive. HELP!

Try this ;

You may be able to manually reset your Solo.
Please try the following:
  • plug in the Solo unit to charger
  • press and hold both buttons for approximately 4 seconds
  • wait for 10 seconds then unplug from charger
Once you have done this try out the unit again.

This was posted by ONJ .
Hope this helps .

edit ;
Also , some have reported a faulty charger .

I don't think its the charger... a wire was not connected inside when i disassembled. When i put battery in when i had them connected they just sizzled and one burned down slightly.. WTF?

Edit: ill try and post a pic later but its one of the wires within the rubbery clear casing toward the top of the unit, just below heating element and right above the battery chamber. It was coming out of the part of the circuit board labeled T2

Twinklezz,
Fun additional Arizer Solo safety concern.

AFAIK this hasn't come up before, but I was looking closely at my only-used-once, gotten-by-trade glass PV stealth adapter, and I noticed the 4 intakes holes had ragged, super thin glass ends where they were blown out which I could easily break with the smallest nudging of a thin skewer. I don't know if PV makes their stems from Arizer Solo stock pieces or if they have another source for the bowl portion, but this adapter is in what I consider to be dangerous condition.

One way to make a hole in glass, the way done here, is to heat a small area of a glass tube with a flame and then blow air through the connected tube until that small area explodes out into the torch flame. This can leave jagged glass edges of varying sizes and even tinier glass fragments called "bubble trash" by lampworkers. Someone doing a good job will make sure those thin, delicate, potentially dangerous segments get hit with a torch and then condense down back into the surrounding glass harmlessly. This one PV stealth adapter stem did not have such treatment, and I'm going to clean it thoroughly, take it to the shop, cut it off near the offending area so I can correct the problem, and then will probably put a 14mm joint on it while also making some indentations for better airflow.
