Well if you guys don't recommend the pax what else would you recommend based on my criteria of needs?
If you like burnt popcorn flavors get your PAX.

keep in mind Big that this is his opinion.
for now i love my pax , taste good , work very well , stealth as sh*t.
if you dont mind glass pieces minus stealth get a solo, price is good.

but he is right on , whatever you get "In a couple of months you will buy something else."

You like the PAX?
My friends tell me the taste is kind of burnt with the PAX?
Is that not true?
Now I'm really confused!

IMO,
taste a better than a No2 on low and medium .
smoke-like cloud on high with smokey taste , nothing close to burnt.
i use medium .
if you run it on high and rape the bowl its gonna taste like crap for sure near the end.

it's been a month now so far so good.

Don't plan on using glass attachments like for pinnacle or attaching the vape to a bong, just using the vape as is on the go that I can throw in my pocket. I checked out the pinnacle at a lhs and don't like how loose the mouthpiece on the pinnacle is makes it look kind of cheaply made in my opinion but stickstones said they are making a pro so i'll check that out when it comes out. Don't know anything about inhalator xp will look that up now.

guwap...if the mouthpiece is a deal breaker for you then cross the Pro off your list as well since it will look almost exactly the same as the current unit and will use the same mouthpiece.

The Pax paved the way for stealthy, sexy vapes. Other companies are just now getting there. Five months ago I would have said get the Pax, but right now we are finally about to get some competition in the trendy portable vapes.

And you may still end up with a Pax, which is fine if that ends up being the vape for you. The Pinnacle and Ascent are, imo, session vapes as well, although they are better at shutting off than the Pax. Right now, the only on/off type vapes out there are the mflb, Palm and the FV. Am I missing any guys? There's probably a pen style vape out there that does this too like the TV.

Like I said stickstones I plan on doing more research and waiting for the ascent to make my decision, so I still have a good amount of time to learn about vapes.I feel like I have learned a lot already thanks to you guys and I've only been a member for a day. here is where I'm at as of right now. Pax was heavy favorite yesterday but now is just in the running due to what y'all have said. pinnacle don't like the mouth piece or the plastic but still need more research and if you guys think it's a good vape I'll try and get over the mouth piece. Ascent obviously waiting to come out and learn more about. And don't really know anything about the thermovape cera or inhalator xp but looking into those. If you have opinions on those again I'm open ears.

Cera likes money, for the body, batteries/charger (if you don't already have appropriate ones), and one core, you're at around $320? The company behind it is absolutely fantastic, any of the threads of their products will show them going above and beyond. Flower cart has a learning curve but only one person so far has actually said they didn't like it and sold it. No exp with INH other than they released the XP after doing well with the original Inhalater so that's a sign as well. Have you looked into the Arizer Solo?

$320 yea thats a bit much at least for my first, so I guess scratch that off the list. everyone keeps telling me to look into the solo but my main requirements are being discreet and portability to just slide into my pocket. and with the larger then the other portables I'm looking at and the glass stem mouth piece doesn't really look like it would be for me.

I think it varies by person, but I think if most people are completely open to vaporization they will find only positives. Besides the possible VAS and wanting to vape all day every day. But I think that can come with smoking in the form of glass and the traditional love for herb.

I vape with several of my friends. All of them pretty much only vape when they are with me. They enjoy it but none of them have given up smoking. Most of them would have a vape if it wasnt for entrance cost. They pretty much all like the taste, efficiency, and gentleness provided. They are content with what they have however, so why spend a bunch of money. I do have one friend who hates the taste and smell that vaped weed produces. The one that kind of lingers around your vape until it is cleaned. However I find it crazy that someone can find that more offensive than the dirtiness that comes with combustion. :2c:

An interesting thing I have noticed. 2 of my roommates have smoked for a couple years while 2 are very new to herb. The 2 that are new had vapes and smoking available whenever they chose to dabble, and I find they are much more fond of vaping than the ones already accustomed to smoking.

I have a friend who is an occasional smoker, like one hit. I've asked him to just try the vaporizer on several occasions and he just won't do it. Why, I don't know. For some people habits die hard.

Go check out the SSV VIP thread.

I have the VIP2, which you aren't looking for, but I believe that the VIP can do herbs... and Vitolo has done a lovely video on them, and reviewed them, in that thread.

It's about $120, is backed by 7th Floor, and looks pretty darned stealthy.

Just adding my 2 cents -- I've tried the Pax and I own the Pinnacle. They're both pretty discreet, with Pax getting the slight edge due to its very innocuous appearance (it could easily pass for a glasses case or something similar when the mouthpiece is pushed in). But the Pinnacle is also very discreet, especially odor-wise, and disassembled (again, a 3-piece unit) would be hard to identify.

The Pax gets the job done, and quite frankly, I thought the taste was pretty decent as long as you start out on the low setting. But it's not as efficient with herb as the Pinnacle is.

Regarding the mouthpiece on the Pinnacle, this is really only important, IMO, if you plan to carry it around in your pocket all the time. When I'm not using mine, it goes into a carrying case so I don't have a problem with it. It would be pretty easy to get a small padded case that could still fit in your pocket in which to place the components.

You can find the Pinnacle on eBay already for under $200. It is definitely the kind of vape that does better when you maintain it (ie, keeping the bullets clean, brushing the mouthpiece off after each session, all of which is very easy to do), so that should also be a consideration.

Like everybody else, I'm super curious about the Ascent, especially appealing because of the glass path.

Yea I think I'm just gonna wait for the ascent instead of getting anything else now.

XP? seems to fit your needs well.

I own the Solo. I am very happy with it. Still, I do want a stealthy vape for on the go. Right now the XP is in my sights, but I am waiting to see how the Ascent lives up to the hype (expectations?).

Seems the choice for you would be XP or Ascent...
