One thing worth trying is to add a final hit after every session to "clear" the vapor out of the pax but more importantly, to cool the oven off. I'm in the habit of this final long draw and I have found that it helps keep my cleaning frequency down.

Another thing that works when the pax is semi-dirty is to do the take-out-mouthpiece and heat it with your breath trick, but also get a little saliva on the part that will make contact with the spring area. This acts as a conductive lube replacement, imo.

after every session i take a draw from the closed mouthpiece.
once in a while i set the pax on "high" with a empty oven , and i blow trough the mouthpiece.

My 3rd replacement was addressed incorrectly and went back to Ploom. :( At this point, I honestly would rather have a refund, but since I originally bought my Pax from Vape World, that's not gonna happen. Other than the wrong address, excellent customer service from Ploom. They're sending my replacement FED EX with an extra charger, oven lid and mouthpiece! That was pretty cool of them even though I'll probably end up getting rid of it.

Has anyone used both one of these and a NO2? Or this and an Arizer Solo?
I am considering getting one since I have a Persei but never use it for oil lol
It seems smellier than a no2 or solo or something but it seems like the pax puts out tons of smoke! More than the others?

PS are there any glass on glass vapes other than the Ascent which doesnt exist yet?

I use all of the above.
The pax is a bit more easily detected by odor, because it is a pure conduction vape... that uses a tighter than average load. This loaf bakes in there so puts off more odor, as it contains more mass.
The Solo can be made to produce great clouds, if that's what you seek.
The NO2s load is stashed in the center of unit, and although baking.. it is in there loosely and not packed.. so there is less odor.

How do you feel about the 3 flavorwise? I cant remember if you've tried the Persei/Bender combo or not.

Yes I do have the Bender.
It has the purest flavors but is not as convenient to use on the go.
I think out of the 3 we spoke of, the Solo has the cleanest taste to me...
the NO2 and the Pax are about the same flavor-wise, only the load size of the Pax makes the flavor a more pronounced.

Hey guys,

I've had my pax for a few months. I'm curious has anyone done any experiments to see how much the pax "cooks" the flowers when heating up and in between hits. Does it really only vaporize when I inhale or is there loss of flower during heat up / cool down and in between hits?

Thanks for the response. Does this mean its bad to heat it up to only take a few hits at a time. I like to pack the oven and hit it throughout the day, but if I do that am I losing a lot of efficiency?

your better off pregrinding bud and bringing it with you in a small container, packing small tight loads, its the most efficient way to use the pax that I've found.

We're here to fuck shit up.
I load a full packed oven and my first session (about 5 large pulls) is on low. My next session (also about 5 large pulls) is on medium, as is my third session. I turn it up to high after all this to extract what is left and I can usually get about 5 or 6 pulls before the vapor is just not being produced anymore. This lasts me throughout the day until I can get home. Sometimes, I bring along some ground herb for another oven packing.

I get little no visible vapor on low but i think it's prett effective. I'm not a "cloud chaser" by any means. Do you get clouds on low?

Yes, though the first two pulls aren't extremely cloudy, after that I can produce some pretty big ones on low. Very long and slow draws seem to be the best inhalation method for me on the low setting.

My friend dropped my pax and it got two nasty scratches on the front, anyone know if ploom can replace the thin metal sheath for a price? I emailed them but probably won't hear back for a day or two and I'm curious of anyone knows, or knows of ways to maybe darken the scratches besides sharpie lol

That approach is bad for battery life, but good for preserving. It's bad for battery life because you're using up more energy re-heating the oven every time you turn it on. It's good for preserving because if you turn it off between sessions then the cooking stops. This is how I use mine. In fact, I use my Pax exactly the same way Deadshort480describes.

This is exactly how I use it too! And even so, I can usually get two full ovens (maybe 7 or 8 total session) off of one battery charge.

I have been happily Paxing along when I was thinking about how I'd change things or mod them if I had any type of modding experience:

1. I'd love to see some kind of gasket around the oven lid that prevents the smell of the oven from leaking out (have it flapped inward so you could inhale, and air could flow in, but not out) - this would also really help for the longer draws

2. I think an external charging port, like a microusb, would make this thing PERFECT - I mean, I'd love to swap out the battery for a higher capacity with a temp protection circuit

3. I would love to have a TPU case, like the kind on my cell, to give me some drop protection. I'm kinda clumsy and would love a little bit of added protection. I also think that the covering might help with the odor

4. There has to be a way to charge this thing in the car or camping that doesn't require a 110 outlet. I considered just getting a couple alligator clips and connecting them to my car charger. I mean, 9v at 1.3A isn't a stretch for a cheapo 2A car charger. I would LOVE to be able to take my external battery backup that I use for my cell and other microusb gadgets, and run the Pax from it too.

Jesse,
Hey guys! Can you suggest an alternative for the lubricant? Unfortunately mine spilled in the box after I opened the packet. :/

I got mine here...should last way beyond the life of the Pax,:)

...or...if you want to spend less, then here is another one.

So, not sure what prompted this idea, but I just had to see if it was possible. This is my first attempt in the vid, so I would say it works pretty darn good. What I used for the end cap, was the lid to one of the plastic containers I got with my Thermovape stuff. It makes a nice snug fit. I just plugged the air pump from my HA up to the cap. Silicone tubing connects everything. Anyway, this was mainly for my own entertainment and to satisfy curiosity, but I thought I'd share anyway. I can see this working well with the vapor lung too, for times when you can't plug in an air pump. I was thinking more for passing around a bag for a group, that way they don't slobber all over your pax ;)

One of my friends has this vape and he says he loves it but it heats the weed unevenly. Anyone else in here think this way? He doesn't exactly always use vapes properly so thats why im taking his work with a grain of salt

Deciding between this and a inhalater to replace my NO2!!!

your friend is right, you need to stir it 1-2 time .
