... and the list marches on!

I got on the list March 15th, 2012..... and I just got contacted for the details of my HI today!

Thought I'd share this info for anyone near this place on the list, wondering how close their blessed day may be! :)

Congrats Honey Air! If it wasn't for Alan's move, i'm sure the wait would be shorter. Good news for future JedHIs!

From my calculations, which could be totaly wrong, the wait list was ~6months before the halt.

I was added to the list on 10/24. Thank you for letting us know when you were added. Won't be long now I'd guess!

Here is how my HI looks after a year. I've never applied anything to the wood and never cleaned the inner parts of the HI. It has been on 24/7 at 12.4v the whole time. I have silicone on both sides of the stem. The bottom silicone is around the glass to provide an air tight seal. The top silicone holds the screen and the glass nipple. So it is all glass + screen and the top silicone provides an area for me to hold as the glass gets hot. To clean I pull off the top silicone which holds the screen and glass nipple and drop it in a bag of ISO. I run it under some water and use a can of air to dry it. Good as new.

Which VVPS are you using?

Have been waiting to use some redwood burl that I got a while back. I had to share some photos. Glad I waited for the new design.
Also have a bunch of counter top material samples that were going to be thrown away. They work good for making yo-yos, but they also work great for the HI bottom caps since it is isolated from the heat and remain at room temperature. They come in all sorts of colors and patterns.

Job done Jeppy Bro! have a great day Man!.
WOW bwade, you surprised me with that tune!!
Ive always liked that one.Would love to be hearing it for the first time though, too. These beauties Alans spinning are inspiring my music picks!

Damn, combustion on my last hit of the bowl(almost abv)at 12.3V:borg:  . way efficient.still loving how hot this girl can get.

Hey Alan, how are the two cores(older and new) comparing during use?.are you using more power or less for similar results?

Arrf Have fun learning the Force:D:cool:

I started getting combustion an hour or so after my HI was on :(. Immediately ordered the Hildbrandt VV power supply. And hey, now I'll have my own power supply for my next tattoo;).

arf - Have you tried smaller loads or pulling faster? If your not getting much airflow then you can also try a more coarse grind and try not to pack it down. Ideally, I think you should be able to pull freely through the material - especially at high temps.

I have had my fair share of combustion, I won't lie. I under-estimated the HI at times (early on) & was unfamiliar with its ways & also had never owned a log vape. It was obvious I was no jedHI. The JedHI Trials, were no cake-walk. No sir!:nope: Once my time had come (I was in waiting of 'the trials' for a bit over a year, so I was prepared once the time came), I dedicated all my free-time to understanding the Force & learning how to properly wield my HIsaber in all sorts of different environments/situations/draw-speeds/water-pipes/etc. After dozens of sleepless nights, many Grunge Off soaks, & staying true to the task at hand .. I finally succeeded in passing the jedHI Trials, & can proudly say that I am one with the force.
The HIsaber is capable of more than you know, my Young Padawan(arf). Enjoy it you will, & videos you shall make. I'm still learning it's amazing abilities months later. I'm soon to acquire a VVPS myself, I hope. However, I love my HIsaber all the same with its current power-supply(even though it's temperature does run a bit on the HI side ..IMO)!:2c:
:peace: May The Force Be With You, jedHI Arf:peace:

Thanks sticks, jam, GV, and UBR. I haven't measured the difference in power usage but I do feel more heat rising from the new core. Heat that would be going into the wood with the old core. There is still more than adequate heat available for heating the air.

arf - Glad to hear it arrived safely and is making plenty of clouds. Sounds like some might be too dark though. I always think of that scene where Luke is practicing w/ his Lightsaber and gets zapped by the remote when I get combustion. I need to reach out and feel the force so I don't combust. The high / consistent air flow flow is another reason why I like the Vapor Lung so much. It is very easy to see when the vapor is getting too dark and you can stop before it is too late. The VVPS will give you precise control over the temperature.

Although the old HI's looked really cool with that underneath plug, the traditional plug looks IMO better.

Are all of the new ones going to be double colored like those two you posted up? :peace:

That's like 14 months! Ohh, the suspense! I'm not even 1 month into the list, and hardly can't wait.

I wonder what Alan will come up with in the meantime. I gotta say it's very exciting to follow this thread. Keep em coming Alan, every single one looks better than the one before!
