Hi,

I have a magic flight vape box. I love the idea of vaping, hate smoking, but I just dont get very high with it. I have gotten a grinder, charged batteries, and some amazing weed to cut all the variables. Any advice? Thank you.

Try vaping old, old ABV. See if you like that.

Congratulations on trying to beat the combustion "habit." It can be a hard transition at first. The high is different, for one thing.

IMO, the MFLB is a great little vape, but not the first vape I'd choose for a transition to vaping due to it's learning curve and the smaller amount of vapor received with each hit (unless you are a master at it like Vito). I would suggest a vape that gives you a more full, "satisfactory" hit that emulates smoking. If you have it in your budget, take a look at some of the desktop vapes available that give the option of a bigger hit.

The second thing I always recommend is to give up smoking for at least two weeks and vape exclusively in that time. People often find that they no longer like smoking after that time.

Good luck in your transition. You've come to the right place for information and support.

Sorry for that first post, I assumed incorrectly you had been vaping for some time.

The MFLB has a very long learning curve, as it is a constant heat input vape, whose heat value decreases quickly as the batteries are shorted.

I would try slow, slow draws. You do run the risk of combusting/scorching if you go too slow though.

Be patient, use fully charged batteries, and draw slow, you should feel oily air on your tongue.

I bought the MFLB for my first vaporizer (I had not smoked or vaporized or anything at all before) - and I could not for the life of me get the hang of it, despite many many attempts and much video-watching over several weeks (yes, I'm a noob!). After seeking advice here I purchased an Arizer Solo, and it was so incredibly easy to use. I did go back and try the MFLB again once I had some vaporizing experience under my belt, and now I'm able to use it properly - however I still prefer the Solo.

If you want to stick with the MFLB, you've probably got a lot of practice ahead of you. Good luck!

Genshu, welcome and I find it awesome that you 'love the idea of vaping'! That's pretty cool. There is a lot of information in the vaporizer section. Check it out. There is no turning back. :peace:

I made the transition to vaping recently, but with the vaporblunt 2, I think the key is taking things slow. you have to breathe in slowly, when I first started vaping I was trying to hit it like the pipe, but its not the same.

Almost there...
Slow and steady wins the race with vaping!

I would also recommend a desktop unit for your first unit.
If i had to do it all again i would start with the Vapolution 2.0!
It is both a desktop and a portable unit!
Comes with a wall-wart plug and one that plugs into your cars lighter.
Hits are great and easy with a very short learning curve.
You can use either a whip style or an all glass style wand!
It does not use a lot of weed either which is always a plus!

Check out the thread on it!
There is a code you can still use to get a great discount!!

This is the analogy Max makes, an automatic transmission versus a manual.

The Solo has a temperature you can set, so if you change your draw speed it shouldn't matter, as the heat input should change to compensate (I'm not sure if it actually does have a thermostat inside). This is like driving an automatic, as the adjustments are all made without any user input.

The MFLB on the other hand is a fixed heat input vape, where you get one value of heat being put in at a constant rate (not accurate, but enough for this example). Given the constant heat input, you have to find the ideal range of draw speeds to vaporize the actives you are looking for. In other words, the learning curve is longer, and requires more user input, and therefore the analogy to a manual transmission.

They are fundamentally different. With combustion you are trying to keep enough air flowing over the material quick enough to keep the combustion from extinguishing.

With fixed heat input vapes you're trying to keep air flowing slow enough to absorb enough heat from the element/exchanger to vaporize the actives. That is unless you are using a heat source hot enough to combust,in which case you have to also draw fast enough to keep from combusting.

OO,
One thing I noticed with the MFLB was that I got the hang of it pretty fast but if I tried to use it when I wasn't calm and relaxed it was very difficult. For example, I was really angry about something one day and then struggled to get it to work. Also after playing tennis I struggled as well. I also like to use it without any windows open or fans on. To be honest after a while I found that if I sat in one chair compared to another one in my home it worked better (I know how ridiculous and illogical that sounds but ...) But yeah if you have a few bucks to spare another model may be a lot easier. For example, my Plenty works pretty much the same everytime without any effort. Packing of the herb chamber and the actual herb seem to be the causes for variation in vapour production.

the water pipe adapter mflb sells completely transforms it into a worthy vape.Buy a waterpipe to mate with wpa. I had a mflb, if your not patient its hard to reap the rewards. To unlock the mflbs true potential you need the power adapter and things get pricey fast..Its alot to think about . But Once you master this vape, you can effectively use any vape. good luck

Not ridiculous or illogical at all. I'm assuming you're using your lungs to draw and not your mouth, as when you sit in different seats your posture changes. With different postures, your draw speed will vary, assuming you are breathing with your diaphragm. With different draw speeds you will get different temperatures, and therefore different extractions.

Yes!! That is kind of what I was thinking. You know there are so many variables with this vaping business that sometimes I'm not sure if I'm being a bit nutty or I'm onto something. But the chair that I like is much more comfortable and my posture would definitely be better.

welcome to the forums. While the MFLB excels at portable, "stealth" use, I also don't get super smashed with it. When I'm outside and could possibly interact with strangers, I see this as a bonus...when I'm on the couch about to watch a southpark for the thousandth time relaxing wishing for big smash I reach for something else.

Since all of us seem to agree that the OP needs to try a different type of vape and he hasn't checked back with us, I guess this thread is done.
