Coming out

Every time I hear that 'zero tolerance' I think of some products made by Ed Rosenthal to cure incursions by fungi and insects on marijuana grows. Ed Rosethal's Zero Tolerance, it's called.

I like this thread. I would love to come out but if I did I would be jailed, fired, never hired again and eventually I would be deported and banned from Hong Kong SAR.

As it stands I am a degenerate criminal in the society in which I live.

It is so interesting that even for you guys that can use MMJ legally that you still are facing legitimate and serious issues.

I live in Washington State and everyone here still keeps private cannabis consumption very quiet. I try not to judge others and prefer to not be inaccurately judged myself so If I'm asked if I use marijuana, the answer given is no. Regardless if the person I'm talking to uses or not.

I know this doesn't help our cause, but I don't see this scenario changing for me any time soon. If it wasn't so detrimental professionally and hard on my family to 'come out'....maybe I would reconsider, but our current society isn't ready to deny old stereotypes quite yet and it may be a generation or two before it does.

It's very unfortunate you have to hide who you are from others, but it's understandable given the circumstances. :(

I really think it's professional people coming clean that is helping to shift the perspectives of those with no exposure though.

I tried to use my med status as a fall back method a few years when some BS happened at one of my jobs. They talked to their lawyers and said basically what Stu did Federal law doesn't recognize medical use granted by the state...... I got fired.

Do not involve your workplace or even hint at your medical use IMO

The sad thing is, this applies to alot of health related issues...I have been keeping my health issues secret from just about everyone for almost 20 years. As to my herb use, I pretty much sneak around like a wanted criminal just to get the mental and physical relief I need.
