I have 100 hi-temp caps and 100 o-rings on order. I'll share with you. Will let you know when they arrive.

You are my hero!

They're stiffer than the normal ones so it takes a bit of fiddling to figure out how to get them on and off (on is much harder). When the stem is hot it not the time to figure it out, unless you like pain. I find starting it on at a slight angle then rotating the stem back to plumb to get the other part of the stem rim into the cap does it. I use the cap body to hang onto, holding the stem far enough back to be on a cool part. As soon as it's started I put the top of the cap in my palm and push the stem home. Easy, once you figure it out. The cap covers all the hot part, it goes straight into the pocket from there.

Assuming those are the right rings, expect lots of friends........

Oh, I don't know, I do. Then again, I'm a nobody......

What's on your mind?

I ordered McMaster-Carr part numbers 84735K17 and 9396K26. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

expect lots of friends...

I don't mind sharing the extras, but I'll need help with distribution (I don't have the bandwidth). Perhaps a pyramid system? I'll figure something out. They probably won't be here until next week (I've ordered stuff from them before), and I won't be in town until Thursday to deal with them.

Not much after basic helicopter school, and then spent 30 days too many on ship. But then I guess our corpsmen and doc's were all sailors. Never had any problems with sailors, other than on ship.

So my Deluxe Daddy vaporizer is broken.
I've ordered a Solo from Planet Vape.
Can't wait. Hoping this will be a flower vape that will finally replace combustion for me.
I looked at some very expensive plug in vaporizers but being attached to the wall and/or having to sit at the table just ruins it for me.

Considering a purchase in the near future myself. Give some reports on the newest model perhaps?

I have an M1A4 which is the same as the M1B models and there is nothing wrong with them at all. If you are considering it just get one & enjoy.

I'm going to gift one to myself when I finish my BSc, kind of an encouragement to keep me going for the next few weeks. I just want to live vicariously until then. :p

Fake edit: Although I am still combusting so maybe I should pick it up early. Isn't combusting what really causes a lot of the drowsiness and "hangover"?

When I quit combusting I found that the drowsiness and hangover went away. I also find the solo to be extremely efficient. Should pay for itself quickly. Until you want to buy glass to go with it...
That was my experience at least.

Never expected to quit smoking, but I'm a week without any harsh carbon monoxide and there's really nothing appealing about going back. I would like another good bong rip though so I haven't quit smoking for good yet, but for a first vape this thing has succeeded my expectations.

Very cool. Keep it up.

I think you really need to go 30 days or so without blazing, long enough for your lungs to recover some, before you're really free. After that, drawing the hot junk into your lungs is about as disgusting as it was at first....but this time your brain knows that it can get THC without the garbage.

I think the high is different too. You lose the rush from the junk of course, but huffing the exhaust from a city bus can satisfy that in an emergency.

Since you're not burning up (literally destroying) half or more of the THC blazing, and the vapor delivered is more effectively absorbed, most guys find their consumption drops to a third or a quarter of what it was. The gram (or 1/8) that used to last a week, now lasts almost a month so your wallet feels better too.

My experience with bongs and vaping is that the lower rates on many vapes makes for a problem. Smaller bubblers seem to work better since the vapor doesn't need 'scrubbing' as much as cooling. You might find that satisfies some of that bong craving?

Anyway, good on ya. Vape more and you'll enjoy it more I think.....and live longer so you can enjoy it even more. Blazing can kill you......

Will you guys think about stocking stem caps that are rated for high heat? Its the newest thing that us solo owners are checking out. Seems the MFLB caps arent rated for high temps.

That's a terrible pun, Stu, even for you. Who's writing your material these days?

That is so cool, thanks very much. Yet another example of PV's leadership here. It goes right with Doob Tubes, mixed boxes of Omicron carts, free cake decorator tips before the D9 loading tools happened, PVHES, the other custom stuff and all the rest of the 'little things' you quietly provide this community.

Yet more of my money is headed your way, which I feel good about unlike some of the other places it goes with and without my permission.

Thanks once again for paying attention and stepping up! Capitalism in action.....

IMO an excellent idea. Remembering that the softer low temp ones are easier/better for cold stem use, but some of us want to cap 'em hot and those puppies do it great. IMO both have their place.

Looking for some advice on cleaning my PVHE GonG stem. Until I got it a weeks or so ago I had been using my stock stems & to clean them I just plug both ends with my fingers & shake a little iso back & forth until the stem is clean. I prefer a clean stem so I clean them too often to make it worth my time to evap them each time so I just save it in a mason jar. I would prefer to keep using this method but the notches in the PVHE make it impossible for me to get a tight seal with just my finger. I know all the other methods for cleaning including hot chocolate, torching, etc & will resort to them if necessary so please don't suggest any of those.

My first thought was to use a MFLB battery cap but then I realized the iso will just run out down the air channels so the seal needs to be made inside the bowl instead of outside.

Currently I am thinking about using a rubber stopper but I have a few concerns. First I have checked the OSHA data sheet on iso & based on that I think I need to use either Butyl or Nitrile rubber as the "breakthrough time" for each of those is over 8 hours. My main concern though is not about breakthrough but the iso leaching something out of the rubber. My second concern is if I use a harder rubber the taper of the stopper will prevent a tight seal because of the 6 air notches.

My last resort is to use Dreamerr's method of keeping a designated jar full of iso to soak my stem in & save that until it is nice & dirty then evap it. I would prefer not using this method as the tackiness left on the outside of the stem once its dry is a waste of perfectly good oil & if I clean once a week that works out to be a decent amount of oil lost before I would evap it.

If anyone has any experience with either a rubber stopper sealing up a PHVES or knows about the safety of iso & rubber I would greatly appreciate any insight you could give.

Yesterday I cleaned my LSV transfer wand with absolute ethanol... its not really dangerous I mean, I sealed it with my hands and rubbed it... easy

But for the PHVES and ISO I would just take a q-tip and dip it inside the ISO then you can clean it easily since this stem is so short its easy ... but you can get it aswell without ISO and just a q-tip with no ISO, if you just clean after a session when the stem is hot...that would be great if you're going to use it with the solo and not another vape...

My rubber stopper is good for 18mm female entry so I couldn't use it but its pretty much safe from alcohol...(keeping my absolute ethanol in a plastic bottle).

I did some more research also and found most stoppers are EPDM which is completely safe with iso, now I just need to figure out if it well create a nice seal with those air notches in the stem
