Vapir Rise Desktop Vaporizer

(Will post the video in May, on day of official release)

Can't wait, Vito! I always appreciate your videos.

I really don't know how great this vape will be given that the two great Canadian multitaskers, the Herbalaire and Extreme Q already do their jobs so well and for less money, although the kooky-quick heat up time and the valve system are definitely cool features.

I came to actually really like the remote on the Extreme Q and it's sad they didn't include one for this. And their name choice is just inviting comically confusing conversation between headshop staff and potential customers.

Just to add my :2c:, but am I the only one scared here ?

I mean, imHo Vapir has not been known for building quality products previously.
Again, imHo opinion even the launch of their last portable 2-3 years ago with the weird smell was a no-go.
The only thing that makes me think twice before dismissing this vape is Vitolo's opinion...and the fact that building an OK vape is not that hard so I believe that Vapir could finally be able to do so.

Vapir products have proven reliable.
The numbers keep increasing, and now well over 3 dozen local patients use the NO2 that you spoke of.
Funny part is I send back a couple Solos a month for some type of warranty work, while NONE of the NO2 users have had to send theirs in. (This includes me, my solo has been in twice in a year, and my Pax has been in twice, but my NO2 has served me for almost 3 years without incident (or weird smell).
You might be the only one scared.... AND.... the way to fix that is just do not buy this vape if you are scared.
IMHO Vapir has done very well with the community and good products.
Products good enough that while a select few have variations in opinion about them....
...They still keep on working!
What you call a No-go ... according to head shops here and in 3 other cities that I serve, is one of their larger sellers.
You did qualify that it was "imho" so I will accept it at that, but please don't put words in the mouths of everyone else, rain on parades or try to sway those of us that "are not scared".

Vapir products have proven reliable.

I havent owned a vapir product in about 5 years, but from my experience they are not very reliable. The two units I owned were the vapir one and the oxygen mini. They both worked well, except for having to tape up the vapir one to avoid leaks. Now for the unreliable part, the connection where the cord plugged into my vapir one became loose overtime and you would constantly have to wiggle it around just to keep it on and it would constantly turn off and lose temp. Not very reliable.

The oxygen mini i found to be more reliable than the vapir one, however one drop onto my dorm room floor and it was busted.

Im sure they have atepped things up since then with the NO2 and now the vapir Rise.

I love my vivape so Im not really in need of what the vapir rise can provide, but if i were, Id probably still pick the vivape, and possibly the herbalizer (depending on price) over this.

Had this vape come out 3 years ago, i probably would have been interested, but then it wouldnt look exaclty like the extreme q

Thx Mynameismud, your experience is the one of many on the Internet.

I do have to admit that the No2 seems to be a fair product...but I have a hard time to give back my trust to a company that sold such product by the past.
As you said Vitolo, that's my own opinon, just wanted to share it in a honest way, not to rain on parade or such stuff...but to remind people of what has been in the past.
Please correct me, but Vapir did change something after the release of their firest No2 units because of a bad smell, right ?
Anyway...may they release a nice product...I'll be happy to maybe sell it.

What they changed was their policies about only allowing Aurthorized Dealers to sell "warrentied" units.... to overcome the nearly thousand "knockoffs" that got sold on Ebay.
Then they added "soak tube in hot water" to the instructions... for those that might thoughtlessly vaporize with their tubing right out of the box.
Finally they added Silica Dessicant/Odor Absorbers to new boxes to get rid of potential Factory smells
I have two working NO2s that have no problems.. One is 3 years old, and the other is 2 years old.
I have a third NO2 that had issues with the switch.... and some of you may recall I had troubles because it was bought on Ebay... therefore unwarrantied.
I finally got Vapir to warrant that unit after they inspected it to be sure it was NOT a knockoff... they gave me a replacement and that unit has been in service as a community loaner since. This shows that the company does make exceptions if there is cause
I also still use my Vapir one, and Vapir Mini.... each 2 years old, and neither has any issue.
This particular thread is here for review and comments by users of the Vapir Rise.
We are discussing disappointments in other products.
If one uses the Vapir Rise, and finds it to not meet their expectations.. this would definitely be the thread to air this in.

Vitolo summed it up.

The vapir one and mini are known to be of lesser quality and are much older vapes. The NO2 is rock solid, there is a slight smell at first but if you follow the factory burn-in procedure and soak your tube (which imo should be replaced with a silicone tube anyways) it should have no smell. The brass chamber gives a slightly different taste than vapes with chambers made of other materials. Now back on topic.

This does look interesting, just not my cup of tea. I don't like the layout and it seems to be gimmicky with the "multi-user" adapter and bag option, but there are people that still like their bags. I can't wait to check out some reviews.

I have not had a chance to use the unit yet. I did take it out of the box to make sure it works. One of the interesting things is I could not seem to find any information about the temperature range. Has anyone else seen where they list the temp range? Anyway, I turned it on and it seems to go from 150F-400F for the temperature range. Build quality seems nice/solid so far. Packaging was nice as well... simple and well organized. I was able to get everything back in the box like it was before I took it out.

I haven't seen the temperature listed either. Really? A 400F temperature limit again... on a desktop unit much less. That's really disappointing, I want to see a 450F max. I rarely go over 400F but I like to have the ability to.

I can't wait to hear a review!

A few more things to note. Once you turn the unit on the fan has to be running all times. If you turn the fan to off the heater will shut down and the unit will start to cool down. It works sort of like the ViVape in that sense. The fan has allot of different speeds... ranging from pretty slow to really fast. You get thicker vapor at the lower settings and thinner at the higher settings.

Had a session and it works. Everything fits together pretty well. The bowl/crucible unit gets pretty warm. They have this holder/sleeve holder to use when handling that part. So far my biggest concern is the 400F max temperature. The ABV is pretty even although a tad under cooked for my taste. It reminds me of a Volcano/ExtremeQ/ViVape combined. I think if you like lower temp vapor you will appreciate the unit.

More testing and usage is needed before I really form a solid opinion.

Confused
I got one of these last week and used it twice. It is ok. It works and vapes good. Lots of accessories come with the unit. Really nice screens and a huge bowl for really long sessions. I didn't use the oil bowl yet it looks cheap. I don't think I will be using oil in this vape. I don't like that the fan is always on if the heater is on I hate seeing my vape go to waste but it really is a minimal amount that blows off. More testing needs to be done.

The Vapir Rise wastes less vapor with it's fan always running than does the ViVape between hits.
I feel comfortable with that technology, from the Vapir One.

The always on fan is a pretty big negative in my book. The bowl/crucible thing really locks in well so you can't take it out very easily. You have to twist it and unlock it in order to lift it off... very stable, but not the quickest way to remove the bowl/crucible from the heat. You are then left with this hose and bowl/crucible you have to find a place to put somewhere between hits. If you want to stop the fan between hits you have to turn the heat off... and the unit starts to cool. Then when you turn it back on you have ti wait the time it takes for the heater to reach temp again. At least with the ViVape you could easily separate the herb from the heat source.

That is only a secondary issue for me. The major one that makes the device pretty much unusable for me is the restrictive temperature levels. Only going to 400F is a no go in my book... not going to get my medical relief. I will have a full review sometime, but personally I don't use the Vapir Rise other then testing/review reasons because of the temperature and the always on fan. Both of those combined in my book really detracts from the overall experience.

Mine is still sitting. The herb is very easy to remove from heat source and use that holder tool to store the bowel in while its hot. There are too many pieces for people that are always stoned.

I agree that a vape that keeps the fan running full time might waste a little vapor but if we were that concerned about waste then we would all be exhaling into plastic bags to re-inhale.

That being said, maybe they will see these complaints and update the software it the future. I think the full time fan in some models i.e.. Vaporfection Stealth, is to keep the unit itself cooler to the touch, both inside and out, as a precaution to electronics as well.
