Oh and the Cloud V say their batteries are life time warrantied.

And that's how you know it's a scam/ripoff. Why would they warranty the most expendable thing? Because they're making enough profit selling them at their prices to buy the batteries by the pallets. Most of these repurposed e-cigs would retail you $25-30 on any other "vapor store" (AKA e-cig stores, because that's what they are.)

Still want to buy a regular pen when your complaints are landing on deaf ears? Perhaps it's time to reconsider? There's a few new vape pens that have actually proven themselves when tested by one of our sage vaporists, Vitolo. They're called the Vapor Bros Dabbler and the VIP by SSV (it's actually put together by the parent company 7th Floor)

Like I said, Vito has an insane amount of experience with vaporizers of all sorts and he has tried both that I mentioned and has talked positively about them. Cloud Pen, Atmos Raw, 710 pen, etc... we generally agree that they're not the best choice out there for 99% of people.

The red light goes out.

Did you get a 2.0 or a cloud V?

I have tried to email both companies and gotten zero replies. Kinda unhappy about it.

Turns out the 2.0 atomizer is leaking oil around the area where the atomizer meets the battery contacts. And its not a little, its alot.......then I tried the atomizers from the cloud v folks on the 2.0 and it didn't work at all. Two of them to be exact. I emailed both companies about the issues with zero attention.

The crappy part is I want to purchase a regular Cloud V brand pen but if no one answers me, it makes me worry.

Buy this vape with extremely low expectations... everything surrounding the companies seems shady. Customer service is horrid, there's many complaints and nobody know who actually sold them their vape. I know mine came in a white box, that looks like an apple product. The website address on the box shows cloudvapes.com. Look for atomizers elsewhere, I'm pretty sure the micro g atomizers work on these vapes as well. I find it really odd that two of the atomizers have leaked. Between my friend and myself we've been through like 5 atomizers and not a single one has leaked.
IMO if you're serious about using a vape strictly made for oil, buy a persie or something and use this shoddy vape as a beater. I don't really have a need for a nice oil vape since I don't usually dab on the go.

I looked at the two pens. The problem is, I ONLY smoke wax / concentrates. So if it's a better pen for dry herbs, it isn't for me. The VIP looks ENTIRELY like the atmos RAW. Which I happen to have two of. And....was designed for dry herb and seems to work great for oils / waxes.

My problem is the ceramic chamber is so effin expensive to replace.

Thanks for the info...so far I have only used an atmos raw and this cloud. I enjoy the cloud as it puts off some seriously great vap and also is much faster then the atmos raw.
I know as time goes on, people are gonna get more and more of these out and theyll be much nicer. 65$ for a throw away pen to me isn't a big deal, as I like the size, and the ability for me to hide well and they dn't seem to smell as bad as the atmos raw did.

I bought the cloud pen about a week ago from a dispensary down in SoCal. They are selling them a lot at dispensaries and I think they are even cheaper there than at smoke shops. Some dispensaries are even given them out free if you buy a lot of wax from them or they will at least give you a discount on your wax and new vaporizer pen.

Anyways, I checked the cloud pen first online after finding it available at a trusted dispensary. I did my research and I found there is a cloud pen 2 and a regular cloud pen. The original cloud pen was created by the two owners or manufacturers of both pens. Then one partner left and formed his own and just called it cloud 2. The are basically identical pens. Only differences are that cloud 2 comes in more colors and it comes with a traveling case that contains a "cloud" dabber, usb charger, and a cleaner i think.

I just got the regular cloud. It seemed good at the dispensary, it was brand new. Me and the bud tender tested it out to make sure it would lite. Initially it lighted right up and there was no vapor coming out since there was no wax on it yet.

I then went home and tried it out. I noticed there was a strong smell when i opened it to put the wax in. It smells a lot like zippo lighters wick. So I took a hit of the wax and not only did i taste the wax but also that wick. I didnt like it and immediately went to my computer to see if other people were tasting the same thing. I found out this was a huge controversy by people that bought it. Some people didnt know if it was the ceramic, wick, or something else that caused that smell.

I then found a video by a guy on Youtube suggesting that you use the micro G pen's atomizer inside the cloud. I wend to my local smoke shop and bought the atomizer. I told the guy why I was doing it and he said that the smell is glycerin something or other. He said it was safe and that he uses his all the time.

I'm a little bit more concerned about what I inhale and how I inhale with. So, I bought the micro G pen atomizer. I went home and I started the cloud pen with the original atomizer and there was no wax. Yet there was still a good amount of vapor being produced. It once again had that wick smell. So i washed it out the top mouth piece and tried it again, still the smell persisted.

I decided to try out the micro G pen atomizer inside the cloud. First I made it light with nothing in it. I noticed no smell that was associated with the cloud atomizer. Then I put a dab of wax on it. * Note: I do not put a huge amount that was shown on one of these pictures, I simply put one that will just sit on the coil and not touch the rest of the atomizer. * I got a really clean hit of this atomizer in the cloud. It tasted really like pure vapor, reminded me of taking hits off my vapor brothers box I used to have.

So the lesson is if you want to get the cloud or cloud 2 doesn't matter which one you get. If your dispensary is having a deal with them and wax get it from them not from some head shop. And finally make sure you use the micro G pen atomizer for it not the cloud atomizer. It dosn't matter if it is the new atomizer for the micro G pen or the old one.

What you said about the manufacturers is interesting. The companies talk bad about each other.

The wick does have a bit of a taste at first. The taste goes away once its been saturated.

Sorry but the people you talk to dont know anything about vaporizing oil. There is no ceramic in these pens and if there was there wouldn't be any flavor. Its easy to combust with these pens, I think a lot of what people are tasting is burning oil. Glycerin is basically vegetable oil, e cig oil is glycerin based... I don't know how you can taste glycerin (I thought it was tasteless when vaporized), especially if the only thing you loaded up was wax. There was no glycerin in your vape to taste.

Thanks for the recommendation on the micro g atomizers. Do you have the old or new style atomizers? The old have a screen with no access to the coil, the new ones have the screen removed. That's just what I read though, I haven't tried a micro g atomizer on my cloud yet.

Edit: Oh and welcome to the forum! Sorry if I came off as rude, wasn't trying to be.

New g-pen cart or old, still crap. Had them both, no diff except one had little screen covering the wick. Tossed them out real quick. I normally would rather give something to somebody who could use it as opposed to throwing it away, I would not give these to anyone.:2c:

Shoulda gone with the Vapor Brothers Dabbler or the VIP by SSV. Vito, a respected member here on the boards, speaks highly of them. Most of these oil pen vapes are re-purposed e-cigs which are meant to vaporize e-juice. BHO has a much thicker consistency...

I read Vitos, review on the Vapor Bros dabbler. It seems like its a pretty good portable vape pen. However, since I bought the cloud and I find that it works well with the micro G pen atomizer. I think I'm going to keep using it until I feel the atomizers are being replaced to frequently. Then I will buy the Vapor bros dabbler, I wish they made their replacements of the atomizer a little bit cheaper to match everyone else. I'm curious if I could fit their atomizer on my cloud. If Vito has tried this or someone else please let us know. This could save me as well as others the amount of money it would cost to buy a complete new vaporizer.

I think the main problem people have with these vaporizers are that they are completely uneducated They first always put way to much wax into them, these pens are dabbers only require a small amount of wax so you get 1-2 hits off it. Secondly, they do not turn them off or put them on safety when not in use. I've had my cloud pen for 2 weeks now. I have not charged it since the initial charge. Thirdly, these vape pens are designed for personal dabbing, I know most people want to share it with their friends but if your going to do that just let them hit it twice and then put it away and turn it off. If you want to share your vaporizing experience with friends/roommates frequently then I would recommend you buying a plug in vaporizer by Vapor bros or by Volcano that way you don't burn out you vape pen.

Mystery solved?
No its not a rebranded thermo. I actually wasted time/money on the Atmos Thermal. It simply doesn't work AT ALL. I have been burned on a couple of those (the Atmos Thermal and the Cannacig).

The fiber should NOT be releasing any type of vapor at all brand new.

I agree that it shouldn't however every single pen that I've tried had vapor coming out of a clean, brand new pen. There is always something in those filaments, which will go away if you take enough hits (the cannacig took at least 100 hits to clear out whatever was in there).

That entire filament technology is worthless if you're trying to use wax or flowers. Maybe the liquid gold stuff works, but I've never tried it.

Cornbread,
Aw, you guys are lifesavers!! I have had my cloud pen for about seven months now, and, til recently, the only thing I didn't like about it was that it leaked when I was traveling, which is pretty defeatist. I broke the wire in the cart and really didn't want to go through cloud. Now I'm gonna get the Atmos carts, and I will be happy once again.

I was one of those who received an apple like package with no information on use or cleaning. I work in a dispensary and purchased it through a wax vendor who had an extra one on her. I contacted them via facebook and they seemed cool, said they would mail out an information card, etc. I was pleased with the customer service but -Never happened. They contacted me four months? later and said they had the info up on their website. Their tone had seemed to change, but I was pleasantly happy they had contacted me; felt like they still cared. I checked the website and found that I had been taking proper care of my utensil, and that was great...then the battery died like two days later.

And that's when the whole fucking thing changed and after reading through this thread and seeing the bullshit posts they put up, I thought I'd share my experience with cloudvapes.com

They have a lifetime warranty, which I can assume is because it has a watch battery operating it, and they don't want you to know it's probably easily replaced by using a special tool equivalent to a paperclip. But that's just sarcastic speculation on my part, and frankly I don't mind spending $10 every seven months to keep it up; cheaper than buying a new one. I was told via facebook that replacement takes apprx 2-3 days after receiving the defective part. I filled out the RMA, printed it out, mailed it in with tracking, and waited. The next day I received a scripted response from someone who clearly didn't understand ...anything. I'm in the same area, so I expected a pretty quick turn around. A week later, I'm writing them back wondering where is my effin battery?! Two seconds later, my bf walks in with it. They sent it, not to the address specified on the RMA, but to the origin address from the shipping information. So I sent them another message wondering what was the fucking point of the RMA? And maybe they should specify actual practices on their website. So later I receive a response, again, from someone who had the mental acuity of space rock. I'm a pretty chill person most times, and I understand they've blown up and are probably way over capacity, and, obviously, ability, but I have my limits.

I was so mad at them, but so excited to have my pen back that, while I was cleaning it, I TOTALLY BROKE THE STUPID WIRE!! I did NOT want to have to go back through them to get a replacement.

So, thanks again.

tl;dr: it's a love hate cloud relationship, shitty c/s but with a lifetime warranty, can mix parts -it's all the same, thanks fuckcombustion

Pretty sure they cover it in glycerin, which is totally harmless, but helps to protect the integrity of the cart. Kind of like greasing a pan.

If you want to share your vaporizing experience with friends/roommates frequently then I would recommend you buying a plug in vaporizer by Vapor bros or by Volcano that way you don't burn out you vape pen.

I've had no problems with large bowls or sharing and battery life with good care. Once you have more smoke than vape, it's time to clean, no matter how much reclaim you have. Though you could prolly still put it on flowers, if you want to conserve. Then if you find you're too heavy handed to scrape, just use alcohol and burn off what you can't dissolve.

mod note: Please avoid back-to-back posts, use Edit instead. Three posts merged.

@beaniegrl420 Have you ever got the wick technology to work with wax?

I've never tried. To my understanding, wick is for glycerin only. Glycerin doesn't vape at the same temp as wax, I believe (honestly, I have no clue) so it makes sense you would need different utensils to vape with. Wick just doesn't heat hot enough for wax, but it does for sugar alcohol.

That makes a lot of sense, thanks!

Do you have a portable vape pen that works well with wax? I have a vaporcone that works great, but only if you dab the coils each time. This is difficult since the coil is so deep down in the device.

I have a cloud pen; see above ;) A co-worker has one she really likes, and it comes with various chambers for different means of vape. I'll try and remember to ask her and get back to you.

edit: actually as I read through earlier posts, I see it's already been mentioned. I'm 98% sure she has this one, and she loves it.

If I were to get a replacement pen, it's certainly at the top of my list.

yeah... the cloud pen sounds like a nightmare! I checked out that vaporbros pen and it is that same filament tech that doesn't work for waxes.

I guess I'll just keep dabbing my vaporcone until something better comes along. No idea why 'cone' is in the name, since nothing about it looks like a cone hah!

yes they all use that fine silica filament/fiber.

i think hitting it from a mouth piece or cover like the cloud is good because you can get a lot vapor in it.
Do the other vapor pens have the capacity to hold the same amount?

I could be wrong, but I don't believe that my Vaporcone discreet has the fine silica filament / fiber. It just looks like a tightly wound spring

You know what, I just peeled back the wire mesh thing that was draped over the atomizer and put some wax directly on the coil. The wax definitely vaporized, so thats good. But why do they put that wire mesh thing over the top like a teepee? the wax just seems to stop there and never make it to the atomizer.

I just picked up one yesterday and have used it with some peanut butter BHO and now am using some shatter in it. Works amazing so far and have no complaints.

I do like the atomizer for the gpen micro a little better and will probably use them as a replacement.

Im surprised this thread has so few reviews of the pen. The cloud seems to be very popular. I read all the posts here and most just bashed it for appearing rebranded. Im looking for a new vape pen. Unfortunately my TV rev and dart werent doing the trick and were sold.
