Thanks VXH for sending a quick replacement without making me wait after my 4th cloud died. Feels so good to be back in the clouds. And look at my shiny new silver knob!

I need a new HT to replace my broken one. Swagger hydracirc or Evolver?

I can only speak for the Evolver quality but it's damn good. I would recommend it and tell you if you do purchase it you will have zero regrets and probably won't miss the swagger HT. I wouldnt be surprised if this stands the same for mostly all HT's.

But I'd hold off; new HT news is on the horizon and rumored to be straight via SM55! Who knows, may be multiple new HT's

WOW... 4 replacements (repairs)! Must be some kind of record (one you don't want!), if anyone deserves a 2 day turn around it must be you.

If you don't mind sharing, how long did each Cloud last before "breaking" and were any of them Cloud+ units?

Meanwhile...

I called VXL and talked to Phil. He's promising to ship out my repaired Cloud next week. If true that will be awesome... stay tuned!
Well that didn't happen, so still waiting... patiently waiting...

Consistency in CS is something they gotta work on. Personally, I have had great experiences with responses and overall communication. But, I haven't had to sent my ol' clicker in for replacement. I guess it's just hit or miss.

It was basically a month that each cloud lasted. This last time it was cloud+ and took more like a month and a half or two months to break. I hope you get yours back soon.

That's more bad luck than anyone should endure! So even the Cloud+ units are not immune to failure? I thought the upgrade was supposed to fix the defects that existed in the original unit (hence the 3yr. warranty?).

2 year warranty my good sir. And nothing is immune to failure; the rate of failure may be drastically reduced but it doesn't mean there won't be bad apples in the bunch and it also doesn't mean the units imperfections were the same as the original clouds malfunctions.

It's technology, it's bound to happen. The upgraded two year warranty shows confidence in their product.

Au contraire mon ami! I was referencing the fact that you get a total of 3yrs. warranty if you upgrade from an old unit to a cloud+.

It's true that a newly purchased Cloud+ comes with a 2yr. warranty. But the $150 upgrade from an older unit to a Cloud+ gives you a 2yr. warranty in addition to the existing 1yr. warranty on the older unit resulting in a 3yr. warranty. Think of it as an extended warranty.

Stonemonkey laid it all out in <This Post>:

There has been quite a bit of speculation about the durability of the VapeXhale Cloud vaporizer. We have engineered the VapeXhale Cloud to a point where there is a less than 2% failure rate which is the norm for electronic devices. With the amount of failed Clouds in this forum, we could see why you would think otherwise but we wanted to let our actions speak louder than our words.

Moving forward, every newly purchased VapeXhale Cloud (after Feb 16th) vaporizer will come with a 2 year warranty. If you would like to purchase an extra year (3 years total) of warranty, the cost for that will be $150

Existing VapeXhale customers can upgrade their warranty for an additional 2 years for $150. In addition to the extended warranty, if you want to send in your Cloud we will retrofit it with some upgrades like the following:

*Shorter heat up times
*Replaceable bamboo (will still need to be sent in)
*Longer auto-shutoff time
*Cooler to the touch

This is NOT a brand new model, these are just some incremental improvements that we have made over the last year. We tried to make this as fair as possible but also know that we can't please all the people all the time which is why we made it a $150 upgrade for anyone that wanted three years of warranty whether you are an early adopter, current customer, or future customer.

I rescind my previous comment about PBW - I hadn't let the glass soak enough for a long enough period of time. I just soaked my Swagger HT and that mother fucker came out like brand new - and happily NO, ABSOLUTELY NO damage to the sticker.

And that's - i.e., the soaking - why it's difficult to use for cleaning the bamboo. I found myself swabbing and swabbing with the solution to in effect soak it, and them doing much the same to rinse it - and I still got some film, which was difficult to remove later after it became visible. IME the PBW is great for the HT's, but not so for the Cloud itself.

Awesome science guys. I admit to passing on this experiment since oldie was doing it, thanks for the valuable feedback :)

Haha Correct man. I just thought you were referring to new purchases. That's my mistake as you didn't say that in your original post.

On another note, is there a general concenssis of how much FC fills there ELB. 1/3 is what seemed most efficient for me. Half and 1/3 seemed like the same results but haven't tried any bigger loads. More filled equals more hits or denser clouds? How much do you guys usually fill your ELB to?

I enjoy 1/3 packed on a medium heat (noon for me, but that varies)

Bumping up to high heat, only a 20-25% pack works awesome.
