The HI

HI all! I'm on the waiting list myself, but wanted to say that I finally got to experience the awesome capabilities of the HI while meeting up with the man himself. I brought over my E-Nano, EV-2, LSV and Purple Days along with an Ion Matrix for Alan to checkout. Good times were had. If you ever get the chance to meet Alan, definitely do so as he is a stand up guy with what seems like an infinite amount of great ideas. I also got to see his shop and some other really cool stuff. Now the wait is going to be even more brutal now that I know what the HI can do. Cheers!

I have also had the pleasure of a lengthy discussion with Alan, albeit via phone. You said it-- he's a stand-up guy and a Master JedHI. Three cheers for Alan!!

Sent Alan an EMail, looking forward to join the JedHI ranks.

I bet he's busy after the 420 thing, but I'm so itching to get my hands on a HI. I hope they can ship one overseas to my place!

Kuroth1 - Glad you are enjoying your HI. It does hit very big for such a small amount of herb.

bOObs - Thanks so much for the video. Always great to see. The wallpaper is just how I remember it.

slowandsteady - Thanks for the kind words. It was great to meet you and hang out together on 4/20. So fun trying all the different vaporizers and roasting tube combinations. First time I had place hands on a Purple Days unit. That Ion is so smooth.

Jeppy - Thanks so much for the videos. Always such good ones.

EDA - Thanks for jumping on the list. I have some ideas for making it go a little faster.

Vapinghole - Thanks. It was very nice talking to you too.

Glad to have you on the list Dafni.

Mom - It was quite a time at the Cannabis Cup even though I was only there on Sunday afternoon.

I was demonstrating at Medical Jane's booth in the indoor consumption area. They had a Cloud, EQ, and Vapor Brothers vaporizers at the table when I arrived. It was quite a sight to behold.I plugged in a HI that I had been using with a battery pack in a fanny pack. It was fun walking through the crowd and using the HI. I brought a couple of Vapor Lungs with me and was pulling bottles for the crowd. I finally got to try a VL with a Cloud. It worked as nice as I thought it would. The ultimate party machine. The Vapor Lung turned out to be the biggest hit. One lady said it was the coolest thing she had seen in her two days at the Cup. You get cool vapor immediately and you can inhale it as quickly / freely as you like. Nice to see so many smiling faces walking away from the table.
I also brought my prototype 32 watt - 110v unit. The GTV. I had some glass connectors so that we were able to use it with a glass bubbler. It was a very big hit as well. It delivers massive hits. Everyone loved how light in weight and cool it is to the touch. The GTV has actually been around longer than the HI. It provided a lot of the inspiration for the HI. I didn't want to say anything about it until after I moved. It has a 18mm male glass connection and operates as a heat wand to be placed down into a 18mm female roasting bowl. The heating element is sized such that temperature control is not needed. There is no switch on the prototype. When it is plugged in, it is on. The design allows it to be safe for 24/7 operation in any orientation and on any surface. The shell is perforated aluminum plate which never gets much hotter than room temperature since it has so much surface area. It also protects the glass heat tube very well.
Somehow I will get this worked in with all of the HI orders.

Hey Sticks - Think of a log vape with a "shell" made out of only perforated aluminum. The one I saw was folded into a hex shape instead of round like you typically see with a log vape. Then instead of a SS heat tube, picture a 18mm glass wand with a heating element inside and an 18mm male adapter on the end to use with glass.

I want to hear more about this battery pack

Jamb have a look here if you are in need.....OF was kind enough to post a pic of his setup.all parts are available on the net for cents & the 3 18650 2000mah batts are $5 each or so online.a little camera case and your e good.I would imagine well over an hours use with those 3 inline on a Hi.
OF used it with his PD which uses the same resistor so has been trialed FC style :science:

Haven t tried it myself but i plan too.plenty hot, maybe a little too hot.You can always utilize those JedHi powers to get around that one:rockon:

Damn Im hungry ,I'm off to get me some marshmallows :peace:

Jam - I had a battery store make me up a 12 volt pack with some 3400mAh NIMH batteries. I spliced a power cord w/ plug to the wires they provided. It provides about 2 - 3 hours of continuous use. I have also used it by plugging it in for a 15 minutes session. The battery pack puts out about 13 plus volts so it heats up much faster than 5 minutes. Maybe 8 to 12 of the 15 minute sessions are possible.
The 7Ah battery should give you around 7 hours of continuous use and many 15 minute sessions. It would be great for camping. A solar recharger would be nice for camping as well.

ubw - The heating element is stainless steel and made in the USA. The heating element support is also stainless steel and prevents the heat from traveling to the aluminum housing. The air enters 6 holes in the room temperature aluminum housing before traveling up through the glass tube which contains the stainless steel heating element. It is essentially a box vaporizer without a box or control circuit. The whole unit including the cord weighs about 100 grams. Very easy on your glassware.

I also posted a video of the Vapor Lung in action you should check out. The Amazing Vapor Lung!!!

Sick job Alan.
I guess the perforated tube could be different style or size. it might work with wood too?

cool how you ve got that glass island held in there so sturdy. Is there any movement while engaging/disengaging the gong from a glass piece?

really nice job!.I love seeing your tech wizardry.
