Yeah.. F* Combustion..
So I have been on a 3 week detox looking for jobs, after finally landing one, I pulled the pax out of my drawer (I had stored it after I cleaned it with a full charge) and was very surprised that when I pulled it out to check on it, it had a yellow battery level. In three weeks of no use, it only took 15-20 minutes on the charger and it was green. I am not sure what happened but I am sure proud of my pax.

Good to know. Do you make any noticeable mods to fit the higher cap battery? I ask because if I need service I'd like to be able to put it back to original condition.

Hi BEST forum on the net,

I've read the threads, purchased 2 mouthpieces, bought multiple vapor attachments for my bubbler & several sizes of tubing, got out the Dremel tonight and thought I created the best water pipe attachment for the Pax known to man - until the damn metal stem from the mouthpiece got stuck in the Pax (I was careful to make sure it only went in for just the first click). I had to pull it out forcefully with a pliers and multiple attempts. I thought I lost a brand new Pax :(

What is the best bong attachment for the Pax that our crew has come up with so far?

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

No mods..... I just made sure the batteries were no longer than 66mm. I can put eveverything back together in original condition should I need to return it.

There are a few things people have done. Some use Silicon tubing to attach a MP to a glass adapter. I used Medical tubing with a bit of super glue (that was to make sure that the MP never came off) and ran that to an 18 - 18 glass adapter.

In other news, I picked up this little piece from our local HS. Sure it is smaller, but I paid 25 dollars for it. Also this was exactly what I was looking for. Little water diffusion and hits through ice. I plan on doing something to make ice "tubes" to go in the main tube. I also like that I can pull the downstem and pull the pax just through ice, no water diffusion.

Fantastic. One more thing. How do you make the tab connectors I see soldered to the end of the battery? It looks like they just plug into the Pax's board leads.

Hi all! I've read this whole thread and hate to say I've given up. After about 6 months of going back and forth with the friendly people at VapeWorld, and going through two units with broken temperature buttons I finally threw in the towel and got a refund for my pax. It was definitely a sad day, but ease of upkeep is a huge factor for me when it comes to vaporizers. Unfortunately, the pax was just too high maintenance for me to justify having spent $250 on it.

Thanks welderboy. We've got a local RC shop that's big into the micro choppers. I bet they'll have something perfect there.

So I'm sure many of you have hit both the wispr/ iolite and the pax. How does flavor compare.

Did you get a full refund?

I hated my Wispr. It always had a bitter taste to me.
I think I was overly sensitive to the essence of the soft rubbery mouthpiece.
I do not have the issue with my Iolites.
The Pax had much nicer flavor than the Wispr in my opinion.

I just gave away my Wispr last week. I had not used it since getting my PAX.
The taste of the PAX is much cleaner than the Wispr in my opinion,
and I do not like the butane. The Wispr was my first vape and it served it's purpose.
I have not combusted since getting that first vape.
By the same token, I have not used the PAX since getting a Solo!
I rarely have a need for a discrete vaporizer. If I do encounter such a situation I would use the PAX.

My wispr will always serve me the purpose camping etc. got to be able to recharge. If the pax could be connected to my USB battery pack, well then. But till then I'd still need the Wispr. I was thinking pax for short trips and around the house for a quickie, more one hitter style than my EQ.

Back on topic: I used some silicone tubing on the mouthpiece (info found in this thread somewhere) and vape my PAX trough my glass now, happy times

Edit: adapted to PAX thread topic... mixed up threads / "accidentaly" lost focus

Was supposed to get my replacement Pax from Ploom today. Unfortunately, they addressed the package incorrectly and it was sent back to Ploom. This is my 3rd? replacement now, and honestly, I'd rather get a refund. I purchased my original Pax at Vape World. Any body know if Ploom ever gives refunds instead of a replacement? Thanks!

I just received an email from Ploom with the status of a repair. This Pax was having the temp light issue that even the lube wasn't helping.

They said that this Pax had the older mouthpiece design. They put in the newer mouthpiece and its working fine.

I was only aware of the first mouthpiece redesign. Which my Pax didn't have. So my question is. When did they do the second mouthpiece redesign? Plus what did they change.

I have been using a brand new backup Pax while waiting for the warranty repair.

So far its been a week, six sessions a day and not one temperature light issue. Even without the lube. This one must have the newer mouthpiece also. But without a side by side comparison. I can't tell whats different.

How many ovens on average are you guys getting before it starts having issues or becomes unusable?

I am having some intermittent issues with mine and even with the first oven from a freshly cleaned Pax but after 2 or 3 ovens it would become unusable and needed to be cleaned. It became a daily routine to clean it just for it to work with the intermittent issues. And yes I am going all out with cleaning this including using interdental brushes for the spring area.

Ploom over chat thought it was not acting as it should and asked me to contact the "authorized dealer" I got it from. So I contact them, send it in, they did their "tests" came back no issues so they sent me back the same unit and of course it's the same issues.

Am I expecting too much out of this? As I see some people are getting much more use than I without intermittent issues.

What issues are you having? Different issues have different solutions, also have you tried the lube yet? The lube seems to help the temp light problem a lot

Yes, it came with the lube and I have been using it. Typical temp light issues, sticking mouthpiece...

I wouldn't even dare attempt trying kief or bubble hash as you have done. I don't think it would last one oven before having issues. Even if it could I probably wouldn't as it's purpose for me is for flowers.

I tend to get this behaviour every few weeks and for my pax it helps when I clean the stem area with Iso before lubing, just a drop on the mouthpiece stem and some clicky action then (watch out for the Temp button you don't want iso on there).
Afterward the lube action and that helps me usually.

I did have occasions when that wasn't enough and I had to re-clean the area between stem and case with a thick pipe cleaner and/or one of those dental mini brushes mentioned earlier... after that big clean the temp light issue usually stays away for weeks on my device.

Ay you mentioned Bubble hash or kief can make the problem reappear faster but it's so worth it in taste and everything else..... just needs more thorough cleaning for me then. ;)

Edit: fixed typo
