Hello people, how are you?

In the last 3 years I ve been suffering of General Anxiety Disorder and depresion, and since i began to take de medications i am looking for alternatives like CBD and Ayahuasca.

But lets focus here in the CBD.

Im gonna to cultivate high CBD strains so that i can have acesso to CBD as an anti anxiety medicne, the first in my list is Juanita, La Lagrimosa from Reggae Seeds.

Im wanna know in what temperature i can vaporize only the CBD content of the material? CBD is really a good medicine for anxiety? Im asking that because my life at the moment is really fuck up because the problems about depression and anxiety, and i m really hopefull that maybe CBD is just what i need.

If anyone that suffer from the some condition that i have please share your experience with CBD and anxiety. Thanks!

You could also just eat the ABV from your current friendly neighborhood strain. The vaping process typically leaves behind a high concentration of CBD. Start with low doses (half gel-cap full or less) and experiment upwards. Allow plenty of time to digest (1-4 hr). Don't pop more than a pre-determined amount until you are dead sure what the effect of that is. Also experiment with the color of the ABV consumed.

Vaping temperatures don't work like that, unfortunately. There's a great article here all about how it does work, written by our very own pakalolo.

There's also an old thread on anxiety here that you may be interested in. It has a lot of great posts.

Hello nopartofme, how you doing?

It´s impossible just to vaporize the CBD content by ajusting the correct temperature? Im new at this

Im asking that because a lot of anedoctal studies are showing that pure CBD has tremendous medical benefits, including in the areas of psychosis, anxiety and other disorders. One of the studies show the benefit of CBD in social anxiety pacients.

The problem is that to acheive that you need to vaporize only the CBD and nothing of THC.

Anyone know if it´s possible vaporize separately the THC and the CBD content?

No, it doesn't work that way. This isn't chemistry, per se, it is working with a natural plant. Exact temperatures do not cause only specific compounds to appear.

At lower temps, more of the THC is released. At higher temps, more of the CBD is released. During vaping, compounds are released "all together"... some more than others, and the mix will change as you vape. There are a whole bunch of compounds in there, and a lot of them need each other in order to work for you.

It's better to find a few strains that are known to help with anxiety, and do some experimenting on your own with various temps to get the results that work best for you.

I personally like high THC strains. What can I say, I like the felling of being high LOL. However, I know some people prefer low THC high CBD strains. For some people THC increases anxiety, especially strong sativas, but I have found the opposite to be true(everyone's biochemistry is different). My dispensary does in fact carry high CBD low THC strains for people who are sensitive to the effects of THC. There are several strains that fit that bill. There is a strain called "Harlequin" which typically is only about 5% THC, yet has very high 10% to 12% CBD. If you have access to lab tested herb; I suggest you look for strains with a similar profile as "Harlequin", or alternatively you could try Tetra Labs pure CBD capsules. One thing is for sure though....as others have said you can't vape CBD only without THC. I hope this helps.......

Thanks guys! That info really help me!

I heard a lot about Harlequin, but the problem is that i live in Brasil, so i have to found CBD rich strains in seed form, not in clone. In the last 2 years a lot of high CBD genetics has been created with the Project Z and the people from CBD Crew.

I guess i have to found another manner to consume pure CBD!

Thanks for that info man, it was exactly what I was looking for!

I've suffered from crippling anxiety and depression for almost 20 years, and I find it is a fine balance and often up to the individual as to how they need to medicate effectively. Once you are sure you are exercising, sleeping and eating properly, among other things that folks like us should be doing for better mental health, then you can look at herb as that extra helping hand. In my case, I find strains that are balanced hybrids work best for me. I will sometimes start low for taste, and then ramp up, but normally I just pack a bowl and crank the temp high to extract as deep as I can. If I go too light on the temperature, it can really accentuate my anxiety which is not good at all. I also try not to over medicate, which is VERY tempting when you are down in the dumps or crawling up the walls with fear and worry...over medicating can easily trigger depression, at least in my own experience.

So yeah, not sure if that blurb was very helpful...but in my case, it has been years of personal research, and continual adjustments that have helped me control things. And even so, I still slip.

I medicate for anxiety. A few weeks ago I decided to buy some high CBD strains, which can be found here, but not in abundance. I got some Cannatonic and Voodoo. I've actually been really pleased with them. I'm not convinced I've got the greatest bud here, but I can definitely feel the anti-anxiety effect of these strains. I had to do an interview today and was struck with crippling anxiety about an hour beforehand (stomach pain, shortness of breath, the works). Knowing that high CBD should help, I vaped two consecutive stems of Cannatonic using my Solo. It totally chilled me out. I have to say, I do think it helps pure anxiety a little better than high-THC strains (which, don't get me wrong, I love!).

I appreciate having lots of options and the ability to use different strains for different purposes. I hope to always have high CBD meds on hand from now on, because I do see a difference when I'm really anxious.

^ Found a relevant article (very interesting read with a lot of good science): http://www.examiner.com/article/getting-the-flax-straight-about-cannabidiol

A research team based in Poland may have discovered that CBD is a major component of the flax plant. The Cannabis plant also makes CBD (Cannabidiol), a miraculous plant compound that demonstrates the potential to treat a wide range of diseases with virtually no side effects.

Interestingly, the researchers discovered the presence of CBD in flax accidently. They were analyzing genetically modified flax plants and comparing them to natural flax plants. The team noted that the production of several compounds was slightly enhanced in the GMO plants and decided to identify them.

Further analysis revealed that CBD-like compounds were prevalent in many parts of the flax plant and their products, such as such as fibers, seeds, leaves, and seedcakes.

The authors believe the beneficial actions of flax (such anti-inflammatory effects) may be due to the presence of CBD. However, the mechanism of CBD’s benefits remains a mystery since CBD does not activate the same receptors as THC.

Great Scott!
Dixie Botanicals is now shipping 50 state legal CBD tinctures/pills/and balm.

I have the bottle of the 100mg tincture on its way to me now. The prices are REALLY high imo, but it is the only source I've ever heard to buy CBD by itself.

I'm hoping for great results with my anxiety. Heres to hoping it helps with my fibromyalgia as well.

I have used both the 100mg and 500mg tinctures from Dixie Botanicals and have experienced terrific results for anxiety and pain relief. 2-3 doses daily usually does the trick. When I am in a situation where high THC strains are the only option available I give myself an extra dose of CBD to counteract the negative effects of THC. Works wonders for me and has reduced feeling uncomfortable when medicating. As Tweek mentioned, if you use cannabis to treat anxiety be careful of over medicating. Start with small doses, wait a few minutes, and medicate again if necessary.

Do you mind telling me what kind of pain you are treating? I have what the doctors believe is fibromyalgia. Gotta see a specialist ASAP but they are booked for a while. Anyway how much of the 100mg were you using to get pain relief? My pain is far worse than my anxiety lately. I'm really trying to find some form of pain relief that works. I've had mixed results with the 100mg dixie tincture. Somehow it seems to stop pain a bit, but it is VERY short lived like 20 minutes. That can't be right if people are using it 2-3x a day and getting relief.

Please any insights you have would be great. I'm thinking of starting a thread on it now actually.

I am treating gastrointestinal pain (GERD, Gastritis, and Hiatal Hernia). Without CBD my stomach is in knots and feels as if someone lit a torch inside my belly. With the 100mg tincture I used a full dropper and sometimes a bit extra. I've had much better results with the 500mg tincture and half a dropper so it's the only one I buy now.

A full dropper of the 100mg tincture equates to about 2.5mg of CBD and a half dropper of the 500mg tincture equates to 3.25mg. It may require some testing on your part but I find my sweet spot for pain management to be in the 3mg-4.5mg range. If your medicating for anxiety I have read in a study that 2mg daily is a good dose (I have to find the source to add some credibility to this).

Pretty impressed with Dixie Botanicals and I love that they are showing the world the medical benefits of Cannabinoids without the need to get stoned at all. Hopefully this leads to more studies where Cannabis is treated as true medicine and not some stoner loophole.

I'll have to try using more. There is also "canchew" gum with CBD from another company. They offer 10mg per dose in gum form, but its like $125 for a 32 pack :/ meaning ONE dose a day will cost me $125+shipping every month.

It is certainly very expensive for testing. If it provides pain relief I am after then it is worth it.

Any hints for how long it lasts? I've actually started a thread specifically on the CBD in this medical section of the site. I'd love for you to join in on the discussion.

Thanks for all the input!

Thanks for the information on the "canchew", another CBD product I'm going to be trying soon. I have never dosed more than 6.5mg at once but I can imagine that 10mg would be terrific for pain.

I usually time my doses 4-5 hours apart usually in between meals(although it sounds as if you might be in more pain then me). The tincture usually works best for me on an empty stomach. I hope you find a dose that works great for you, CBD and MMJ have been a life saver for my stomach pain.

Yes sometimes. Depends on the strain and how fast I vape. I find slowly vaping is far less likely to make me anxious than quick massive rips in a power session.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
ANY & ALL intake of MJ no matter the strain causes me anxiety if I'm not observant of my material qty / session sizes !

35+ yrs of daily use and no tolerance build up EVER.... *Thank-You super receptors!* :ko:

Well what I mean is if I were to vape half a gram at once I'd panic, but if I spaced that half gram over a night I'd have zero issues.
