Okay, so I just got off the phone from EZvapes with Chris.
I explained the long cord and black rubber on the bottom of the bamboo.
Chris told me he spoke with Phil directly from VXH and Phil told him that for over 2months, they were putting the new parts in the older units, so cosmetically it would look like an OG but have the new + parts. I am at work so I cant really be calling VapexHale now but did manage to get that info. I will try the auto shutoff thing tonight when I'm home and be digging more into this tomorrow.

For people worrying about the warranty. The paper I got was the old print out. I advised them to scratch out the 1 and put 2 for new orders so people wouldnt panic. So yes it is a 2 year warranty like the website states. Okay I'm tired. I am supposed to be taking pics and being happy, not working to find out which unit I have lol. I need a vape break!

Thanks for keeping us updated, I guess I will find out tomorrow when I get my unit.

Rocky Mountain High!
I just got the message from Stonemonkey that it is indeed a +, and all EzVapes are +.
I can rest easy now, and hopefully you and others can too that ordered from EzVapes.

Mission accomplished!
That's good to know!

Update: Just got my return email confirmation of my support ticket of Sat. 4/20. Considering how busy they are with the Cannabis Cup I give them props for the quick response. I called VXL and talked to Phil. He's promising to ship out my repaired Cloud next week. If true that will be awesome... stay tuned!

It has been a CRAZY 72 hours, the Colorado Cannabis Cup was bigger than LA and Seattle combined. The team got snowed in and are now heading back to Philly. Please allow us another 48 hours to get back online to answer our support questions. Just a quick update:

Best Booth - 3rd Place
Best Glass - 2nd Place
Best Product - 2nd Place

Congrats! So is Philly VXC's new HQ? Thats pretty damn close! :D

If you guys got those clouds on sale at EZVapes beware.
I recieved am email from VXH stating:
The cloud must be purchased at MSRP to obtain warranty.
Therefore I didn't buy one and will order from a closer shop.

OK, I got my unit from EZVapes yesterday. Has the 9' cord and the rubber piece on the bottom of the bamboo (SN#0278). I admit that I was worried about it being a Cloud + or not, but green light came on at 6 minutes, and didn't shut off for 65 minutes. However, it did get just as hot as my original unit does. So I guess its a Cloud +...sort of.

Also it came with a sheet specifying a one year warranty. I wrote to EZVapes about it, but haven't heard back yet.
However, when the sale started I wrote to VapeXhale about it and I got this back today after I had ordered and received mine from EZVape and being assured by Jerod there that the Cloud they were selling did have a two year warranty:

The Cloud must be purchased at MSRP with a provable receipt to register the warranty. No distributor is authorized to sell below MSRP regardless of discount code.

VapeXhale

I'd like to point out that this isn't stated on either website and in fact was specifically contradicted by VapeXhale's Authorized Distributor to me and others.

Many people seem to not go over some point on the dial with herbs as they don't wish to go any hotter. I use the full range and I still think it could go a bit hotter. I think my unit is colder, than most. On max I get huge toasty rip with most of the actives. And evenly toasted brown ABV after few. But it seems to me most Clouds do this somewhere from noon to 3. For weed it seem to be just right tem range. But i don't know how this will handle concentrates. My Cloud basically low-temps until 3 o'clock and only that small interval further I consider it high-temp vaping.
My min-noon-max temps feel like 150-180-210 °C for me as compared to EQ.

Also it probably has more drag that other units. The top 2 restrictions in the bamboo seem undersized. When I look at other units these holes look a bit bigger on them than on mine. I can't utilize my lungpower to it's full extent with this unit.

My leds also sometimes drop to red briefly when I move the unit, or attach HT or just do about anything.

Even with all these minor issues I love the unit and haven't used any other vape since. I just think that for 650$ of saving and being on preorder line (which died) and spreading the word (I am probably even resposible for several orders) I should have deserved better. My unit just seem to have almost every non-fatal issue known. I wonder how this unit passed QC. And with all this it's still solid as tank and working strong. I should've waited even more. But that would mean more months without this vape.

While not ideal, a make-shift solution may be to just pack the ELB tighter. The more packed it is, the darker the ABV. Hence the risk of combustion with an overly packed ELB.

I ordered my Cloud from EZVapes over 2 months ago, so it was likely before they had received a batch of legitimate fully functioning Cloud + units ... mine was likely just one of the defective models from the bad batch, so anyone who ordered recently should have nothing to worry about.

I just spoke with VapeXhale support and they were extremely helpful, understanding and apologetic about the delays with my replacement unit. The Cloud is so well received that it seems like they are struggling to handle the heavy workload lately ... a good problem to have, though!

That is possible only with low-grade herbs as otherwise it would knockout me. I've also heard covering the intake to some extent will do this. I will try it someday when I get some hash to do.

Here's an odd wrinkle...I finally managed to get through to the VapeXhale website and I'm pretty sure I looked at every page possible. The only place the Cloud Warranty is mentioned is in the FAQ (https://www.vapexhale.com/index.php/faq):
What is your warranty?
We provide a one year warranty on all VapeXhale products. Our warranty covers any manufacturing defects; it does not cover issues arising from misuse. Full terms and conditions are spelled out in the warranty card included with each unit. Registration by serial number (inscribed on the bottom of each unit) is required for warranty entitlement tracking.

No mention of the two year warranty or cautions about buying for less than MSRP/MAP.

I realize SM and the gang are on the way home so final disposition might be a couple of days away. But SM has always stated and demonstrated they stand by their customers so I expect they'll stand by their product and Authorized Distributors in this case, but will clear it up for the future.

I'm somewhat concerned why they wouldn't spell it out clearly on their webpage, and wait until after it is purchased to let you know you bought it too cheaply. Are you sure you couldn't find it somewhere on their site?

I pack my bowls loose; I pack them tight. I hit them light; I hit them hard. I sip them with bubblers; I rip them with lung sized monsters.

The only time I use 12noon or lower is when I am using the hydratubes or especially the dry tube, as these aren't as big of a heatsink as a full sized bong. Whenever I use the Cloud with a bong, 99% of the time its on MAX. Never even once have I combusted but I do get some dark dark brown ABV with that method.

Personally I have found the opposite, loosely packed ELBs cache evenly and quickly whereas tightly packed ones develop more of a gradient (ie, still some green on top by the time the bottom of almost black). Either way both work just fine.

More than how you pack the ELB, how hard you draw affects how dark the ABV will be. You just can't get dark ABV from the cloud with really slow sips. It produces much better clouds and darker ABV with a faster hit.

BTW last night I learned a 'trick' of sorts to vape more oil from 2-capping. You know how some tends you wick to the side of the top screen? You can actually flip it upside down and just balance it upside down on the other screen, and get a surprising amount of vapor. Of course you will have to keep the cloud right side up!

I'm pretty sure I checked every page I could.

And wouldn't the FAQ page be the logical page to cover that? Then again the FAQ (as I quoted above) makes no mention of a 2 year warranty...only 1 year.

Which is more "official"? Postings on a web forum or statements of policy on the company's own website?

I wonder, has anybody received a Cloud with 2 year warranty paperwork?

Well, I get home ready for takeoff, but no. Not happening. I left my ELBs at work =\
Thats what I get for snapping pics individually and being lazy and not putting it back immediately.

As far as the warranty thing goes, I can only state what I've been told and what research I did with the companies involved. If you want to be skeptical, go right ahead. I know I have a plus, and a 2 year warranty. I cant say for sure, but I'm guessing the new paperwork doesnt exist yet, or hasnt been given to all the companies who sell the clouds. And to the website information part, well let me just say I couldnt go to the registration page from the VXH site at all. I had to send a ticket in with all the information to start the process after calling them up and speaking with someone directly who suggested to do so. I have no complaints with the company growing and having to deal with some issues when they start dishing out more product. AS long as there is communication going back and forth, everything can be resolved. Thats all I have to say about the situation.

I'm a very unhappy camper for being such an idiot to leave my ELBs in the same drawer with the jar and grinder. =\

If it's packed tighter, it will need to be stirred to get out all the actives. It's been mentioned a number of times throughout the thread that overpacking can lead to combustion on max depending on the max temp of the unit in question. When the ELB is tightly packed, there is more restriction and less space for airflow with a result similar to what you'd get by throttling the bamboo, which is another risk for combustion.

How hard you draw shouldn't affect how dark the ABV will be. One of the big selling points of the Cloud is it's ability to maintain a constant temperature regardless of draw speed. So, pull hard or soft, the temp should remain the same, as it has in my experience.

I just noticed some gook stuck on the inner part of my bamboo right where the passage narrows. i used some ISO on qtip but there is still some on there. I did it hot as I figured the heat would assist in loosening the oil. It did somewhat but now there is still a small amount - I know its not hurting anything but it is absolutely driving me NUTS - any ideas?

The narrow will discolor a little, even when cleaned religiously it seems . . . I haven't tried PBW on it yet though . . .

If you've got some around, acetone will cut burned-on resin more enthusiastically than iso (may need a few min rubbing, though), but it's a significantly more poisonous solvent (and has a nastier odour/taste), so make sure to rinse with iso afterwards and then iet the Cloud sit hot for a while just to be sure. Do the actual cleaning when the tube is warm but not hot, or you'll just flash-vapourise the acetone on the part of the q-tip touching the glass the instant contact occurs, and basically just be rubbing the stain with dry cotton.

Be careful of nail-polish remover, though (which is a common source), as it often contains frangrances to cover the acetone smell, and can leave an unpleasant-smelling residue after the acetone evapourates. (Plus, a lot of NPR these days don't even contain acetone.) Check the label and if it only mentions acetone, or acetone and water, go for it.
