I was thinking about doing that, but i knew i'd regret that though, sounded like a bad idea lol

I JUST found this though, the vapor blunt 2.0, and it pisses all over this unit as a practical portable unit if you ask me on pure merit alone but, I really can't wait to try that one out. i also really wanna try a davinci and an arizer solo. the vapor blunt 2.0 has a hydro attachment, i will advice anybody with any common sense not to purchase such a waste of thc. you don't need water with vapor...granted on a portable unit which is likley a direct contact heat, and your gonna burn bud and have some hot vapor. you really don't wanna filter that vapor. bad idea if you ask me. I love a good heavy hitter bong but not when we're talking about 70% thc. i mean whats the point?

heres the water attachemnt version - its nice glass work, good design lots of bubbles, but again why water with vapor? perhaps i'm more mistaken than i think. but if you ask me that sounds silly, water obsorbs thc.

unfortunalty for me i ran out of herb yesterday, i had bougt some specificly to test the pax..but it was several days late and we all know how that works :) I was only able to use maybe 4 sessions or 4 bowls. and tan this morning i used some keef or "pallon" i had been saving after a few grinding ssessions but that didn't seem to work to swell in the unit :\ seems to be wasteful, my tower unit is far more efficiant than this portable unit. the vapor blunt looks to heve a none contact heating supply though, uses a top hat screen, about 3\4" across, so smaller troff but appears to be the better man in ever other reguard.

Shpooding Time.
Try one with a bong, than without. Theres a difference, thats why people do it. I've tried the vapor blunt with a friend and it was meh, pax shits on anything I've tried, even the few plug-ins I have used.

I gatta say. now that ive had a chance to see the dr and reup. I properly filled this beast with some decent flower, nice consistancy, pack it just a little tight like they say. and what ever reason it pulls easier? i dont get it. once it warmed up with all that flower though, it rocked. i really regreat that i already ordered me the VP 2.0 already XD i like this pax more for its stelath. great rider. i took it for its first test run. you could toke on this in front of 20 people walking down a st and nobody would be the wiser!

I did score my 2.0 for 170$ which is a killer price! I take risks on that dirty boxes but you win allota the time.

the pax i got was 250, cant really find em cheaper. after seeing the review on the intenrals of htis unit, i gatta say they could of made it much cheaper!!!!!!!!!! but the upside is the good heat control. i hear it has some decent heat control. even though i still feel it cooks to fast, with a properly filled bowl it seems much better. I guess thats where the mod pictures i saw come into play lol did somebody accualy do that?

Yeah it probably costs them like $100 to make but the 10 year warranty is seriously valuable: some people have had 3 or 4 replacements and Ploom is friendly and replies quickly, that quality of service is worth the price imo

for those that had to send your back what did you do to cover up the cannabis smell? Do they not mind or are you running some different herbs through it before sending it in?

I got my Pax and really like it. Firstly to those that say the airflow is more restricted than the Solo, you definitely don't have my Solo. I have one of the very first Solos made and I can tell you the Pax is like an open straw compared to my Solo, WAY better airflow. The new Solos must have dramatically improved airflow, on my Solo you'd think it was sealed shut if it wasn't for the vapor you exhale. On the Pax I can clearly feel and even control the airflow which I never could with my Solo.

I have to say compared to my LSV in terms of vapor production the LSV beats the Pax, but not by that much I'd say which is a great for a portable. The Pax definitely beats the Solo for me due to the much larger chamber capacity, one load does the job with the Pax while I normally did several with the Solo which was annoying (I just wanna relax, not spend half an hour filling and emptying my vape over and over again). The Pax is also incomparably more portable than the Solo, the few times I did take my Solo outside, I had this ridiculous huge bulge in my pocket and you need to wait for the glass stem to cool after use and put it in another pocket. You also can't hold the Solo in any direction or carelessly as the glass stem can fall out.

So for me the Pax without a doubt beats the Solo, but of course you can't beat the fact the Solo can be pushed to a few months of use between cleanings if you wanted to, I'll see if it's really a problem having to clean the Pax often in the next few days and weeks.

Thanks to everyone that helped me decide.

francis,
I recently aquired a pax and am wondering what non-mary jane smokes people are using. I've tried a smooth danish export tobacco blend but it's somewhat harsh. Any recomendations? Tried searching the threads but it's a broad thing to look for.

i dun goofed up my white temp light button several weeks ago, and it still seems to be kinda stuck. I have tried to put a little exactly blade on the perimeter of the button and scrape and wiggle around, but it is still stuck. I can only change the temp if i push pretty hard on it, and i am afraid that it might get stuck down if i push too hard :(

Also my friend just got the pax :) but he is having trouble with getting the technique down.

I just noticed the "screen" on my Pax is completely smooth and solid on the back side, there's no holes at all for air to flow through. The 3 replacement screens I got are also completely solid with no holes.

Do I have defective screens that were not punched all the way through or is it normal for them to not have any holes at all?

Thanks

welderboy

its 4:20 somewhere.....
The edges of the screen are scalloped and the air flows through the gaps between the screen and the oven wall

no holes are on the screens. they are "plates' whose warped shape and edge allow air to pass.

Pack of Screens

Three replacement screens should you misplace yours, or simply prefer one that’s fresh and clean. The Pax screen is a solid plate with a screen-like pattern, not actual holes. The design is unique to the industry, featuring a plate that channels vapors through the heating chamber.

I was thinking of changing out the battery in my Pax. Would this be a suitable replacement? The description seems similar to what was listed on this forum, but I really don't know much about batters.

Queer in a high haze
I left my Pax on the charger for 3 hours+ and then took it off to check to use. As it warms up I check to see it was fully charged, but it showed battery is at yellow. I took a quick few hits and left it back on the charger again for another hour or so. Still like shows the battery isn't fully charged. Any ideas what to do? Should I send it to have it looked at or do I need to do a better job cleaning it.
