Discontinued Thermovape Cera

You're not alone there. I too have 8 of 'em stashed away. Great price, and even if they introduce an even cheaper one the performs even better I won't feel stocking up was a bad idea I don't think, these guys do an outstanding job IMO. They also breathe new life into other supplies like Persei.

With all this chatter I too am thinking 'maybe just one set of four more?'.......

"Get 'em quick, before they're all gone".

OF

OF, what batteries are these and where might I find them? Do they perform better than red AW IMR's, and any chance they have them in 18350?

Thanks! I'll see if I can find them somewhere else, looks like they only have one and I'd rather not take the opportunity from you fellahs.

Before everyone goes and buys a ton of these batteries, remember lithium batteries have a operational life, even if left unused. So don't buy them with idea of just storing them for later. The shelf life of a lithium battery is about 3 years.

So you are wasting oil with the Cera or it's so good that you are using it to much? lol
I find it just depends on how you use it. When I first got mine, I went through 1g in a couple days. Cera is powerful enough to vape extracts pretty quickly if you let it and I think there's a natural tendency to just push it to the limit.

After those first couple days, I just scaled back on my own and now I just load maybe .25g every couple days or so. Every once in a while I'll treat myself to a giant lung busting hit, followed by a coughing fit though. It's a nice feature.

I was just going to say the same thing, they don't die completely but they won't last as long when they're old. Also by the time you'd need them they'll be better batteries available anyway

Thinking about it, you aren't wasting oil in the sense that it's all going into your body. I mean we put it in the Cera cart, it doesn't leak or disappear, it has to go in our lungs.

But the other thing is that I'm betting more than half of the vapor is exhaled again. Those thick clouds we love aren't made of soot and smoke, they're just solid oil droplets so dense it looks like fog. I've also noticed the eo resins up my glass quicker than even the thickest flower vapor. So some oil is wasted because we don't absorb it.

And yet the final thing to think about is that the thicker and denser the vapor, the faster you absorb, the greater the effects. I'm a strong believer that stronger hits are more effective because more vapor is forced to condense and you absorb more (like glass pieces getting dirtier faster, our lungs are given more as well) and I have to say the eo cart medicates like no other so that theory seems to be holding :D

While this is definitely a factor in some chemistries of Lithium batteries, it's not true for all. For instance, Lithium primary cells have the longest storage lifetime of all common batteries. These guys are pretty tough, which is why they don't need protective circuits, since they don't need protection from the deep discharge conditions that damage the more familiar types (on which the common advice is based). Nothing is free, of course, in exchange we have lower total charge capacity (by maybe 1/3) and lower total cycle life (by maybe half?). One of the things we get in exchange is, however, better storage life as I understand it.

I have no problem stocking up on several year's worth, nor recommending it. The chances of finding a better battery are probably pretty good (the need for such high performance won't go away) but six dollars a copy isn't going to repeat I bet?

IMO both good insurance and investment?

its not me. its cera.

I dk how you feel its waisting...the vapor is insanely dense for me you just gotta remember to hold that hit in, and I used to dab like a gram a day, but I Quit for 2 weeks while my cera EO was getting repaired, And this thing gets me so incredibly fucked up after like 6 hits, Im scared of this thing lol I was in my bed and almost fainted or passed out, not sure, but I had to splash some water on my face and I could barely walk lol, It could be your concentrates?

Make sure to give a proper warmup, its really easy to get impatient i do it sometimes and notice the difference in vapor production. At least 30 seconds with the core empty, then another 20-30 once loaded. I leave the cap/MP off during this because its not needed and just gets hotter quicker. Start with a really slow/steady inhale untill you get vapor. Make sure your inhale is pretty consistant whatever speed it is, the few times I combusted I was inhaling way too hard I think. Also guys properly ground and dried flower will make a big difference. I use a 15$ coffee grinder from walmart and it works great, turns an 8th into saw dust in 15 seconds flat.

Canswe: From what ive read the jingle is normal, Its supposed to be loose for heat expansion.

If your getting poor vapor production try taking the cap off and check if the load moved all together, you will see a small gap between the load and the walls of the ceramic bowl. if this is happening u can spread it out carefully with your finger. I havnt been having this problem using a really dry/fine grind filled 3/4 to barely full(i dump it in and gently spread it out, i dont pack it)

These are just suggestions to try based off my experiences, dont take any of this as gospel because I'm no expert. This is just what works for me.
Been doing multiple tests with semi-soft concentrate, plant matter and "pollen". Neither have had persistent vapour production. Will be testing unprotected batteries as well, but I seriously think something is wrong, because the switch gets hot (heats up beyond the bottom body). I have crossed checked with another Cera owner and he doesn't find these issues. I've been cross testing via skype, and no luck.

TET hasn't responded so I'll just send them another mail

Can anyone give me some feedback as to whether their set screw holes have any airflow? Two of mine suck air when i pull while the other two are sealed shut. All the screws are installed correctly. Trying to decide if I need to send it in.

Persei, OF Adapter, Ti Cera EO cart, Nibbler x, FTW!
no mp, just removed o-rings and nibbler slides right on! i had an extended mp on, i slid it down and it fit, then i noticed that the cera cart and bottom of nibbler were about the same size. pull the plug out the bottom of the nibbler, insert cera. Booyah!
warning, pull on and off slowly

Could you just pop a nibbler on top of a cera without the mp?
that's what that is. but you have to pull the bottom out of the nibbler and remove o-rings from cera

i used one of the extra red rings that came w/ nibbler on the bottom ring space (nearest holes) of the cart and was able to CAREFULLY slide the nibbler over them. also, draw slightly while removing to minimize water backsplash into the cart

Now people won't wonder how it turns on! :D

This is just an ebay switch with ratings that vary from 2-5a depending on the seller, so we'll see how long it lasts:

But it passes 4.7 amps (fresh batt) looks good and it is SOO much easier to use!

I can't tell you how big of a pain it was to have to twist off the cap to turn it off, I'll never take buttons for granted again!

My Cera came with an Orbtronic PD2900mAh. How are they 2250mAh different in performance with Cera?

IMO they get the LL core warmed up faster, but they don't last as long as the 2900's. I use the 2250's for LL, I cant really tell much difference with the EO core so I use the 2900's for that.

Very cool and love the simplicity.

Not anymore .

Edit: still a few on ebay for a couple bucks less than I just paid

Thanks for this find. Liked the Amazon deal but not so good for Canada.
Ordered 8 of these for future stock. $54 for 8 shipped. Should keep me going for a bit.
Good find.

My Cera came with an Orbtronic PD2900mAh. How are they 2250mAh different in performance with Cera?

From what I have read the PD is the Panasonic replacement high drain to replace the CH which has been discontinued. The CH has a proven background and has very excellent high drain characteristics. The feedback for the PD has been acceptable but has been stated that the initial heat up is faster with the CH. The PD will last longer.

A side note as following about your concerns regarding button vs flat. I would not be switching back and forth as the overall length is different and going from a button top to flat top might give weaker spring connection as the button top will compress it more. If you're currently using button you might want to leave it be as the batteries can generally be purchased either way. Just food for thought.

I am curious, has anyone else tried the 3.2V LiFePo4's Tim mentioned a while back in this thread? I find the 3.7V are too hot for my needs (EO cart) but picked up a 3.2V and it seems to be just right. Would love to hear other opinions.
