Doesn't have to be ugly, mine cost $20, a few hours of labor, plus the eo cart and I think it has an old-world "spyglass" kind of charm:

I'll let you guys know when my switch comes in :D

How does the eo cart taste for you guys? I notice taste is very good after loading and diminishes quickly if you do +10 sec rips (I'm guessing that cooks the oil a bit) Also I'm wondering how long your warm up is from cold to get nice thick vapor, mine is more than 5s sometimes more than 10
Hey Joe, sure looks sexy to me. I think you should make a "how to" in the DIY section as well.
Interested in what switch you have on order for it too.

Warm up around 5 sec when full 10 when low that sounds about right

My cart has best flavor full load for sure, or should I say the flavor profile changes as he load diminishes? More hashy as it gets low, which I don't mind as I haven't had any bubble in a while and it brings fond memories of sticky gobs of bc bubble a friend bestowed upon me years ago......
Yeah sounds like mine is pretty normal then, thanks!

Hey how did u make that?
I'm gonna have to find your original post and try to make my own?!
It's still a bit of a work in progress, right now you have to push the cap in to turn it on and pull it out to turn it off, I think a nice switch would be the finishing touch!

It's pretty simple though, the only part you haven't seen is the 3/8"-24 bolt that's silver soldered to the top reducer:

And I love how shiny you can polish copper :D

That's the bottom of the eo cart, the nut that's holding it is covered in silver solder

Its hard to say, I never really weighed out a full gram and put it in. I always just dabbed into there, a dab thats like .2 will get me a bunch of hits. Hard to count cause you either take huge rips or sometimes you can sip.

For sure. And sometimes you flat out loose count and have to start over again....

Trust me on this, I've done the experiment. More than once.

Cool. How about a second nut on the bottom with a wing or thumb screw pressing the battery up for power? There are some nice knob screws about that size......

Fun stuff, thanks.

it's pretty fuggin' spectacular. needs a little more airflow, imho, i feel they errored on the side of caution, but it kicks the thickest oil i ever saw. can get urself in trouble if you don't dab already.

+1 Bob.

I feel like I am sucking a very thick milkshake through a straw to get a glass hit, not much better straight off the Cera unless doing a very long session and all the oil is warm.

After just shy of a week I am really warming up to the Cera. The first few days I was still on the fence with the oil cart but with some practice and experience I am getting the hang of it and really liking it. Dense clouds are very easy with this unit but so is "burning through oil " the way I have been using it. While I would no way call the Cera on par with dabbing for flavor or at this point for efficiency. At this point I am loading a minimum of a gram into the Cera a day and I would be doing .5g dabbing. The Cera takes the same amount of time to pre heat to give me a hit as would torching a 9-13mm TI nail but the dab is over in a second and I am still toking on the Cera. The positive side is I rarely cough with the Cera and it can be rather easy for me to have a long coughing session after a dab if it was to large, not coughing means getting more hits. However once the Cera is all warmed up and retaining heat I can keep hitting in short button holds, this is very nice when watching the boob tube with the better half and not needing to pause the entertainment for the torch every 2 minutes, or for morning sessions when my lungs have not warmed up.

The LL I am not really getting in the groove with. I have done 7g of flower, 2g of bubble hash, and 3G of pressed hash. While I get vapor doing the loose pack with flower it takes me 5 minutes to do a bowl and after a second bowl with my sore fingers on the button the entire time I am medicated but annoyed. As said a million times, doing flower without a latching switch will make your fingers stronger and calloused, I have much easier methods for flower. I was a little freaked out at how hot I got the cap and upper body, 166f is what I measured with my IR gun, this gets uncomfortable and the unit does not cool quick either. I was happy with pressed hash use, it gave great flavor and best density of vapor. I hope with some further playing I will get better with the LL cart.

All in all I am happy. A side button switch would be my preference or a locking switch but I guess my fingers will get used to it. I would surely use the oil cart in a social setting but would never subject newbs to the heat or the extended button holding.

I have playing with just slighter bigger then normal dabs for myself with EO core when it is down low on oil in the sponges, I am finding this works well with torch less glass dabbing since this is when it has maximum air flow .

So OF inadvertantly put me on a mission to try CO2 oil in the Cera. So i bought some of this Canna Nectar Vapor pen refill. it tastes like ass compared to good bho IMO. this being said, it performs pretty well. I believe that it has a faster heatup time than BHO and its easier to get the CO2 oil soaked in. has anyone else tried this or any other CO2 extracts in their cera?

Never tried it from that source, interesting packaging.

These guys are usually a pretty good source if you're local:

Good luck with it. The stuff I look for comes in small (half dram?) vials usually. I tend to buy a supply when the time and price are right.

Its not that big of a loss.
9 out of 10 clubs here were profit hungry idiots anyway.
Only a fool would pay some of the prices the local clubs were charging for soso products.

Anyways, back on track here...
idk if i can wait for a mini. I get paid friday so i gues we will see...
of course when i do get one i wil most likely do a video review as well as many many detailed pics

Hey, who really cares about him? As long as we're wishing how about you and I making our own?

Out of courtesy I'll let you go first. If you survive, please let us know how? If not, can I have your vapes?

EDIT: Sorry, the newer less expensive stuff isn't for CO2. The price is still ~$20K for CO2 gear (i.e. high pressure) from the same company: http://www.edenlabs.org/supercritical_extraction.html

Well look, it's really none of your business but it happens I have bought several Cera cores, including the one in the photo. It's the custom low power one, still does OK despite the losses. My Cera is complete and actually has a LL cart in it at present. This is different.

What I do with my gear is my business, as is how I came to have it. Your's can be your's. I get what you're saying and frankly don't like it a bit. Can we please drop this line?

TIA

OF

Oooh, aren't we getting our knickers in a twist here...take a chill pill mate.

I was merely stating my opinion on your mod...nothing personal, even although it looks like you have taken it that way by your statement...."I get what your saying and frankly don't like it a bit"...I couldn't care less mate what you like and don't like.

Why is it that you can't take any critiscism...as soon as someone say's that they think your mod's or whatever you are discussing at that moment in time is bullshit you get all het up about it....ain't anyone able to say anything against what your doing or saying ?
I don't think I need to remind you that this is the Fuckcombustion forum and not the OF fan-boy forum.

As I said in my earlier response to you, that you quoted...if that's what you want to do with your time, cash and gear then that's fine no problem for me but I don't see the point of it all, most people reading this thread either already own or are possibly soon to be owners of a Cera...god knows why anyone would want to use a spring and a battery along with a few other bits and pieces instead of the $250 vape that they have just cashed out for ??

And please OF, put me on your ignore list then that way you won't have to read my posts as you obviously don't like guy's like myself that speak their minds and not what they think you want to hear, as you obviously like to surround yourself with ass-lickers ...then we will both be happy.

@Joekickass...now were talking, your mod is way more stylish.
I agree it has that old world spyglass look about it.

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
Harmudge, just cause I don't want you to get banned again let me try to put my two cents in. I think you missed the point with OF's mod. I am sure I will get corrected if I am wrong but we will see.

I think the point is to further evolution of vapes although there was an entertainment factor for us as well as giving him a project for fun. I believe that with the first line of vapes that TET had people did just what OF is doing now which got us to the cera. All the great minds in here with there ideas tweaks the new products because it gives ideas and plausible options for the manufactures. Of course when all is said and done it will come in a pretty package but that wasn't the point.

I think the other point OF was making is that if you can't afford the $250 or more for accessories you can just spend $100 on the cart and make the mod that he just showed or mod to use on the old line. That is a $150 cheaper then the cera. I also believe he said you can use that cigar tube to put it in which hides the ugly. I don't think the real point was everyone go out and do this and carry it as your everyday vape. It was more of a learning thing.

Now can you two please stop fighting you both make great points but seem to miss each others points. I hope I have explained this correctly so this can end.

Dreamerr, I thank you for your concern......I obviously don't want to get banned.

I understand tinkering, tweaking, DIY etc etc....I'm a man afterall......and where it can take you.
I was merely stating my opinion of the ghetto mod and not getting personal...but sadly the maker of the ghetto mod took it upon himself to take it personally and throw his toys out the pram.

In my day to day occupation I'm a chef...and not blowing my own trumpet here, but I wouldn't be half as good a chef today if it hadn't been for critiscism along the way...god, any inventor of anything has faced countless days of critiscism along the way and they take it in their stride.

If it is all about expressing criticism then I don't think many of us see the point of criticizing a quick and dirty fix to address a broken strap. As for the ass-licker comment, geesh...

You still have to be nice when expressing your opinion. You are not only insulting OF you are insulting anyone who agrees with him. Your time here is done. FInal warning point issued.
It all comes down to expressing opinion...don't you have opinions on things and express it.

On the ass-licker front, I stand by it....this guy does not like anyone to disagree with him, he cannot take critiscism...he always has to be right, as I have witnessed numerous times around here.

Now I don't really want this discussion to continue because I don't think the guy is on-line at the moment to defend himself...not that he needs to defend himself as I'm not attacking anyone.
It will also de-rail the thread...if anyone has anything to say on this front feel free to PM me.

This forum has become extremely weird. So much that it's embarrassing to refer friends here anymore, especially the TV threads. And the drama mostly revolves-around / originates-from one member. Can't even get away from it with the ignore function (I've tried).

Haters gotta hate.

Ill try and steer this ship for a moment...joekickass your vid of the spyglass EO with the vaporblunt water tool got me psyched! I just ordered the GonG adapter from TET and the small tube from VB. I love hitting my cera outta the wp but holding it upside down gives me a mess of claim and the hits aren't as good as right side up. I believe you found epic combo!! Check of the vapeXhale hydratubes they are sick some can style. Bit more pricey and not pocketable but very nice.

Does anyone get any airflow through the set screw holes in the cart? My EO came missing a screw and even with the replacement one installed there is a small whisper of air, less than the regulated gap on the bottom, but surely noticeable. It works much better than without the screw, I am able to get nice clouds from first hit to last - about a dozen huge clouds.
