Good alternative sites?

Seriously: spanner, you should spend some time on sites like GC and RIU. A few years ago when I got back into this scene I started looking for sites where I could learn valuable information and share ideas with other intelligent people. What I found on most sites were a bunch of imbecile man/children wagging their epeens at each other. Those sites can be entertaining in the same way that some people like watching Jerry Springer, but that's not my cup of tea.

The only two sites I have found so far that demand a certain amount of civility and maturiity from their members are FC and TokeCity, and the quality of information available on both sites is far better than the other sites I've visited. I believe that the quality manifest at FC and TC are the direct result of their moderation policies which promote a healthy exchange of information with a minimum of drama.

Over at vapersforum they have the Iolite listed as a pen vape!

well outside of medical states any of this stuff is sold for tobacco use! it listed that way as an nicotine delivery device alternative to smoking cigarettes...

vapersforum is a ecig related shark tank with a no ban policy, referring him over there was a joke theyd just talk shit to him if he posted there

There are some strong-arms here, but I don't blame the forum owner for "employing" them. This place would soon turn into Woodstock '99 without some head cracking. I find the site achieves a good balance, but if you have a problem with authority it may be tough going. Get used to Red Letter Day. Occasionally I grit my teeth, but I'm sure the mods are gritting theirs right back at me (and they've got the stick ... menacingly tapping it into their palm). I couldn't imagine giving my time freely to the rough and tumble mod business, especially in the goon ghetto. Nobody likes a cop, really, but chaos up close and personal and eating your supper is worse (although off in the distance eating someone else's can give a guilty pleasure, and there's enough of that here to keep it interesting).

I'd like to hear an answer to that as well. The only place for a thread like this is in Community Discussion (where it is now), and it would be a good idea to avoid calling us draconian and immature. Getting your point across without name calling is certainly doable.

From reviewing your 2 warnings spanner it would appear that you'd like a forum where there's no rule against 'Public Discussion of Staff Decisions' or posts saying "go fuck yourselves". I don't know of any except for letstalkvape, where the only rule is 'no spam' (and that one seems to be suspended as well, since the newest member there (#13) has the same spam post in 12 different places). You could try the #1 marijuana site (for traffic)- marijuana.com, where they have a vape section that's been one of the best in the past. Currently though, the last post there is dated Feb. 27th. You'd likely also have a problem with the rules there, since they're pretty much the same as ours.

So good luck finding a better vape forum. In fact, aside from Grass City, good luck finding one with any up to date info or conversation. 10-15 minutes with a Google search and checking out the links would have shown you that. Sorry, but unless you want to talk e-cigs, FC is the only good vapor forum around, and posting here without getting into trouble is also certainly doable.

"Strong-arms" huh? Another term for thug. Not nice kelper, yet you're not being penalized for it. Where are the "strong-arms"? Employed? No, we're members who have volunteered to help keep things orderly and civilized, after being asked. Employment is defined as "an occupation by which a person earns a living". We have lives and jobs in the real world, thus a lack of time to surf the forum 24/7, and is one reason why people are able to pick at the moderating and find that we may not be modding the same way we did in 2008, or that we're not a 'hive mind', but individuals.

For quite some time this forum had only one rule- Be nice. If the posting allowed, we'd prefer to have only that one rule. But as the forum grew, we were forced to add more rules to cover all the bases, meaning problems that members created by insisting that the forum operate on their terms, and screw everyone else.

"Nobody likes a cop" - lots of people do, including me, except when I'm breaking a law and wondering who's watching. Lawyers get a bad rap too, but try and get through life without the services they provide. Like cops, they can save your bacon when you get in a jam.

I take on board your comments MAX although it is a little unfair to publicly mention the warnings ( relating to what I perceived to be bullying) as I am not able to challenge or discuss these . My infringements have been as a result of standing up against actions I found distasteful.
Although I do not post much I access the site several times during the day and find value in it.
With regard to why this thread has not been closed, I suspect that the person who posed the question was probably itching to do it ( might be wrong if so I'm sorry).
I am still interested in alternative sites but I do not want to act like a troll so please feel free to shut this thread down.

Dude. Go with the flow, if your not happy here dont post then but this is the only vaping forum so suck it up and be normal or work your way against the mods in some sort of negative agenda
