"Please" can run through you like a hot rail! Wasn't criticizing the scolding - just a commenting on a Seinfeld moment.

Understood, I'm just questioning the term.

To me "scold" infers a level of authority I don't think exists.

So i ordered the infamous bubbler from pipesdaddy yesterday & since the gongs are currently out of stock from pv i was thinking about using tubes for the time being. i am not too sure what kind of tubes will mate with the solo & the bubbler, can someone help me out & tell me which kind of tube & what size to get? will i get them at home depot?

Why not get a 18 to 14mm reducer and use the stock stem. Glass path>tubing just an idea

I've had trouble with just using glass on glass, it chipped my mouthpiece. D:

It's been posted in here, comes back to the "do your own research" deal, but I'm not sick of you yet :p

I use 1/2" silicone tubing, silicone because it has heat resistant properties, plenty resistant for what we are vaping at. And yes, Home Depot/Lowes will carry this stuff for you. :D

This is really weird by the PVHE stems with tubes are instock but without is showing no stock. Also tubes by themselves are in stock as well.

Must be how they come in, if they come packaged with the tube I'd assume they put it in the category of "PVHES W/ tube"

maynee i never did so much research in my life like i did with the solo, i feel like a scientist now lol :haw: but hey at least made a good choice in getting the solo! thanks for the tip man appreciate it, ill pick up a tube tomorrow.

anyone ever compared the pax vs solo here? i know the solo is of course better but can't help but admire how small, discreet & handy the pax seems to be. i would much rather use pax in public than solo. i hate that the oven is bigger in the pax & requires more material but for on the go that would actually be a good thing.

anyone's feed back on the pax? :spliff:

PAx vs solo, prob deserves its own thread,
But I do use both, they are both good,
Pax, discrete, small, stylish, all in one,
Although cleaning is a fairly constant job, mouth peice does get hot, not uncomfortablely so but enough to chap lips, also the bottom can be hot, zoning out and leaning on your hand will be a shock though it won't burn,
The chamber is big, but this means you can pack it once maybe and pull it out through the day, which is nice,
The pax wouldn't be you daily driver, more of a treat
The solo has one downfall size, but I find it comfortable in hand, and the size mean no external bit get too hot,
But the removable bowl and the various sizes make it more versatile, plus I like the glass
On my phone appologises for the slightly jumping prose

where does it need cleaning usually? just the oven? does the mouth piece get stuck & wont open after a while? do you taste any plastic when vaping from it? how is the battery life on pax & can it be used while charging? what holds back from the pax that doesn't qualify being a driver? sorry too many questions i am a little soloed out :D

These questions are off-topic for this thread. Please take them to the Pax thread, thanks.

I couldn't see this mentioned anywhere, how long is the break in time for the silicon taste to go away? I don't want to waste anymore material

Just wanted to share my experience so far with PV. So I ordered the PVHES Turbo at 4:30 this morning, PV sent me an email and called me directly THE SAME DAY to help clarify the main concerns I had with a pvhes turbo such as the fit of the stem (I like them snug fitting) and if a screen would come installed. I will update when I receive the new stem, but so far I am very impressed with the presentation and execution of the order that was processed. Thanks Planet Vape, can't wait to get the new glass

I assume you meant 'silicone'? Silicon doesn't smell or taste (it's the major part of beech sand). I don't know what that might be, the only silicone I know of is the insulation on the wires which is not related to the hot part at all.

AFAIK there's none in there to taste. It's basically glass, metals and ceramic cement. There's a PTFE ring, but that doesn't smell or taste at the temperatures we're working with here.

yea that's what I meant, I assumed it was the plasticy ring that keeps the glass stem in place. I only got it today and assumed it will have the normal break in time I hear about for portable vaporizers. I left it on for a couple of cycles and used it a couple of times, but the taste was fairly nasty, I got the solo because I read about how good quality the vapour was. Hopefully it will go, at the moment it tastes like the puffit did and that got sent back.

Beats me. Like I said, the ring material is not an issue as far as anyone knows.

It's glass, metal and inert stuff. Could the "fairly nasty" taste be something you've put in?

IMO Solo's reputation for excellent taste is well earned, this thread is full of such praise. I would not believe everything you read on the web.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
There 'IS' a new vape taste to them... manufacturing oils/lube I came to understand from the past.

All I did with mine was an initial iso chamber/glass/housing wipe, then followed with 3 consecutive dry burns (with the cap off of course), on heat setting 7. Even the dreaded M105 robofart unit was usable following that and became perfectly fine to use after I 'seasoned' it using only ground stems and leaves for a couple sessions of of drawing into my mouth and exhaling, but non lung inhalation.

Worked for ME ;)

I just ordered a Solo from GV.com and did a price match, ended up paying $149 shipped.
It should arrive on Tuesday.
I would like to check to see if it is an M1B which is apparently the latest model,
before breaking any seals on the box.
Is the Solo box sealed, or can you immediately just open it up?
More than likely the S/N will be on the outside of the box as well, but I am just curious.
Coming from GV I would expect it to be the latest, but if it is not, are the changes to the
later models significant enough to justify shipping it back, asking for a newer one?
Smokum's comments above about the M105 are interesting...

?Are you trying to be funny?
$149 shipped?
That is dirt cheap!
Forget the serial number just use it!

The M105 was an oddball and first SS chamber (I believe) but was known for being stinky from the get-go.

All the later progressions are just model numbers with possible firmware tweaks from what I understand. Arizer doesn't share much on the workings, even though they do stand behind their products.

Yea, seems like a very good deal, but I am seeing sales on Solo's all over the place.
It makes me wonder if Arizer is about the release a new product?

Cool, so I will see what I get.. I would imagine that there are no procedures for flashing new firmware
to the Solo, other than sending it back to Arizer...

If there is a new release planned it will be over $200 at least.
Even if it is the older product for $149 shipped it is so worth it.
I have 2 SOLOS otherwise I would buy a third one at that price.

I live in California and order many items from PLANET VAPES.
Great Service!
They have decent quality at a fair price.
I might be wrong however they have yet to let me down!

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Turbo and Regular PHVES/PHVEGonG and if you have a preference? I'm not too sure what the description on PV.com means.

What is GV? And as far as we know there is no difference between the models after 107 or at least no noticible difference. And no I doubt they are getting ready to release a new product the sales are more like the regular price now, they are always on sale

I'm hitting my solo with the 18mm PVHEGong and not connected to water as if it was just a stem. I gotta tell ya - it's like a shot gun! Serious - you guy's should try this!
