It can't charge. It's suposed that the PA bypass the battery, so in theory you won't charge/discharge it. Some one told me here that he noticed some discharging, but I almost always use the PA in my M1A3 and never noticed any discharge at all. If I have my battery at 7 for example and use my PA everyday for a week the battery will still be at 7.

Great!
So in theory if I use my solo as an home vape its better to use the PA to conserve the battery !

The only downside would be that I will need both adpaters when I carry the solo with me...unless I don't need so much battery...

Or you could live on the battery (just take the smaller charger), most owners are quite happy without a PA?

That's what I always do. Lately I take my MFLB if I go out because it's faster and more discrete. I only take the Solo if I go to someone house. Also, usually every week or two I use the solo with the battery if I have been using only the PA and recharge it full, just in case.

Just charge it during your downtime? Then you won't need to carry the PA.

Take a look at the difference while using a stock/wood stem and using the GoNG stem with your bubbler:

So you can live without it, but it does make your life easier.
I recommend anyone getting the PVHES GoNG stem...because I like it dry as well!.

sweet setup but looks a bit bulky. yumm @ those nugs lol

how much will a whole aquavape setup for the solo cost me?

That's a HT showerdome and it works amazing ;)

which one?

I don't like the aquavape dudes they charge more for shipping than the items themselves!

Never said I was not happy, I'm just saying the PA does not replace the charger, its just gives you a free battery mode which I will be using 100% unless I go to the beach or so ;)

Actually, I was specifically responding to your post about traveling (what I quoted).....basically what KoN said about four posts up?

at this point of time i am not sure which setup to go for with the solo. the PVHES shorty turbo & the tubes are back in stock & i was just about to place my order. but then i thought will that even help me with the dry mouth i get from the solo? i am thinking something with water would be a better investment than the shorty turbo, what do you guys think?

Just as a side note, $un, stop doing back to back posts, I'll bet you're driving the mods crazy!

But I think something with water would be a better investment, I love hitting my Solo out of my bong. :smug:

i prefer the curved, but ease of cleaning is a big deal to me, so straight wins, out most the time

hey, you have the shorty turbo right? i was just about to order mine but then thought it wouldn't really help me with the dry mouth situation i am having. what are your inputs on this? can you describe your experience between the stock stem & shorty turbo? i am really confused & don't know if i should get a shorty turbo or something that has water to help with my dry mouth after using the solo.

The Hydro/Hydra Tube (HT) looks very interesting for the Solo but...

- I can't access to the Vaporblunt HT sell by theyoyokid1 on ebay :
"Unfortunately, access to this particular item has been blocked due to legal restrictions in some countries."
Well i'm living in France and believe me, it is legal.

- I can't buy the GlassBlowersDirect HT either.
They don't ship outside the US.

- It left me with Vapexhave. Look very nice with a lot of choice but far more expensive than the others.
For now, they don't ship outside US/Canada.
It is about to change after 4/20, they should release an international version of the Cloud and so open the shipping outside US.

Also, Jhan from Aeon Glass also working on his own HT.
International shipping but the product is not ready yet.

It is definitely possible but depending on the size of the downstem it might not be very pretty. if it is a 15mm down stem all you need is an o-ring but dont set the bong down with your solo in it or it will tip over. if it is a thinner downstem you could probably do it with some tubing and maybe a mflb stem in the bong

i believe its a 18mm down stem, but it does look like a awkward shape to hook up the solo to huh? damn i need a better alternative but on the portable side.

If your suffering form a dry throat, i would say waters the way to go,
the shorty turbo doesn't really change that,
in fact it may make it worse as you have more air flow, that means more dry air,

i get dry mouth but that just because I'm high, i can't blame it on any imparticular device,
if you just want to cool the vapour a whip will do that for you,
it's just hot because it's so close to the source,
but if it's the hydration you after,(which i'm still debating is possible) a gong will open doors,
of course that bubbling, percolating water adds a satisfying aspect to you session, which would be nice a nice option, and more of a crowd pleaser,

this is my crowd pleaser
Verdamper-Vaporizer.jpg

and this thing truly does tears ass,
i will do a video of the rips on this thing, full guns on this will destroy anyone, there is no limit with this device, if you can go further it can,
in my opinion it has the ability to produce more vapor at one time than any one person can handle haha

ok so yea if it's choice between the two, i think you'd be best off going for the water attachment, there are a few choices. if you already own water devices then get the gong, if not, a hydratube type thing could be a winner

When debating a home vape i looked at a LSV and the vapour tamer, could be a happy medium, any body tried this??
it's glycerine filled and you put it in the freezer, this cool's your vape

I've had my Solo for less than a month, and I already have the power adapter. For my usage (main home vape) the main benefits:

1.) Battery stays charged

2.) Unit does not turn off after 12 minutes, but simply turns off the heat. This way, if I walk out of the room for a minute & come back in, I'll see the Solo heat @ 4,3,2, etc instead of having to turn it back on again. I feel better about not constantly having the thing power cycle.

For me the only con is the well-known shitty location of the charger plug - I'll likely make some kind of a dock moving forward, but for now just carefully laying it on its side when not hitting seems to work just fine.

definitely not 18mm that is aGonG size not soft glass. that piece won't work with GonG stems, only the stock stems or pvhes without ground glass

if you are looking for cheap you could always make a bong out of a liquor bottle. goldschlager, grand marnier both work great or of course there is always bong spirits vodka. the first 2 should be easy enough to get if you have any friends that bartend. the bong vodka is great but $50 and almost impossible to find an empty one someone is willing to part with. you will need a 3/4" diamond drill bit ($6 on ebay), 5/8 neoprene grommet ($1), 15mm downstem and o-ring for your solostem. there are several videos on YouTube about drilling glass and I suggest practicing first on scrap glass. anyway to get back on topic the 15 mm soft glass downstem is perfect to fit the solo stem. you could even bring your clean to stem to your LHS to make sure it fits right in.
although it isn't as nice as gong trust me it definitely works and a hell of a lot cheaper

I've always wondered if it turned off with the PA. Simply turning off the heat after 12 minutes is a lot better than I expected.

I usually lay down my Solo anyways, it doesn't get hot enough to burn anything on its highest setting, even my bedsheets.

Does it really ? it sits pretty good horizontal

There's just more of a chance that something knocks into the unit that way, possibly spilling herb into the chamber or breaking the glass stem.

Standing up it's more prone to falling over, too - so there are pros and cons to both orientations ;)

I guess some people like their Solo to be right side up

Always ;
" Law of Physics "
Heat rises ; I find it fully cooks the herbs without having to stir it .
Which is why I use the 3D print Solo stand off E-bay .

I do not like to be wasteful with my meds ,
It kind of feels like being " ripped-off " on my hard earn money .

And I'll leave you with this one :
" My solo is at an upright position more than my ...male member . "

Happy vaping Y'all

I like to stir my herbs anyways, I got into the habit from my Da Buddha. I also take the stem out anyways to let it cool down. :D

Plan came together with both the Solo GonG from PV and Pinnacle WT from eBay arriving earlier today. I had not realized the WT included rubber stoppers (in addition to Pinnacle PonG not pictured below). Used the stoppers right away for initial cleaning and now realize they could also be used to transport the tube pre-filled with liquid ready to use when the appropriate occasion presents itself.
