Good price too. I saw you wrote it in the pax thread way back about wanting everclear, but you weren't being nice to me so I never suggested it.

Boo, a shame I can't get anything like that where I am in Canada. The highest proof at our Liquor store is 151.

I've used 70% and 90% (whatever) and 99% Isopropyl and definitely like the 99% best. I use it as a solvent for many things. I would imagine the 190 proof will be worth it. For tinctures also.

Still no response or update from Vapetropolis regarding upgrading shipping or shipping the unit at all. I emailed them again, directly this time, and politely requested a shipping upgrade again.

I have the distinct feeling they're waiting for the shipping notification to go out, and then will respond with a generic "Your order has already shipped sorry" response. Very dissatisfied with their level of service thus far, but will wait for a response.

Hey everyone , I have read every page of this thread in anticipation of receiving my ssv. It has finally arrived and .... im dissapointed !! I have been unable to get a hit using various temps and pulling speeds etc and am aware of the learning curve of using the ssv so am reluctant to ask for help but alas i ve got to. Everything seems ok with the unit as in it switches on, heating element glows a deep orange on highest setting but the element only glows from half way up as in from the top of the air in take to the white cap at the top of it near the hc. Is this normal? if it is i am more than prepared to spend time getting to know the ssv but do not want to waste time with a faulty unit as i feel i have already tried every possible pulling speed and temp etc. My heat cover and element seating in the unit seem fine as i read them described earlier in the thread and i have tried various herbs of varying dryness etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

I wanted to order my SSV a few weeks ago but since I am going out to Denver for the High Times Cup on 4/20 I hope 7th Floor has a booth so I can order or buy directly on the spot, well hopefully (fingers crossed).

Still waiting for mine, I am told that it is in the mail. I'll let you know how I do for comparison.

While I wait, are you using a fully packed bowl/wand? How fine is your grind? Have you tried using more or less herb and maybe a finer grind? Does increasing the temperature not result in any difference?

Additionally, does the color of the herb change at all after you have taken several draws?

I'd also recommend giving 7th Floor a call and seeing if they can help. I've heard they're quite good to work with.

I have had great success with very minimal single hits to a bowl with the SSV. I just love the thing

Hmmmm i am pretty sure your element should glow more then halfway when turned all the way up .... I wonder if the off setting is to far up the dial

I've had my ssv for a week now. It took me like 3 days of constant attempts and different tweaks but once I got it I'm amazed! This thing will make clouds that your lungs can't hold. Just keep trying you'll get it!
Best advice I got was making sure that the dial was at about 6:35 when the unit clicks on, then start around 12:00 and go from there.

I've been running at ~1:00-2:00. Allows for a fast draw. Can easily combust herbs once they've toasted lightly I have found (after a measly week).

EDIT: I am trying the hands-free deal on the round ground glass bowl-wand-thingie. Seems like it would toast the herbs but we shall see. Seems stable enough.

Also- Vapor Tamer arrived. All chilled. With metal clamps. With a slow draw, the air is indeed cold! I'm going to place a drop of peppermint oil in the round mouthpiece. See what cold peppermint does for a guy.

EDIT EDIT: OK peppermint is cool once. Might be nicer if I was vaping turds, but since I'm vaping premium material, I'll skip the peppermint in the future.

Well ty exzen . I used a scoop off my vapir no2 to use as a comparison to my ssv and totally neglected the point that i may need more in the bowl. After filling the bowl to a healthy amount i am pleased to say i get fog like clouds at all temps i used !

Was at my LHS this afternoon. They were selling this for $329.99 :disgust: they just love to rip people off for everything. Bought some king raw papers today (I know first time I combusted in 9 months quite mad at myself about it) spent 10 bucks on that and filters.

I own a extreme Q and find myself using the whip/bong setup far more than the bag. I think the SSV would be PERFECT for me, and its just such a beautiful device. I wont get one until my Q breaks though (budget cuts lol) I love the Rasta style. I wish I could have a artist do something sick and get a custom one!

I'm glad to hear it! Mine is supposedly being dropped off today so hopefully I will be joining you in the clouds.

It's here! Looking good too, black with yellow base and yellow glass. So tempted to try it, but I have an interview in an hour. Will be a good way to wind down after I think :D

Very stoked.

OK IMHO-

The hands free is a big PITA. I'll use two hands.

The Vapor Tamer is "cool" but not for me long term. The standard whip and mouthpiece works great and the vapor is cool enough. Also, I think the VT is weeping glycerin.

So if I had it to do all over again, I'd just order the basic SSV. IMHO

First Thoughts:

I didn't have much to use, so I filled up the first quarter "whip" with some leftovers from my MFLB last night, then packed another 1/4 whip fresh herb on top of that.

Got some nice big clouds early on. I cranked it up on high, then back to around the 12 position. Got pleasantly ripped after about 3-4 hit. Went outside, played with dog. Came back in and got a solid 1-2 more. Then I was stupid and turned it up high and combusted by accident because I was paranoid it wasn't getting got enough :ko:

Alcohol bathed and rinsed everything off. Going to give it another work out today, but have to say I'm really impressed coming from my first vape in the MFLB. Totally different level.

Anyone use their SSV for evaporating tinctures or purging? Think I am gonna pick up one and try to set my tincture on the aroma top.

^^looks like the older aroma tops are on close out for 6$. i might have to grab one as well.

I noiticed the same thing, my thoughts exactly
