Hey everyone, this dude wants to sell me one but its missing the oven lid which he said I need to buy and a charger, is there any way that he could be trying to rip me off? I don't want to buy it unless I know it works, he said you can press the button in and it will flash red so I know it still works but still couldn't something else be wrong? Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure you need a receipt or email confirmation to use the warranty... I wouldn't pay over $100 without it...

The warranty clearly states they do not cover battery "degradation". Of course this does not apply to a new unit, like the ones you were having problems with. This has also been covered a few times in the past - before you arrived to the thread.

Yeah, my new pax just wasn't up to par to my old pax that i sent in because it was defective. A little less battery life on my new replacement pax was more of a pain that something another warranty would cover. That's when i decided to upgrade myself to my new NCR18650B and solder that baby in.

Here's my update after about 7-8 consecutive red blinking light drains and full charges:

This new 3400 mah battery gets at about 75-90% more battery life than my old battery, clocking in at a full 11 sessions on orange today before it died. That's up from around 6 with my old battery on orange. Today it was my 5th pack when the battery meter finally went to yellow!

I think ploom should let people upgrade to this battery asap!! Its amazingly strong! In years of using batteries i've never seen such power crammed into the space of one AA battery.

My 2 cents

I have the Panasonic 18650a in mine, do you know what the difference is?

Yes, the NCR18650A that you have is rated at 3100mah, while the NCR18650B is rated at 3400mah. The B is the newest they offer. Both have top of the line power though, and the difference between them is only about 10% capacity.

Ok thanks, I thought I read somewhere the voltage was different. The world of rechargeable batteries is pretty confusing these days......

all good in the hood.
ordered one from vapeworld, and as it turns out, I should have ordered direct. I had ordered screens directly from the company and they arrived in two days.

the device itself, it taking over a week.

live and learn. I am interested in seeing how this one works.

Maybe a DUMB question, but... Just got my Pax. Popped the 'screen' out, and it doesn't seem to be a screen at all. One side has a diamond pattern with dots; the other side is completely smooth, shiny metal. Holding it up to a lightbulb, I see no openings through it at all. Is this normal, or did I get a defective screen?

You do not need this. I purchased mine in a local shop and got no receipt. I had no problem getting a replacement one, however the first time they did ask if I purchased through Ploom.

The screen does not have holes in it, which is y you see no openings. They address this in the Ploom FAQ

BTW, just checked and the Ploom site says it doesn't have holes, so it may be OK. But I also saw pics of replacement screens online where you can see through holes. Is the "holey" screen an older design? Please verify before I load it up! Thx!!

Thx! Confused about the 'see-thru' screen pics I saw online, but I'm good to go! :D

The edges of the screen are scalloped and the vapor flows through the tiny gaps between the screen and the oven wall.

The screen isn't supposed to have holes. If you saw pics that looked like they had holes then either that was an illusion or they weren't screens from Ploom.

So my Pax has been flashing the blue light every time I try to turn it on. I can get it to work normally after about 5 times of turning it on, getting flashing blue lights, and it turning itself off.

I'm somewhat hesitant to send it in because it still works but is this a sign that its going bad?

Was there ever a consensus what flashing blue lights mean? Temp sensor problem?

I believe flashing blue was some kind of electronic problem and the flashing orange means a temp/heater problem.

But yeah, flashing anything (except battery status & party mode) means it's probably only going to get worse :(

I had the flashing blue light issue. It was an internal problem and needed to be replaced . Ploom said it was a thermistor .

Stumbled on this forum and somehow convinced myself into buying a pax, not cheap when you have it shipped to Canada. Hope it's worth it! I have had my airizer for a good couple years now.

does anyone know why ploom doesn't allow distributors to sell these to europe?! actually it's not possible to get this thing over here which is a shame, because i just heared good things about it.

How can you tell which battery is inside? I also looked for how to take the Pax apart and didn't find anything, so if that's necessary a link to disassembly would be most welcome!

(P.S. First day out and a friend dropped the Pax to the sidewalk--mouthpiece and lid fell off, no real damage apart from a dumped oven! He added 2 stripes of friction tape to it, which is kinda cool in a utilitarian way.)

P.P.S. Thx to whoever suggested the Pax accessory (pipe cleaners, wipes) ziplock for a storage bag. It fits perfectly and does contain the odors pretty well!

they've answered me and told me it's a warranty problem, because they can't handle with warranty claims oversea right now. if someone is interested in that information, as well
