Is YouTube working for you?

I can't get any youtube videos to play. The site itself seems to work, but no videos will load for me.

Is anyone else having this problem today? Or is it just me?

I wonder if they're getting hit by all those cyber attacks going around....

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Adobe Flash had a recent update to 3.3.6.0 if that makes a diff....

Youtube gave me a problem also. It told me my browser didn't support the YouTube HTML5 Video Player, which is under test now, and it gave me an option to opt out or download an extension to use it. Once I opted out, everything went back to normal . . .

When I spotted this thread I thought that might be the problem, but having read the description I don't think that's it. I use Opera and Firefox mostly, and neither of them will work with the current Youtube HTML5 trial. Why these browsers get automatically added to the trial when they know they won't work baffles me, but that's what happened to me. Both IE9 and IE10 should work, however, so I think Stu has a different problem.

I ended up running some malware scans in safe mode last night and came up with diddly squat. Youtube ended up working later in the evening, albeit very slowly. I'm still not sure what the problem was/is. Several websites were giving me timeout errors, and my webcam software was in "auto launch" mode (it kept launching itself and I kept closing it). At some point I was convinced that Kim Jong Un himself had personally taken control of my pc and was using it as a bot to destroy the internet. I put some duct tape over my webcam at that point. :tinfoil:

That's legitimate paranoia, Stu. Read this article and some of the links: Meet the men who spy on women through their webcams.

Gah! Wasn't finished, posted too quickly.

Some of this stuff is difficult and even impossible to detect with malware scans. My advice to you is to abandon IE immediately and use Opera or Firefox or Chrome. IE has improved but it's still one of the primary targets for attacks. Outlook/Outlook Express are also popular vectors for malware and exploits. Microsoft's record in producing safe software is awful.

Interesting article, Pak. I suppose if someone was spying on me using a remote administration tool (RAT) they were sorely disappointed.

I did put my clothes back on after a while to be safe, much to the relief (I'm sure) of my stalker.

I'm going to be installing Firefox right away to keep away evil dictators, pervert stalkers (I'm lookin' at you, Dorkus) and Bill Gates.

I prefer Opera but I use Firefox for a bunch of things too. The thing you need to know about FF is that it depends on plugins for a lot of functionality. If there is something you think it should do but it doesn't, search for a plugin.

Look man I swear I only did it once.
But once i got an eyeful of you mincing about in that lacy little number i bought your missus one time when you was out of town..................

Well lets just say that was one of the best anti-malware/ anti-pervert defences ever.

You should market that shit, but perhaps you should shave your ass. Not sure if that takes away from the whole effect you were looking for?

Remember when I had no internet? Well TBH after your little performance I couldnt even turn on the PC anymore without feeling dirty. In the end I just threw it away& bought a new one, no amount of scrubbing could make the filth go away.

Your wife & I both agree that you should keep the outfit.
We dont want it now.

Oh,kim jong un reckons your ass is great just the way it is.
