Almost there...
My little bit of poking around the internet is just scratching the surface.

I am sure Andy has more in depth stuff that will put us all at ease.

I was #187 and received my Nano yesterday. So far this thing is awesome! Thanks Andy!

Awe Man hopefully the FEDEX guy will be ringing my bell soon as well.
Seeing as I am order #190, I am certainly hoping to get it today or tomorrow,

But in other news! I got a confirmation that my nano will be back in my hands soon. Turns out mine was running too hot. So now I have new wood and my nano got a check up as well! So excited to have this bad boy back. I miss him so much..

Andy e-mailed back with some reassuring info (pretty much what people have been getting at here) and also said 'I am looking into an all stainless alternative and if there is enough interest I will make it in the next month or two. It will probably be an extra $25.'
Although I'm fairly reassured regarding the aluminium I think I will go for the stainless as long as it's not too long a wait.

Could you post what he mentioned?

Also, I wonder if one could send the 'Nano back eventually and change it to all-SS if he or she ends up being unsatisfied with aluminum...

I will go on record now as showing interest in the all-SS alternative!

I hope he doesn't mind me posting the rest of the e-mail here.
'I posted some articles that should alleviate your fears about aluminum, but if it is still an issue for you let me know asap as I was going to ship your unit today. The part that covers the heater is stainless steel. The part that protects the wood is aluminum. It only get up to 250f max at max temp. at regular temp. it gets about 200F so it's really not an issue as it's not even close to the temps that aluminum cookware achieves.'

If I do make a stainless steel model, and that's a big if. It will be at least 1-2 months away.
Current Nano owners will be eligible to trade in for $25 +$5 (shipping)= $30 if they desire.

Anyone have any tips on how to get a good cloud from this device? Granted I've only used a log vape twice now, but I can't seem to get more than whisps at lower 5-6 setting, and around 7 it tastes near combustion. I picked up the DBV learning curve quite easily.. I thought logs were supposed to be easier?

Maybe you're not inhaling hard enough? I certainly have no problems blowing clouds at 5/6 and lower.

Here goes with some impressions.

I received a walnut Nano on Thursday and have had a chance to play with it a bit. In appearance, the Nano looks like many of the other log vapes and it does have similarities but is a different kind of beast. I have an AZ, PD, CRZ, UD, and HI. I really appreciate the style of vape.

The use of the nano is similar to the other log vapes in general use and flexibility of stems and adapters. The Nano is compatible with the UD & HI stems. The similarities kind of end there. It is not fair to compare any further due to the AC heating element coupled with integrated volt/heat control on the Nano. Cold start to full vape potential is literally 2-3 minutes. (My definition of full vape potential is when the vape doesn't benefit from any further heat up time.)

I am not much of a direct draw vaporist but I think the Nano will definitely do the trick here, especially in the 5-6 range on the dial. I received two stems, an all glass one and one with a screen. The tip of the all glass stem goes around the outside of the heatport and has a ridge that stops insertion and keeps a consistent distance. Very slick! The stem with a screen mates up the the heatport in a very similar fashion to the “glass nipple” that Alan makes for the HI stems. It is slightly rounded on the end and the glass mates up with the end of the heatport. It takes a little steadier hand to hold it in place but adds flexibility for mixing in air to preference.

A GONG adapter is on its way, can't wait! My favorite way to use a vape is with a water tool. This is where the Nano totally exceeds expectations for me. I rigged up a piece of silicone on the end of the stem with the screen and it mates with a 14.4 reducer. So far I have fogged out everything from an ion matrix to a 3 foot PHX Trinity prototype. (No other vape I have tried has ever milked the Trinity like the Nano although it destroyed an entire ~.2g load in one hit.) The airflow and consistent heat blast are hard to describe. I can inhale as fast as I want and the heat keeps up when I have the dial at about 8. Zero recovery time between hits. A lower setting is better for slower draws. I haven't combusted with the Nano but I have blackened a couple of loads. Once I figured out temp & technique, the roast is as even as I have ever seen from low temp to high temp. No visible unevenness in color. Kind of wonder why I keep stirring when it probably isn't needed.

I see absolutely no need (in my case) to ever leave the Nano powered up except when in use which is a serious standout. The fit & finish is great. IMO, Andy has combined some of the best vape features in a way that really works.

Only complaint is that I wish the heat/voltage control part was about 18 inches from the plug instead of about 18 inches from the body as it is now. This would make keep the heat/voltage control from hanging in mid air while I am ripping my glass.

The above was a mini-review. Here is the full one:

Giant vape in miniature form.

PS-Just read the posts about the aluminum outer ring. I just used it and had it at 8 on the dial for about 10 minutes. When I turned it off I ran my finger around the inside of the ring. It was slightly warm but not uncomfortable to touch. The wood only gets slightly warm. I guess the outer ring could reach 250F if the thing was left on full blast for hours? With the known properties of aluminum and using this vape, I am not concerned – especially the way I have been using it. (Only turned on when immediately vaping.)

Wallpaper- Kingofnull is on the right track. With glass I use it with the dial at 8 and rip away cloudstyle.

Really appreciate the responses Andy! Couldn't be happier. And I'm sure the e-mail notifying me that my Nano has been shipped didn't hurt either...
Should get here Wednesday or Thursday, can't wait! I'm order #213 if that helps anyone

Interesting, I'm 184 or something and mine hasn't shipped yet, maybe one of the accessories I ordered is backordered.

Here is the main difference between the E-Nano and all other 'Log' vapes. The Nano has triple the heating power (watts) and 4x the surface area to heat, hence 'more power' when you need it.
I would like to clarify this point as it was not my intent to mislead anybody.

A standard log vape uses a 5 watt resistor which is where I got my comparison from. 15w/5w=3x w.
I had a nice telephone conversation with Alan (TV) and he informed me the standard for 'log' style vapes is to use a 12volt power supply. At 12 volts the 5 watt resistor actually draws closer to 7.2 watts, so the Nano's 15 watt heater would be slightly more than 2x power. He also mentioned it is possible to 'overdrive' the 5 watt resistor by supplying a higher voltage (vwps) which would raise the wattage accordingly.
I hope this clears up any confusion.

Thanks for all this clarification Andy, glad you spoke with Alan and am sure you found him to be a great guy with alota knowledge and wisdom as I have. He has been very helpful to me!

Am also really glad to see more folks getting their hands on the Nano! Sure would like to see some more pics and videos though from all y'all!

Since I got the Gong piece from you I havent used it direct draw, really dig using it with water and like the clouds it provides.

Absolutely. Thanks for clearing that up Andy. Better coming from industry folk like you and Alan than from a third party.

I guess logs like CRZ operate at 5w stock?

kingofnull,
So my GonGs finally got here, no thanks to customs.

Andy, thanks for including a couple of Epik in there - I absolutely love this tool!

I noticed my new 18mm GonG is a lot cleaner than the last one. It's a bit harder to get a screen in, since there's no lip inside. But I think it'll provide a nice roast. My last GonG's central hole was bored at an angle, which resulted in dark spots.

Also got my 14mm all glass GonG. So looking forward to pacing it out tonight.

Sounds like I should have my Nano very soon. :D

Got an email from Andy that he has it ready to ship tomorrow if I want it naked or Thursday if I want rings and markings. Nude is ok with me so I let him know and now I wait. He sent the email late last night so I'm not sure if he meant it would ship today or tomorrow...I'm good either way. Just nice to see the foggy light at the end of the tunnel. :)

I'll post pics soon as I get it.

Hello FC crowd. I would like to start off by saying "hello". I am a long time lurker, and have bitten the bullet on registration. I am the owner of a silver surfer. I have been looking at either the nano or the ev2 to replace the surfer, as i would like something a little more stealth. I was curious...will the ev2 be much stronger than the nano?
