Why don't you try not to pack the bowl too much?
You could use the liquid pad, or just put less material so the vapor is less concentrated and less harsh.

Hehe, well... you know I have many combusters friends who say that vapo hurts their lungs and simply prefer to smoke.

ANYWAY, I can't do much when they say this, I guess they try to hard... and the vapor is harsh...when I used the Volcano in Amsterdam I was surprised on how harsh this hit is...(traveled with a solo)
But anyway...via water...hopefully she will like it better.

I think two factors contribute to harshness in the Volcano: the high air to vapor ratio and vaporizing at temps that might be too high. By design, the Volcano bags are going to have more air than whips or direct draw. I run the pump for a few seconds before attaching the bag. I've also found the bags to be less harsh at lower temps. I've been starting at 365f, then going up 10 degrees per bag and finishing at 395 or 405 f. I bet I could start even lower, though. Running through water helps too. With the easy valve i just press the valve against the downstem. Not a perfect seal though, so I'm thinking about one of those gong adapters.

How can you stir while filling a balloon?

Define heavy loaded chamber.

Stir between smaller balloons
Above .3

Smaller loads tends to cook more evenly, packing loose allows materials to move while being vaporized

A fairly fine grind also helps expose more surface area to the hot air passing through the chamber.

OK then I'm pretty sure he's using .3 max.

Anyhow...I will give you my thoughts on the adapter in just few weeks.

I use the solo stem as a guideline for the Volcano. One solo stem is enough to just coat the screen in the volcano chamber and should yield 4-5 bags

That just happened...
I got my gong adapter today from planet vape. It is a perfect fit into the easy valve. It works a lot better then pressing the valve against a glass joint. I recommend anyone with a easy valve to try it.

I've been using one of these connected to a length of tubing:

You can do it either way...I prefer placing the ground glass end into the easy valve and then jamming the tube into the downstem. I just find I get a better seal that way and it is easier to remove from the easy valve when done.

and i do the exact opposite, lol. i just wrap the tubing around the easy valve (a stretch to be sure. i just leave it on there) and you have a pump powered hit

lol I just get too stoned to be able to co-ordinate everything with that setup. Before I know it, I've got a tube flopping in my face, spitting out vapor everywhere  Not a fault of your system, as much as it is this particular user. :science:

i feel ya on that, it's why i wanted them to see the video. not for the conservative user for sure. easy as hell on the lungs tho, ;). the other adapter definitely is simpler and for only twice the price, lol

Bob, what size tubing are you using to attach to the easy valve chamber? Also, I have an Extreme Q and it seems like the ridged glass connectors from the EQ might fit well in the easy valve bags and provide a pretty good seal. Thoughts?

i can't help ya w/ tubing size as my adapter came w/ said tubing, maybe tweek would know?
i don't have an extreme q, nor have i used so i can't say there, sorry. you can get said adapter or the ez valve adapter from planetvape.ca they are a friend to fc

As it turns out, this glass mouthpiece from the EQ mates very well with the easy valve. I attached some silicon tubing to the mouthpiece and a gong adapter to a 14 mm downstem. leakage seemed minimal and I was pleased with the results. Hitting through water makes a nice change of pace from bags, imo.

Howdy.

So the S-und-B Volcano is a heavy lifter for sure. A few things after a week or so with the thing. (Volcano helps me lose track of 'their' 'time')

1- For my use, these bags are a joke. I can see having a regular bag around for some uses, but I'm going to order a new solid valve and or get bigger bags. Make some giants.. Can't wait.

2- Need bubblers, going to keep searching on here for one I like and probably have one made locally.

a) need one to sip bags out of, like the zapbubbler type. Suggestions in design for typical bag using experience...like being on a floor upside down and stuff.probably going to cut that out for bubbs but yeah was just an example of functional advice about Vollvaping

b) need another one to use with a whip- pieces I'll have a better time finding on my own. Looking for something special and easy to pass around- maybe scientific looking too- but I won't hesitate to just leave it up to the discretion of my local glassblowing community together with my general idea of the thing.
b.1 - going to try and find a looooooooooooooong whip too
b.2 - am i going to not enjoy this as a whip vape? Seems a little odd, but I figure, maximization of jah exploration

post up pics or names of the goods!

3serieSensi dont waste your money buying a solid valve, just replace your easy bags with some larger ones and use that money for medication.
Although vapor with water is softer, in the cano water kills taste much more than on other vapes, maybe cause its air ratio. I suggest to drink a little water and then vaping, or making softer bags.

Word on not getting a solid valve. I reckon I will at some point, it must be advantageous somehow and somewhen. Nice to have a second chamber around too. Party vape, remember. :)

My bags are quite soft. I start a touch above 4, and maybe go up to 5 but usually keep it below the 5. Sometimes I turn it up as much as 6 or 6.5 but this carefully monitored (i.e., preheated) and is followed by turning it down before the bag is half filled.

I usually preheat the chamber on the grill for something like 10-20 seconds and maybe pulse some air too before I put the bag on. Leaving it on there is okay unless you have a moment of Total Recall 10 minutes later when you went to do that thing, real quick- and like., this other thing was what you're doing now and you have no idea about any other thing that might be nearly related to any preceeding and current things and things

I want the water option for hitting bags of a six level with ease. Now that seems a bit spicy.

Maybe I can try that right now and just take my time with the bag. I'll post back on that. Blue CHeez

Okay, yeah I'm cool with the chEz at 5.7 on the dial. Very nice.

An absurd statement factually and rhetorically. You might take a cue from the motto of FC -- "there is no best vaporizer"! But a Volcano, really? That's a joke! IMO it's the most passe, overpriced, 20th century relic in the vape world. Bags? You like bag, stinky stale goofy 4 hit bags? C'mon! I threw our my last Volcano with my 486 Gateway2000.

If you had kept you 'cano, would you not still have it around, alive and working, willing to serve? Course, you'd still have to put the fiddly new bag on it and all the rest. But I think it's worth it jsut to have one even if it only comes out once in a while.

In fact, I do see what you mean. But some people throw away or sell their old cars that others find quite high value in using daily. I prefer old BMWs and deal with their antiquity daily- it's rough.

I think anyone who is serious would have a few modes of vapor in their life :) Just ordered my one-piece-glass pocket vapes from vapolution- ordered them without the sticker so they should be sexy. Torch flavor ftw

I also shake the bowl in the middle of fillups if there is more than just a tiny amount in there.

It's very nice to have a volcano while you play video games. Like COD zombies. Speaking of zombies, have we all heard about Jordan Maxwell? He'll tell you about the zombies. Or Michael Tsarion if you want to hear about the real ancient and historical aliens.

I cannot wait for larger bags, this small bag stuff needs a large Zeppelin. I think I'm going to make a big one and hang it from the wall above spots where i"ll use the volcano...
