No stu..The glass isnt the problem..but its the most vunerable part of the wong. The silicone can get grimy and needs to be cleaned regularly...Thats whats holding it all together and needs tlc

I must be really dense.....:argh: because I still don't understand what replacing the glass would do. The glass can be cleaned with an iso soak. What am I missing here?

Ah, I get it now. In case of future breakage. Duh.

Sorry for the derail.

Edit: If you regularly change silicone pieces, the loose-fitting glass is not an issue.

I'm finding the oj gives it a good stick that holds it together perfectly for me. I had it falling into my downstem almost every time I used it. Now its quite snug.

EDIT: to be clear I also swabbed the inside of the tubing with it... swabbing the glass, putting it together, taking it apart and letting it dry for a minute should do the same thing.

IDK if I would use OJ.. unless you're also wiping it down every time you use it? Sounds like ant-bait.

I would think one or two of the tiny rubber bands (like the size they use for braces) wrapped around a couple of times would probably be enough tension to keep the silicone on there. Or even a larger band and you could wrap more.

There's got to be a way to make it tacky without also getting it dirty.

This is my first post on these forums... I just got my WonG adapter in and have been testing it out pretty heavily for the past week. I like it but have found 1 problem... the tubing often slips off, dropping the glass insert into my downstem.

Hey Arthur. Welcome to FC.

A simpler solution I found was to tie a rubber band around the silicone part, it provides enough grip to prevent slippage.

Edit: +1 that herb guy.

The silicone started slipping off for me after about two weeks of initial use. After that i just swapped in some new ones and they've been holding great ever since. i think the silicone with my WonGs now have been on there for ~3 weeks and they don't seem like they need a change for at least another 2+ weeks. also, my silicone tubing was provided by Dave about a year or so ago so maybe hes providing a different type of silicone now? all in all, just try changing the silicone every few weeks when you start to notice some slippage but if you don't like that it seems like these other guys have some solid tips.

edit: when i first got the WonGs i did play around with them quite a bit and think that the silicone might be loosening up because of that. Since i swapped in some new ones i stopped playing around with them so much and they've been holding better.

Need some help. Friend gave me a grocery bag of fresh clippings (everything from tiny buds to stems to fan leaves).

Thought about butter, but then started thinking about some sort of iso oil/hash. No experience with making anything but butter once or twice.

What is the easiest to make and best concentrate for use in the Dog? Of course, I don't want anything unhealthy or that is gonna gunk up the UD. Also, I've never used a concentrate in the dog before.

Any advice would be great.

ISO hash would probably be the easiest route. If you want to get fancy you can try BHO but that'll involve buying a few things most likely.

Plenty of 'how to's' and tricks in the concentrate section, better info than I could give anyway.

i've been using ISO hash made from my ABV with my UD. Although i'm a bit of a noob at the whole thing, i'm pretty happy with the results when paired with an UD and a water piece

Thanks! I'm gonna take a look at that section.

So, how are you actually using it? Put a gob in a small piece of cotton ball? Middle of cotton ball or on the surface?

Can you then eat the already-vaped iso hash? I guess you have to eat it with the cotton too?

Thanks!

I place a small glob on top of the cotton. i know other's put it in the middle of it but i prefer to rest it on top so its sitting between the cotton and the heat port of the UD to get the best hits.

Hmm not entirely sure about eating already-vaped ISO hash though. personally, after vaping it i will just put it in my ABV container to save for a future QWISO once my stores reach a reasonable amount.

Hey Dogs hows it going?

Been working pieces for the refresh off and on all weekend here, not that any of you care about stuff like that right? :brow:

Emails have been piling up for a day or two while I've been barricaded in the shop but I'll answer a few tonight and then dive in to the rest tomorrow so just hold tight. :peace:

Nice,Cant wait to see the new wood art..I know it sounds like Im being biased but Daves attention to detail on the shells is second to none..So many lines on such lovely grain , the curves and did I mention the angles? I have to say since getting my dog I have used the accessories pack every day! Everything is so handy.Im always in need of a stirring tool.I love little containers for my abv. I keep my glass stems and everything else in a small club nintendo pencil pouch..gotta love the small details and you get that and more with the dog..

just out of curiousity, how often do you Dogs use Underbutter on your UDs? i've been applying the Underbutter about once a week at this point. i always forget how much nicer it makes my UD feel after rubbing some on and letting it sit for a bit.

I've only "buttered mine up" maybe twice in the four months I've had it. I only think of it while using it and while using it I just want to... keep using it. The UD sure does have an extra lovely look and feel to it after a good "waxing" though.

Sounds like you've got a pretty intimate relationship with yours... ;)

Once a month or when needed. (My dog runs from about 6-10pm on weekdays and 8am-midnight on weekends). On my Tineo twig, I can actually see the wood near the top of the Dog getting lighter in color and drier, from the core heat. Once I see that, I'll put a thick coat of butter on and let it soak in for a couple hours. I have good results applying it with bare fingers/hands.

Broke my downstem last night :|. Though my glass stem is just long enough to work as a replacement until I can get a new one.

I wax n buff mine at least twice a week. She really loves it too. :). I normally put a fare amount on it as its hot. Let it sit acouple of hours or longer to absorb into the wood fibers. Let cool and buff the hell out it. Sorta like making love nice n slow at first, pull pour the coal to it. Heheh.
