MiniVAP Vaporizer

This is an older unit so I don't have the cone like Roger D does. It's just something I came up with while vaked.

Silicone ring is two 3/8ths inch tubing pieces cut into 1/4 inch tall "strips". One is placed on the outside of the other. These then go onto the outermost ring on the minivap cap. The glass adapter(14mm to 18mm expander) is then placed over the silicone.

And there you have it. A DIY glass connection for your minivap. :D

If you check out my post on page 26 you'll see I did almost the same thing! (I actually did the same thing, just I prefer the Volcano bag valve as the 18mm adapter mated with the 3/8" silicone than I did the silicone into the glass GonG connector ... just as inert and I'm not worried about the weight of it causing it to drop off and break). The silicone doubled alone (with a 3rd ring for conical shape) makes a perfect 14mm adapter!

Officially over-medicated,its crazy how unrestricted the airflow is using the 6 inch tubing with the straw tip.I ask myself,am I getting any vapors? because Im not getting any resistance..and yes yes you are:smug:
Its a smooth operator...
Couple of questions for the mv community,Will my unit be damaged if i charge battery with top attached? Is it harmful to not fully drain the battery? I like to keep my battery topped off.Is it ok to store unit warm? Where do you put your unit (hot)?:dog: Like back in the mvcase or a microfiber bag?My unit gets pretty warm not hott I assume thats normal the battery is always cool it seems.

Try to connect a glass and you will give new meanings to overmedicating :D
-I charge it like that everytime, I don't think it can cause any damage as you can see it in many official pictures and videos. I think someone earlier in the thread said (Roger) that pulling while on battery and while charging can damage the unit. Right Roger?
-I've been said many times that with todays batteries it's not a problem at all to top up and don't achieve full discharge. Actually I've been told it's good for modern batteries not to deplete it completely as you do. I do that as well. I also charge it while hot. But if it's pretty hot I take the top part out and charge the battery only. Not because I'm concerned but because while medicated I have cold sometimes and I keep the top in my hands :D
-I'm not concerned about the unit being hot. Only the chamber is hot, the battery is not affected I think.

Alright, pulled the trigger from the manufacturer's website at their $519.00 launch price. NBA, did you receive the 2013 unit and how do you know?

hard to say...minivap seems to be picking up steam! what color you get? can't wait to hear your thoughts :-)

Someone earlier on the thread said only some new firmware version with little improvements and changes about heating times, temperatures and such.

Very happy to return to the office and find the miniVAP waiting for me on my desk. As I was the first one in the office this morning, I thought I would take a couple of cheeky tokes. Very nice flavor and dense vapor which left me a little bit over medicated for a Tuesday morning in the office.

I'm looking forward to getting stuck in with more testing. I'll report after spending a bit of quality time with the unit.

When in standby mode my mv flashes blue. So I depress the either button and the mv goes to the default lowest temp setting. Depress once and its still flashing blue then goes solid blue. Maybe its a firmware issue? I did notice that when coming off of standby the mv does heat up faster in maybe 3 mins vs 5...I really cant see myself sending my mv back unless I have to. the thing works so well. Ive been getting higher and consuming less, because Im using less .Still havent been able to finish a bowl in 1 session...I unplugged my underdog(i feel bad about it too:ugh: ) and put away my mini hydrator for now..Im just getting too damn high..minivap rocks!
@ Hoops, S4L posted earlier that the older mv had an oring that connected the straw. The newer units do not.Supposed to make a better seal.

We are two.. It pushed me on getting a full backup kit.. Soon !
I had to send it once and the volcano couldn't really do the trick when I was waiting for it to return. Sleepless nights and no solid medication for almost two weeks.. I don't wanna go trough that again.

Don't worry about theses firmware issues, the behavior seems normal. It is a really complex system. A hard reset almost always solve the thing if you get really stuck

1st puff of the day.. Aroma heaven

Still havent been able to finish a bowl in 1 session...I unplugged my underdog(i feel bad about it too:ugh: ) and put away my mini hydrator for now..Im just getting too damn high..minivap rocks!

Lol, with the MV it can become some kind of exotic mission to get thru a bowl.. Must reach.. Must move. ARRrr
Sometimes I take one or two puffs and completely forget about the vaporizer for like one or two hours

what a beautiful machine. Huge tasty clouds with no effort. This thing hits like a cannon. It is going to take a bit of time to get used to this. It is very easy to over medicate, which isn't always a bad thing. :D

Quick question for anyone who ordered from Spain. Does the $519 package include the power adapter for use of the MV without battery as well as the battery itself? Curious, because if I order them separately, I can get the non-bat version at $409 and then just add the battery on for an additional $109, which puts me at the same price and confirms I'll receive everything I need for portable and plug in use.

Already ordered the full package, but I'm checking with MV on the above detail....figured I may get a quicker answer here.

You forgot about the dock for charging the battery

Good idea Hoops. Man I should have thought of that.Because I sure only received the lithium ion portable battery. No power adapter...Eh,Oh well live and learn.not that I saw myself using the ac adapter, not a big deal. But thanx for bringing that up for future buyers

@RogerD How do you hard reset the unit?

Good catch.

hmmmm...So remove the battery from the equation and the difference between the two packages (battery and without) comes down to the power adapter or the charging base. (Edit: MV replied and said the carrying case for the plug in version package was smaller. The rest is correct.)

Charging base - $65.00
Power adapter - $98.00

Based on the price difference of the parts in question, the base model without the battery is the better deal at $409. Add the battery to bring it to $519 then add the base charger for an additional $65 brings the grand total to $584.

Do it the other way and the exact same package will cost you $617. ($519.00 plus the cost of the power adapter $98)

Not a big difference, but food for thought.

Good idea Hoops

Thanks, but Roger is right, I'd still need to buy the charging base.

Sorry what do you mean with standby mode?

I mean that after the mv is warmed up for more than 10 minutes without being used, it goes into stanby mode. That means the unit is idle. When in standby mode the unit flashes blue. By pressing either button it should go back to whatever temp it was at previously. But with my mv it goes straight to flashing blue , the lowest temp setting. And it starts the warm up all over again, until it reaches solid blue.but it seems to warm up in 3 minutes versus 5.Roger suggested I hard reset it, just removing battery while its on. But nope that didnt help..

It's normal, as it is already warm. Hard reset is useful when the system doesn't respond

I get that feeling too. Since the performance never suffers. And the heat up times decrease, its all good.
