Vaping to fall back asleep

Im the type of person who has a lot of difficulty getting back to sleep if something has woken me up in the early morning even if I have only gotten 4-5 hours, i recently found that vaping at a low temp helps tremendously to get back to sleep, however i wake up it takes a while till I actually feel "awake"

i wanna hear your experiences or if any one else has this problem and found another solution.

Also I'm curious what people's opinions are on vaping after brushing your teeth before sleeping? I try not to do it but occasionally i need more meds right up until pass out how, bad Is this bad for my mouth?

I have trouble getting to sleep at night. I'll toss and turn all night long and never used to sleep well. Smoking just before bed helped a little but not enough and sometimes would wake me up even more. I refuse to use pharmaceuticals(ambien, etc)to sleep and I've tried countless home remedies. Since I started using a vape before bed I sleep like a rock!

When I want a good deep sleep I to a couple big old hits right before I lay down. These hits I run hotter than normal,it gives a nice indica type effect.
Have yo tried edibles right before bed? It comes on slow but brings me that body buzz that keeps me sound asleep.
Or you could go the heroin route. But I don't recommend that as it always end badly.
I do hope you get something figured out, insomnia sucks!

I find I can't sleep when I end up eating to much too late at night because of munchies. But I also wake up really groggy if I vape right before bed, or especially if I did during the night. I think it is best to vape an hour or so before bed to not get dry mouth or wake up craving more vapor. Even though vaping and going right to sleep feels great at the time I know it's not good for my body somehow because I wake up super "tired" and feeling really hungry. Could be something else but that's my input if it helps.

I admit that kind of surprises me, since the higher temp range is usually reported as providing more of the sleep effect. If I'm nodding off too early for my bedtime, I'll often wake myself up by loading a fresh bowl.

If you mean after you've taken that 'get back to sleep' hit, it's likely because you're still a little high when you get up.

You'll probably get a little vapor stain on your teeth. Shouldn't be a big deal.

I often have trouble sleeping, which is a big problem since a lack of sleep can really throw my health issues out of whack. I find that if I load up my volcano with duff and vape it on high, it knocks me right out. Tastes horrible and you will need to water filter, but it's like a hit to the head with the sleep hammer.

I'd suggest tincture. I think edibles work great for knocking me out, but take too long if i need it to go right back to sleep. A tinc does about the same, but effects me in seconds. This works even better with a tincture made with ABV, that shit'll knock me out for half a day.

Insomnia is one of the conditions I'm using MMJ for. I've had "issues" with sleep for almost ten years now - sleepless with horrible night sweats.

I have found the best results from doing a "triple" dosing - I will eat some ABV coconut butter I've made, have a (small) dose of a medicated chocolate bar (1/4th of a 1/4 gram bubble hash bar - "Chocolates by Scotty"), and then vape some serious knock-out herb, right now it's Romulan & Afgoo.

Some nights I will vape in the middle of the night (as long as it is before 2 am, or not a work night) if I've woken up.

On the bright side, my recommending doctor is a ND, and I'm going in for tests tomorrow for my hormone levels, and my micronutrient/lipids profiles. We might have to add something else to the mix to stabilize things.

I normally wake up "fine"... no hang over, no scuzz on the teeth, and generally rested enough to get through my day.

I have been dealing with this routine for years now. I do know that irregular sleep patterns can weigh on a person after a while. In most situations, I can sit here and vape on med temps (HI set to 12.1v, cloud set to noon etc...) and not go back to sleep for hours, but will eventually get tired in the early evening, usually around 5pm I will need to power down for a bit, maybe take a nap for an hour or so. Then I will likely wake up groggy for the evening. It's become a pattern that I deal with. Needless to say, I don't work a regular work week anymore. Unfortunately, right now I have limited access to a variety of herbs. I have one strain that seems to help my pain issues with out making me too wiggy (some kind of berry kush cross), and recently discovered that some sativa strains actually amp me up and can make me a little too edgy and weird, anxiety ridden. So I have backed off using sativa unless I am very careful not to take too much in. I might take a hit or two of sativa for a pick me up. I am actively seeking a better or stronger indica strain to help me with the wee hour wake up. Sometimes I can get back to sleep for a bit if I can vape a few hits of a strong indica, and I also agree the higher temps will hit you much harder, and give you more of a full spectrum of cannabanoids. When I am stuck with only one strain for a length of time, I will use temp to create the variation so the late night higher temp vaping makes me feel more tired, and day use, I try to keep it in the lower-med temp range so I don't get too blasted as my day goes by. I have also been turning down pills, used to use Soma to help me relax and sleep, and that was creating it's own issues too, so I have gotten to the point that most medications just don't work too well for me anymore, they tend to just make me feel sick. Pain pills esp. don't work for me anymore. I can not handle the opiates on any kind of regular basis. I sure hope we can get this legalizing thing over with soon, as cannabis seems to be my cure all, and I don't want to resort to other alternatives unless it is absolutely necessary. Sorry pill doctors.

Lets not forget about wand hash neither that stuff is better then ambien. If i vape some wand hash on some herb at high temps its KO in about an hr or two. I also second the abv tincture suggestion too that stuff could be used as elephant tranquilizers i stay away from ABV unless its sunday and i need a nap

If I could I would sleep with a vape under my pillow ready to go!

I have been an insomniac for years - I find getting in the ring with the cloud stuffed with a kief bomb has an effect on me similar to anesthesia! If I get up in the middle of the night and cant sleep I tend to hit a quick session on the solo and that will help - I wake up with the munchies! :mmmm:

I might be way off here..But if you are awake during the night maybe you should check at which times these usually are. I believe in the body clock, which means every organ has it's own time for repair.

Again guys, i just really want to help. It sucks to have bad nights!

Edit: If for example you notice that you are awake between 1:00 and 3:00 am, this might be a sign you need a liver detox.

I agree, vape just helps me GET to sleep.

When I lie down to go to sleep sober and my body starts to relax, my mind goes absolutely insane I'll just lie in bed thinking about anything. I'll start thinking about a new workout regiment, the essay I have due in 4 weeks, the next MMA fights, etc.

Vaping will just knock me out till the morning and I love it. I think it's a good solution for you as well.

If you own a log vape or a SSV, probably keeping it on next to your bed isn't a bad idea so you canjust take a quick hit.

I have to be completely exhausted to fall asleep sober. Sometimes vaping a bowl doesn't work and I'll break out my glass one-hitter to get some needed rest; combusting almost always puts me to sleep. My mind starts to race whenever I let my body relax unless I'm high. I've always had trouble falling asleep.

I often experience a falling sensation in my head as I begin to go to sleep. Its like I start to free fall as I slip away into sleep. It never fails to make me jump up and check to see if I'm really falling or not. It always seems to happen right as I lose consciousness. I'll get frustrated after the second or third time this happens in a given night, then sleep is out of the question for at least a few more hours.

I have to say the Solo has been a wee-hour companion for me a bunch of times, until I got a log vape, now that sucker is on 24/7 so I don't have to wait for warm up anymore.
Jam,have you considered that you may be at least part vampire? If so you may need to Vape human blood to get some sleep.
Just kidding sister, just kidding. You're on the right track with the sativa vs. indica thing. I've found that true Blueberry will almost always do the trick,no matter how stressed I am. If I could send you a nug via Email I would,I know how bad insomnia can be and how it affects every aspect of your life.
Good luck in your search for some relief, and don't forget you have A LOT of friends who wish you well!

On nights where I need to fall asleep, I am really enjoying this stuff. Sleepytime Extra
I typically vape in addition to it but don't know if that's even necessary.

Unlike regular sleepytime, this version has Valerian Root

Maybe I'm a true insomniac but I double dose this stuff and squeeze the hell out of both tea bags! Unfortunately, I stay wide awake most of the night like usual. Vaping is the only method that puts me to bed and I wake refreshed! Nevertheless, I drink that tea just because it's delicious!!!

I've been vaping to get to/back to sleep for ages now. It's kind of bad because I actually think I may wake up because I look forward to it now. Does the trick though, as i have a volcano and always vape on 9. I've been experimenting with ABV capsules for better sleep lately.

I've tried straight strong valerian and it doesn't make me sleepy. Vaping indica on higher temps and edibles sure do.
