Discontinued Inhalater XP

Just a few words to say that my XP (first PV batch) still works incredibly fine despite it's temp dial been loose. I have to find time to go at Pharmacor to fix the problem...It IS an exceptional vaporizer! I used mine the first time right out of the box and never had off gasing problem or weird smells. Never.

It's hard to believe that so many XP are DOA or malfunctioning. But i do believe that Pharmacor are handling the situation right. They don't seem to hide any info regarding the XP's known problems, even the one they don't understand yet,and that's something i find honorable.

Given the Inhalater and Pharmacor reputation,i'm ready to be forgiving. The XP is simply exceptional and my hopes are high for the INH005.

well it appears that Taylor shipped mine with a "signature required" shipping method and USPS would not leave it on my porch.

all excited to get home only to find a delivery attempt notice in my mailbox... uhhggg

looks like ill be picking it up tomorrow.

I've been having the same problem with the off gassing. I've been running a burn cycle for over 30 minutes now, and I still get off-gassing. =(

togepi258,
I'm surprised Greg didn't mention this in his post yesterday, but I was told today that production has been halted for three weeks on the device. I'm going to change the pre-order date on my website when I have a chance. Due to the previous issues we've had with timelines on releases, I'm contemplating ending pre-orders until I've received more promising news.

Sincerely,
Taylor

Kush Paradise picked mine up and shipped it out today... Glad I made the cut haha.

As far as this burn in issue goes, what temp should we put it on? Seeing as how inhalator themselves said earlier a burnin might cause it to overheat I assume we should have it on something low? But fuck off-gassing sucks :/

Well that seems better than coming home and learning that your vaporizer was stolen from your front porch lol!

Been an hour now, this thing is still just gassing away. Starting to get worried =(

I really think it's possible you guys are overheating the devices. I've tested dozens of these things and have never seen anything that could be attributed to burning electronics, or basically anything at all besides vaporized moisture that was trapped within the device. If you feel the need to return the device, please contact me directly.

Thanks,
Taylor

Well, it started doing this immediately on the first burn. Is it wrong to have it at the highest temperature? I assumed that was okay, since it is a setting on the unit.

Inhalater mentioned earlier in the thread that running it empty could cause problems with the temperature regulation, and can cause the device to overheat. Your vaporizing medium will also increase in heat as the device warms up, and from what I understood, leaving the chamber empty causes the device to continue heating past where it should have shut off. I would imagine that running on full temp would only intensify matters.

Taylor

I just switched to a different capsule, and it isn't emitting the gases or the smell. I think the pro longed high temperature may be causing the plastic in the mouthpiece to do this.

They need to tell us how to burn off machine oils when we get it and the temp then. They did say put in an empty capsule but no further instructions. We also need to know how to burn off resins after using it for a while. Cleaning it with iso only does not do the trick.

Yeah, I mentioned before that the delrin (black plastic on the mouthpieces) might be the issue. Under normal operation, the delrin wouldn't reach temperatures high enough to cause any degradation. However if the unit is operating outside of its intended temperature range, I believe you could see problems. I believe the delrin parts on the device have the lowest thermal resistance properties compared to the other parts, and these would be the first to experience degradation under high heat.

I wonder if filling the capsule with cotton would prevent the device from overheating during a burn off... Thoughts folks?

Taylor

I just received my second replacement today. I'm not happy. It still smell like burnt plastic. I have not loaded it with herb and when I turn it on, you can see wisps of vapor off gassing. I feel like this may be a health risk inhaling this vapor. The video shown below is after 6 burn cycles. My first XP did the same thing and was not used.

That's certainly no good. I've burned in all 3 of my units extensively and never seen anything like that.......

I never burned mine in with the capsule in place though.

Jees, I hope I didnt overheat mine. I have been running mine on about 5 for about 45 minutes now because I kept smelling something weird, kinda like a burned plastic come out of it.

You were probably burning the plastic :(
I'm not so sure about that though. The smell that was coming out of it, was the same exact smell that came out of it basically the first 10 seconds I ever turned the thing on. So, Ill test it out and see how she works.
Any ideas and how much damage could have been done to it if indeed I burned some plastic?

Bronzs,
Hey guys, recieved my XP earlier today, big thumbs up to Taylor since I wasn't expecting to recieve a unit until next week. When I first opened it, I smelt the chamber without the capsule inserted and while being off. I got a faint plasticy smell and when I first turned on the unit, it gave off the off gassing. My first 2 capsules had the plastic taste, from there on more of the herb taste came on. I just tried a new capsule and there was no off gassing. However, I did ordered an extra capsule and on this one the plastic was slightly longer and didnt allow the capsule to be fully inserted into the unit. Will be contacting Taylor on that.

Other than that this little thing is amazing, I am in love. I feel like its a mini Cloud lol. I love the smooth and thick vapor that the XP produces. I also like the charging plug, I have so many of these plugs including those portable chargers for cellphones so thats a big plus. I have finally found a great portable for the time being :-)

Good news everyone, I got a good working XP...so far at least.

Man, this little things is amazing. Hit so good and easy, I am able to pull huge clouds with ease. @Sonic, I dont know how you were hitting that thing at a 9 on the video. When I had a cap filled with fresh herb, I started off at 3, and it was too much for me, and I had to move it down to 1, which was plenty powerful for me. Although eventually when the herb got more cooked and moved it up gradually, finishing at a 6. I have only vaped one capsule, so maybe that is why, but this thing can be really harsh sometimes. Like so harsh on me throat after a while, that water wasnt good enough, I had to go get a huge glass of orange juice. Now I dont know if this is still cause some of the factory stuff is burning off or what but it was decently harsh on the back of my throat. Do note though, this is basically my first portable. I have tried a G-pen a few times but that was pretty lame. I have found it is a bit more enjoyable if you wait a little bit between hits, this way the vapor isnt quite so hot.

Overall though this thing is amazing. Looks great. Hits great. Convenient. Stealthy. Also looks like it will be fairly easy to clean

Any tips on using this thing and cleaning and maintaining it?

I had two vapes I actually used before the INH but I quit combusting with the INH. I had huge throat issues for a long time. I don't really know why but now it is much better. I would say, this is a guess, that it took about a month after stopping combustion to be ok with the throat stuff. I do use a long air path a lot now but I can hit it right off the mouth piece and be ok with that albeit still a little harsh.

I was brave last night and tried using my off gassing unit. I had a sore throat after and still today.

Taylor,
If cotton is used in the capsule, I think the cotton would block the off gassing from being released through the mouthpiece.

A message to PV if you're reading this: I did not cancel because of the wait. I was fine with waiting, I knew I would have to from the beginning. I canceled because of horrible communication. When I bought my vape it said on site there would be a 3 week wait. A month went by and nothing happened. I then tried to get in contact multiple times, and no one was around to help out because your site was down. Yes, this may of been a 'scheduled' downtime, but that is no excuse. You chose the time to go down. You chose to go down right after a brand new vape was put up to buy. That was a horrible decision. You should've waited until the rush for the Inhalator was over. But fine, one bad decision. Lets keep going. Sure, why not. I was finally contacted and told it would be shipped out that week. Ok sweet. That week goes by, nothing happens. I message them on site and I call them, and I get two differing times. Ok... Then I finally get an email, saying on the 19th they will be getting more shipments.
PV is great, I don't see how you can put much blame on them besides the poor communication some people have had.

They have to wait for Pharmacor to ship them the INHs, they got a batch of 35 for the first pre-orders, and were told when the next ones would be in. Pharmacor found flaws in the units and probably told PV they were making modifications so the order would be pushed back.

It seems Pharmacor has an odd business model. Walk-ins seem to get priority service over companies with big orders.
Hi TheCookieKing,
Sorry for the poor communication you received, we are always trying to improve which is what our system upgrades were all about. System upgrades are carefully planned months in advance. We decided this year to minimize downtime, that we would schedule it during trade show week of Spannabis, BIG and Champs... all days apart. The communications down time was announced weeks before as well as auto response to all emails.
The Inhalater XP was first scheduled to be released before Christmas, so our planned downtime of Feb 12 gave us lots of time after the release for customer support. As we all know the XP didn't get released until Feb 11 giving us less than a day to ship out all the pre-orders. We got caught out when our email server went off line for the upgrades before all the XP shipping emails could be sent, we have already posted and discussed this prior.
The shipping dates we post are given to us by Inhalater, we contact them on a continual basis to check on the progress of our order and ship date and when they have delays they let us know the new expected ship date which we then post on our site.

PAZ is correct, Pharmacor was allowing some small orders to jump the queue ahead of larger orders, but we have been informed that has been corrected and all orders now wait in queue, large or small to be fair to everyone.

I'm surprised Greg didn't mention this in his post yesterday, but I was told today that production has been halted for three weeks on the device. Production is not exactly halted, at least not due to problems with the units. We were told that Pharmacor has run out of a key electronic component and the supplier of that component also has a backorder that will take a few weeks to straighten out.

Just remember that for every person who comes on here to say their unit broke there are probably 10 or more people out there like me with units that still work great. Many people will go online yo complain when something doesn't work as expected but far fewer numbers of people go online to let everyone know how happy they are.
This is for sure true, yes there have bee some problems as with any new model product, but Pharmacor is addressing any issues and being very upfront about the causes and solutions.

GOOD NEWS is our shipment has only been delayed a few days and we should have our shipment of the newest revision XPs very soon.

Peace and Love,
PV
