That's what I thought I said... He can use the LV Rev stem that he has now with a 17670 battery or send it to TET and for $10 plus return shipping they will rewire it for the standard 6v. That's exactly what a TET rep told me and that's exactly what I told S420S. Was my wording off?

Is 6v better? How do I know which I have? It says t1 on bottom for my rev.

Thinking about ordering extra batteries and are they all the same?

Can I find these exact batteries in store or only online?

If it uses two batteries (rcr123a, 3.o volts, tenergy, 750mah) then it is 6 volts (SV), if one battery (17670, 3.7 volts, AW, I think IMR) then it is 3.7 volts (LV). The LV says 'LV' on the bottom of the cart.


SV heats up much faster, LV has better battery life. If its the rcr123a's (SV) then you can find them on amazon and other sites. If it's the LV, then I am not sure, but someone else will likely be able to help you out there. Sorry, I just can't recall the specs of the battery.

You get to decide which is better. Opinions differ depending on the owner and his style. The supplies all say T1 on the bottom, to see which version cart you have look on the end of the button in the center of the threaded part. LV (3.7 Volts) say "LV", otherwise it's a SV (6 Volts).

The LV battery is the 17670, kind of a strange one:

Be careful with the RCR123As, there's a very similar one out there at 900 mAh you don't want, you want the 'inferior' 750 mAh version:

The charger needs to match, of course. Some, like the WF-188 will do both types.

No, in fact they 'underload' your core. They can't deliver the flat out power we need to make these guys sit up and take notice. Not sprinters as it were.

Actually some serious engineering and testing went into selecting those exact two types. They had search engines too, but by actual test those two are the best battery available for the job.....sorta as you might expect TV to do.

They are both recommended. Substitutions are not.

There's more to "better" than just the mAh rating. The 900mAh cell is not as suitable for our usage as the 600mAh cell.

In this case, the 900mAh cells can't supply the current that our DART/Revo cores draw while maintaining their voltage at the same level (as the 600mAh cells that are recommended do). And while they're rated at 900mAh, that's when tested at a current draw of less than a tenth of what our cores use. When tested with the loads we use, the 600mAh cell has a greater capacity than the 900mAh cell. Over in the Cera thread, we've been talking about the different 18650 cells that can be used in the new Cera, and which is "better". It turns out that the highest mAh rated cells being discussed there are also NOT the best choices for our use. (The 2900mAh and 2250mAh cells that TET supplies turn out to be much better than the 3100mAh and 3400mAh cells, when used in a Cera).

As to why anyone would make a higher rated cell that doesn't work as well, they do work longer in other applications that don't draw as much current as our application. In that case, by using the proper suitable cell, one can get almost 50% more life.

My mistake. I am mixing up applications (flashlights and vaporizers) and terminology (voltage and milliamp hours).

Basically, always use what is recommended.

It's the price we pay for the performance we want I guess? I have, I think, six pairs. Two of them in 'emergency reserve'.

Hey BC, I fully agree. I love the build quality of the Thermovape. It is a solid design thats is very well machined and built.

What kind of knife do you carry at work? I am a knife nut so I just ask because I have to. :D

Misono Swedish sujihiki 270mm (my own custom microbevel and patina).

Looking for a konosuke sujihiki white carbon :)

I have about 6-7 water stones at home.

You're talking about the cart body? Not only could you make one from steel if you were serious but I suspect you could iron plate over the nickle and oxidize that?

My experience with plating goes the other way (wanting to put the stuff that's tough over the stuff that oxidizes) but I think plating iron is about as easy as copper? Getting fancy grains structure in there would call for making a steel piece I think. I'm thinking a Damascus Twist here..... Like a short section of a bitty muzzle loading shotgun barrel?

We could make a body tube that costs as much as a new Cera.....but what a looker.

Ah, you work with food. I'm more into the custom folder scene myself, but I did make my own Santoku about 2 years ago. Have you ever heard of Murray Carter? I've always wanted a small chef's knife from him in white steel.

I started out with Kershaw folders. Murray Carter is a custom maker. He makes chefs cutlery and small neck knives.

I want to make another review on the Revolution. Recently I had only been able to get shatter , so that's what I used in the Rev for about a month. I liked the performance but it wasn't all there. Maybe a 7/10. I still loved it just not as much as I thought I would. Just yesterday I was able to get some crumble. The crumble melted with the most minimal heat , and passed the foil test. I put that in the Rev and it melted in about 4 seconds with fully charged batteries. It was amazing. The revolution works so much better with something that melts easily into the ceramic. I rate the Revolution a 10/10 on my scale

Agreed my man, wax and CO2 oil, as well as anything oily in consistency, works the best for me. Shatter works as well but the oils melt in so much faster and vape faster. Just an overall better experience for me. I don't have a problem throwing the shatter on my nail, though. Rev can handle it, sure, but it can handle other consistencies better. It's pretty close to perfect I'd say.

BeardedCrow, I have to agree, my Ultra kit (DART, AVA, EVO) are just so beautiful. I can't help but just look at them in between hits. It's incredible to think a company made something this small and this well-built and it works so well for concentrates.
