It's one of those cheap Chinese box-style ones with a digital read-out and whip-style apparatus. But let me tell you, this is the best high and the most natural/clear-headed high I have had in a while (probably ever). :
Welcome. I tried one of those cheap Chinese vapes - a "vapor prince" a friend had. There's plenty of discussion here about possible health hazards - toxins in the air path, etc., but I just wanted to point out that the noticeable weak link with THAT vape was the tubing - too narrow and it kinked up too easily.
Swapped it out with some decent silicone tubing that fit the wand and the difference was night and day.

Hello everybody. I have been reading this forum for a little while now and just got my first vaporizor a few weeks ago. I really want to thank everybody who contributes to this forum, it's been an amazing resource for learning about vaping and there is a great vibe here.

I'm 30 years old and living in Melbourne, Australia. Have been combusting for just over a decade, both pot and cigarettes (I was smoking cigarettes on-and-off for years but rarely ever nowadays). After using a bong for years I've decided to switch to vaping to try cut out some of the health risks from smoking. Using a bong tended to irritate my throat sometimes and I'd always get a cough. Can't have been very good for my lungs as I usually smoked daily and I'd go through a fair bit of pot at times. Like a lot of heavy smokers I would sometimes cough up tar from my lungs and seeing that stuff always freaks me out. I love getting stoned though so I knew it was time to invest in a healthier alternative. I've known about vaporizors for years but the first time I got to use one was at a party last year when somebody brought a Volcano with them. Since then the desire to get a vape of my own had been gradually growing stronger and stronger.

I recently found this forum and decided to order myself a good vape. I ordered a Herbalaire and have been using it for a few weeks now. I've been really happy with it so far, I can't see myself going back to smoke again. I totally agree with what everybody says about it taking a little while to get accustomed to the different sort of high you get from vaping. It feels like I've adjusted to it now, at first I missed the couchlock effect a bit (I'd never heard the word 'couchlock' before I found this forum, I think it's the best new word I've learnt all year) but I also don't seem to get much anxiety or paranoia like I can sometimes with smoking. The difference in taste is amazing, you really notice the difference in flavour between different types of pot. I'm so jealous of those of you who can just go to a dispensary and try out out all the different strains there, really wish that we had similar laws here in Australia. It must be nice to able to walk into a place to buy pot where you have a range to choose from, you know exactly what it is you're getting and you can expect a consistent level of quality, here in Australia I just have to buy whatever is available at any given time and usually have no idea what it is or where it came from.

Now I've got my first vaporiser I've got the urge to buy more, it seems to be the trend among people on this forum. Once you start to learn more about these devices it becomes obvious that they all have their own particular strengths and that it's well worth owning several different ones to suit different purposes. I'll probably get the Purple Days next, there are so many people here with good things to say about it, and I am thinking of probably getting a Magic Flight Box as it sounds like a fantastic portable vape. I start a new job soon, so hopefully when that starts I'll be able to save some extra money and get some new vapes, in the meantime the Herbalaire is great, wish I'd bought one sooner.

Once again thank you to everybody here, this forum has been a great help to me.

Gee79, A big welcome to the forum. It's nice to have someone from the land down under. If youre considering a "Log Type Vape" then you could also consider getting a Myrtle Zap or a Woodeez. All three are good choices.

Hi all, ive been burning it up in a bong for 24 years, now lookin to save my lungs while still taking the good herb.

I decided to bite the bullet and after some quick research on th net (not here), i went and bought a whip based setup from the local shop. As i read about the basic soldering iron ones or the convection based ones.

Well ive got mixed reviews about vapor, every time i have had it i think it aint doing much, but then every now and then im am out like never before....but then other times it doesn't do anything.

Example of being out, i came home from work, had a couple of bowls in the whip, didn't feel much, had a bong and felt better. Then i went and had a shower, got in, then the next thing i realize the waters running cold and realize i just been standing there tripping out.....

But then i tell my mate how good it is, he comes round to try and we have 4 or 5 bowls and didn,t feel a thing....wtf

Now my vape is a chinese import and i know how you guys feel about them, so for those who have had a chinese import, specificly TOP VAPOR, and a american made then please let me know of what you really thought of both.

Anyways im from the land down under....OZ

So not sure whats what really, theres only so much reading i can do, im gathering from here that Purple Days is one of the best choices?

Oh i got so many questions so little time to ask.....

And Gee.. we should catch up and have a vape, im interested in trying other vapes?? or a good one!!

dxmxgxd,
Hows it going guys? I'm a self-proclaimed glasshead waiting around for the VapeXhale Cloud. Lwien finally convinced me to join the site. Used to have a Volcano digi and have been loving my buddies Buddha recently. I think it's about time I gave more attention to the whole vapor experience... this seems the place to do it.

Hello, nice to meet you all. I came across this site the other day when I was googling for different methods of enjoying the wonder that is vapor "resin" and I decided to join up. I dont usually frequent a lot of forums but I liked the idea of a community of people who all use vaporizers. Anyway a bit about myself, I torched it for the first ten years until I bought my Vaporbrothers about 4 years ago. I routinely tell people I know that it was the best $175 I've ever spent and its not just so I can use the cliche. It got me started thinking about my health which eventually prompted me to give up cigarettes after 15 years and put smoke of any kind entirely out rotation for me. Not that I dont still pull a pinch from the dugout now and again when I'm out and about but on the whole I just dont do it that much. It also enabled me to conserve which in turn allowed me to pretty much keep it to high grade exclusively with the money I save, so its a win win for me. At any rate I'm 27 I work with electricity and do IT in my spare time and for extra cash. A few of my interests are books, film, good TV (Dexter or Six Feet Under anyone?), music, art, science, technology, spirituality (I prefer mine without religion), horticulture, animals, and of course politics (in small doses). I think I've only tried about 5 different vaporizers to date; mine, a volcano, a silver surfer or something like it, and two Vbros knock offs. I'm curious as to what everyone's experience has been with different makes and models. Anyhow, good to meet you all and good to be here.

:peace:

WOW! I finally understand - had my best vaping sessions last night, took me two weeks to learn how to get and keep in my hits, and it's great, kind of hallucinogenic for a few moments even, the kind you can cough yourself out of but quite nice indeed, the bongs on the way out - i was able to get significantly higher on less - the only thing is it didn't seem to last as long, oh, just remembered it was LESSssss! haha, great uckfing stuff, thanks for sharing - it helped! (and i saved some money)

What's up everybody!

The name's Flat5th. I've lurked around many cannabis forums (mainly ICMag) and found this site while researching iOlite repair and the Extreme Q.

I've been a vaper for about a year and a half. Started with a crap $40 hot box from eBay. It worked well enough to sell me on vaporizing.

The next purchase was an iInhale. Bought it on the Dopefiend's recommendation and loved it. I took it everywhere with me, taking photos along the way. Fun times!

My brother-in-law was gifted a used Volcano Classic. He prefers smoke, so he gave it to me under the terms that he could have it back whenever. I've used the shit out of that thing and really love it. I even bought a new knob to replace the missing one and hammered out a few of the dents to make it look more respectable.

A while later my trusty iInhale started acting up, I found an iOlite on eBay for a fair price and bought it as a backup in case i had to send the original in for repair. The kid said he didn't like the way it worked, when i received it i found that he had both moisture condensers in the stem...hahaha...no wonder he wasn't getting any airflow. Anyways. Now i have 2 iOlites and love them both (the other started acting right upon proper venting).

Now my bro-in-law wants his volcano back, so I needed a replacement. I've had the Extreme in mind for a while and decided to buy the latest model (EQ). I LOVE IT! I like the bags it fills better than the Volcano, much quieter, much less waste when replacing bags (i hate the plastic waste on the EZ valve). I admit that the volcano is a nicer machine that has custom fitted parts and a fancy rep and all that. But the EQ is a beautiful machine...it does several things the Volcano didn't and it's simple.

So there you have it. a brief vape history of a guy you never met!

thanks and i hope to see you around the forum!

VAPE ON!

Hello everyone! I've been a lurker here since around December. Since then I bought the vapes in my sig and have been LOVING each of them. I quit smoking completely around three months ago! i was a pack a day smoker and managed to just call it quits and i haven't had a single cig since. I was also a big bong/blunt/joint smoker but im a vocalist and need my lungs. :) it was a breeze to quit smoking my meds once i got my vapes, its a solid setup. i also have a glass tube for my wdz and am really tempted in getting a Supreme, but I am going to try to wait for the new version. I just want to say this is a great forum and thank all of you for the vast amounts of information! :D

What it do FC?!

D'LO here and I just wanted to make my first post my introduction. Some of you may know me from GrassCity, but I have not posted there in forever though. I had been combusting for about 4 years daily fairly heavily up until a couple months ago and I have to admit I am not missing it much at all! I Decided to start vaping because I am aware that carbon monoxide and the other chemicals that are released with combustion are dangerous to ones health, and not to mention rolling up bunts uses a LOT of herb. I am now vaping the same amount in a week that I use to smoke in a day. It truly is amazing! :o

My daily driver at the moment is my Silver Surfer which I absolutely adore. I ordered a Purple Days Pandora yesterday and am literally waiting by the door for this thing to come. I have heard nothing but excellent things about this vaporizer and the videos and pictures I have seen are exeptional. I have been bit by the Vapor bug, and much like Pokemon; "I gotta catch um all!" (The good ones anyway)

I look forward to meeting and learning from the vape heads around here!

Be easy FC!

Great vape choices there, D'LO.
Hello, and thanks for the welcome lwien. It's funny that you approve of my vape choices because I actually began considering Purple Days after reading one of your post. You were very convincing!

Hey guys :D

So I've been lurking FC for almost a year now since my first vaporizer purchase but never got around to joining, so here I am!

I had been combusting for about a year prior, pretty casually though as I was new to weed. The more my smoking become habitual, the more the smoke started to bother me. Meanwhile my father was diagnosed with cancer (runs in the family :S) and that was the last straw for me. I decided should my time to duke it out with the big C ever come, I would be in great health to better my odds, and that's where FC came in to play :p

Originally I had browsed the forums to discover the benefits of vaping and maybe seek out some help with model choice, but at the time my parents were unaware of my use, so this had to be kept on the D-low.

Went down to my local headshop, sadly they only had a handful of models to choose from. I picked up a "Noble Vapors" something or other, which I found out later to be some sort of knock-off of the Natural Goods whip vaporizer. After about 8 months of use, 2 broken whips (introduce a vape to 4 teens who had only known combustion previously, and bad things are bound to happen) the tragic day came when the entire unit fell, and the ground-glass connections, AND the 3rd whip were shattered entirely.

Live and learn, I've now ordered an Aromed 4.0 a little over a week ago and eagerly await its arrival.

Thank you all so much for the great work you've put in to these boards, and I look forward to a long, enjoyable stay :D

Hey FC!

I stumbled across this site the other day when I was just browsing the internet and have been lurking and reading all the different forums. This place is just full of so much knowledge and seems like everyone is pretty cool.

Been vaping since my friend introduced it to me about 2 years ago, but didn't really get hooked on it until this past fall. My vapor brothers became my favorite smoking device and its pretty much all I use now. All of my buddies that I smoke with love it now too! We've been saving up all our ABV and are going to make a batch of edibles soon! :D

After looking around the forum I was amazed at all the different types of vapes. So now I am looking forward to picking up a new vape sometime in the future, hopefully soon :) .

Looking forward to being a part of this awesome community.
