So I've been using my new Solo, heavily, for the last couple of weeks and I like it. The draw is a little restrictive, but not too bad, and the thing can deliver some EPIC clouds.
I like it a little hotter than most I guess. When using direct draw I like it at 6, and with glass at 7 (wish there was an 8, you could wiggle one in before it hits combustion temp of 455 F).
I made the Stealth Cup version 1.0-
Mission 1-
"The Arcade"
Difficulty: 4/5. Fairy crowded, tight confines, and I'm sure there are some hidden cameras around.
The destination- http://groundkontrol.com/arcade/ ...a retro video game arcade that also serves alcohol and food.
Fully loaded and ready to go, I snuck it in my messenger bag, and when I needed a re-up on my high I went to a corner that had an Asteroids machine, set the Solo on 3, and put the cup inside a beer glass holder located on top of the Asteroids machine. I used my battery cap that I got with my LB and put it on top of the draw tube to contain the smell while the unit heated up. After about a minute took loooong slow draws and exhaled virtually no vapor. Took almost the full 12 minutes to clear the bowl, I did turn it up to 6 near the end to fry it.
In that time a couple of people came by and played Joust and Centipede, with no one the wiser about what I was doing. I am an expert Asteroids player, so I just kept 1 asteroid on the screen and fought the ships while I took my draws. Pretty easy.
Mission Successful!
Mission 2-
"Oz: The Great and Powerful"
Difficulty: 2/5 hardly anyone here in a big theater.
Went to a screening of Oz during a 10:45 pm Sunday night showing at my local multiplex. Again I snuck the unit unit in, fully loaded and ready to go, in my messenger bag.
The theater was almost deserted, with a few people sitting near the center. I sat alone in the very last row.
After about an hour I needed a re-up, so I set the unit on 5, and again used the LB battery cap to contain the smell. After a minute took my first draw and held it. Exhaled virtually no vapor.
Hit 2, stopped when my lungs started to burn, exhaled some vapor, but wasn't worried about it because the next people were 4 rows ahead of me.
Worked like a charm, with the higher setting there was some smell leakage, but since the theater was almost empty, I felt like I could get away with it.
Mission Successful!

The only thing that's different is the HE (high efficiency), meaning increased airflow. If you like more airflow, wait for the HE. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with the regular ones.

Red, how did you protect your stem in your messenger bag? Does the cap on top really do much cause you can start drawing before full temp or use your finger if the smell starts to leak?
Great report on stealth. I am going to try to make one out of an old plastic water bottle. I of course will use my new long glass straws so it will be easy. I will also make the holes in the bottom for circulation.

Excellent questions. I did start drawing before full temp was reached, just to be safe. I'm not sure exactly how much the cap helps with the smell, more testing needs to be done, but it doesn't hurt either.
As far as stem protection, first during normal transport I have my 'go' kit. which looks like this...
Using rubber bands ala my LB days I secure the stem to the Solo via 1 or 2 rubberbands and then fit everything inside a travel case...
Then everything fits snuggly in my messenger bag's internally mounted pockets.
These pockets are on the inside of the bag near the front. They are very deep, and completely cover my go kit and cup. So everything fits nice and snug...

I keep my stash like this until I get close to my destination. Then once I feel safe I load the Solo in the cup like I showed on my last post. As you can see the tip of the draw tube extends past the lid of the cup about the same length as a LB. There is some exposure, but the glass is pretty thick, so it's reasonably well protected.
Next I place the loaded cup into my internal bag pocket once again. Like I said it's a very deep pocket and can swallow the whole thing, but not too wide so it's secure. There is some risk with breakage, but that's the name of the game. Overall I think it's pretty well protected, it could take a sharp knock or two. Here in this pic it's buried in the pocket and already to go for later use.
For Stealth Cup version 2.0, I'm going to use a bigger cup with a hard plastic shell so the Solo will be better protected and the draw tube won't extent past the lid so far, just enough for a 'sip'. I'll also use some the molded packaging foam that it came in to glue to the inside of the cup for a custom fit. I'll leave enough room at the bottom to hold my 4 piece and have the Solo sit on top of it.
I'll keep you updated....

You can make a sleeve for the stem to just slip over the top for extra protection. You can hollow out a piece of foam or use neoprene one of my favs. I have a neoprene sleeve already for my bent stem. I made it out of a beer holder that you get for free. I ripped it apart and hand sewed it. Trust me I can't sew but it did the job. Now I am inspired so bought a sewing machine and we will see what I come up with. I did fail sewing in middle school

Why do you want to put your four piece under the solo? Putting it underneath will scratch it maybe. Remember you need to vent the solo as well.

Truth! I made a stealth cup too for my Solo, but you need holes on bottom of cup to help that heat vent and not build up! Nifty setup though there RedEye with your travel bag!!

The caps are not a bad idea but I'm just trying to simplify the items...plus if you won't put a second screen when you remove the cap you might have some herb inside...so IMO you shouldn't use both.
I guess Travel tubs are good but I would rather have the stem bubbled wrapped in case someone sits on it or any smiler scenario happens.

This is a different subject however have you tried drips of WAX Concentrate on your flowers with the SOLO through a water path?
As long as you have nothing planned it's pretty amazing!

Can't get WAX here, however I use cotton and rub it inside the stem - then I take my stock stem and fire the solo at "7" for a very very awesome vape session...

My SOLO I use trough Water taste best at level 4.
Even wet with WAX.
edit: I tried level 5 once and my herb was tasting burnt?
I use level 3 normally.
Level 4 with water.
You must have iron lungs!
Level 4 through water passage puts me in a Self Induced Coma!

I'm liking all this travel talk. I usually just attach my stem with travel cap to my solo with an elastic band and put it in the bag my MFLB PA came in. It's fairly big so I wrap it around the unit for padding and put it in my bag.
Never tried wax concentrates with my solo (never tried them at all actually) but have tried ISO hash which was nice.
The other weekend I had some nice hash which I put in the solo and it seemed to last forever, just kept on going. The solo definitely seems to be the best out of my collection for use with hash.

Burnt? no freaking way...solo is up to 210C while combustion start at 236C.
Anyway the WAX is best used at "7" (for maximum results) -efficiency wise not taste wise

My SOLO's are so powerful at level 4 even with WAX I drop to my knees and have to crawl on the floor!
Super Efficient without harming flavor..
I would experience a early death at level 7!
